Seraph_ |
Seraph smiles and bows, taking Asta's hand and gently kissing it as one would to honor their ladyship. She Holds it tenderly afterwards and nods to her, though she was prepared to let it go as the slightest indication from Asta. "It is a momentous day milady. I will do all that I can to support you all in the growth of this kingdom and pray that Arshea allows its untamed beauty to captivate all those who settle here." Seraphs collar shifts just enough with her motions that the broken chain gently sways as well, indicating that her contract with Asta was still in effect.
Internet at work is crud now, can't afford to buy faster internet :P But I am still here!
KenderKin |
Kressel takes charge of the two boys and gets them to take all the horses and remove saddles and brush them down as well as feed them....
The boys eye her initially and look to Rod and them Johod for leadership, but Kressel silently draws both handaxes and splits more wood for the fire in six quick and on target chops....
Jhod laughs...
Crackjaw approaches and shows the priest his holy symbol..Jhod nods and leads him to the alter location. Crackjaw smiles and nods and chitters excitedly...
The barbarian seems to at last realize that it is possible he has killed someone without him being aware of it...
"Please If I have harmed the fair maiden just sentence me to death, it is what I deserve."
Asta Blackheart |
"Sentence follows on trial, not discovery," Asta tells the Barbarian. "This is to be a nation of law, not of drumheads. Besides, you are the victim of extenuating circumstances. A man out of his mind is hardly a cold-blooded murderer."
Torod |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
"We need to return to the Stag Fort. The good folk of this land need to see us ruling. It is well and good for Brevoy to say we rule here, but those are merely words on a paper."
Seraph_ |
"When do we return to the Stag fort? Now or after we know he is no longer going to change?" Her response to Torod is after her nod in agreement with Asta's wise words.
KenderKin |
Jhod is listening along...."The man may bed secured here, the two boys also...."
Jhod looks thoughtful....
"The girl also seems to have a good knowledge of herbs, perhaps beyond both Kressel and I, perhaps she too should remain at the temple, rather than around many people..."
Asta Blackheart |
"No," Asta says, shaking her head. "It's tempting, the thought of leaving the little nuisance here at the temple, but I want her where I can keep an eye on her. Or at least where I can tell numerous people to keep an eye on her. She's a Witch, like myself, and she needs tutoring if she's to be any good. We'll take her with us when we go -- and yes, we should go now."
Torod |
"I agree on both accounts." Torod shakes his head in disbelief. "That is what the World decides to use that on? What a waste. Oh well. I'm sure there will be much for Asta and I do disagree on in the very near future."
Sunset, |
Sunset wanders in to the large, central space... Now washed, cleaned and changed after the group's days on the trail.
Her second set of clothes pretty much match those she's been wearing... but with being 'In doors' and amongst company Sunset isn't wearing her hat and has her hair held in a simple braid. The snall weapon sitting in its pouch upon her hip as always. A small, cylindrical object is gripped in the corner of her mouth... which she removes and holds as she talks in reply to the tail end of the conversation that she hears.
With a nod to Lady Astra, "Aye, well.. keepin' young scamp where ye want her be tha' trick, don't it?" Sunset casually looks around the interior of the place.
"So.. we rest up. Have a good helpin' of vittles an' thence back in tha' saddle in no time, hey?" She sighs.
"Here's hopin' ta' young Imiria takin' me advice t' heart an' follwin' what t'is ye've laid out." Sunset finishes speaking her peace and finds some where to sit and enjoy every one's company.
As the night moves on she takes a small, metal device out of her pants pocket. Deftly 'flicks' its top open upon which a small flame spring into being. With said flame Sunset lights the end of the small cylinder (A tightly rolled bundle of aromatic leaves) and begins to puff and inhale said burning herbage.
Sunset, |
At young Imiria's comments Sunset remains calmly seated. The rolled, burning item she's puffing on seeming having captured all of her attentions at the moment.
Asta Blackheart |
"You were not left in charge of anything nor anyone, little Witch," Asta says, her voice dangerously calm. "Nor do I foresee you being put in charge of anyone nor anything in the near future. Now. You have an illegal copy of our writ of authority. Hand it over."
Sunset, |
Sunset eyes Imiria and coughs..... (¬_¬)
Sunset, |
Sunset goes back to enjoying her past time...
"Well.. looky that. Young'n has gone worked up a sense of humor.... We have moved t' livin' amongst in'erestin' times... "
Seraph_ |
Seraph watches the exchange quietly, amused at the happenings and merely maing mental notes as to the relationships in the group. "Rest would be good, it has been a long day."
She looks to Rod Walker then. "Will you be continuing on with us in the morning Sir Walker?"
KenderKin |
Rod sees that the boys have been placed and he nods in response to the question.....
"We best not let those settlers sit too long, they might have a mind to stay right there."
The night passes uneventfully, the only thing that seems different is that Imiria seems taller and the smoke from the morning fire seems to swirl around her instead of daring to approach....
Sunset, |
Come the morning Sunset is rested, has had a nice breakfast and is once again ready to head back out on the road... trail... with folks.
She's happy to walk along side the horse with the others while Imiria rides.
Seraph_ |
Unless Asta mentions something she takes the sudden change in Imiria in stride. Giving the once young looking girl a pleasant remark. "Looks like you've grown some Imiria, if you are in need of clothes let me know." With that she chuckles good naturedly as she gets the animals ready to travel.
She was at ease that the former werewolf was taken care of as well.
If the Guardians from before had showed up Seraph would have talked to them if at all possible Kenderkin.
Sunset, |
Sunset gives Imiria but a cursory glance when Seraph mentions 'size'.
"Children grow... t'is tha' nature of things..." Is her philosophical comment even as she gets the horse saddled and bridled. At Atsra's command and with every thing ready Sunset walks off with every one else... possibly following Torod and Chief.
KenderKin |
As you head out Rod Walker finally breaks the silence....
"If you guardians have more pressing matters, I can get the settlers to proper places further in, if you give me enough direction to do it."
About that time Perlavish appears out of no where and sits down on a branch and pulls an impossibly long pipe out of his pouch....
He smiles at Imiria "How did they like the magic paper?"
Imiria "Not so much, but we can't expect too much from them."
Perlavish "Indeed, no we can not."
The dragon crosses his arms and puffs on his pipe......
Perlavish looks to you all....
"Guard the youngling well and I think your ministry of magic will be difficult to break."
Sunset, |
Sunset does little more than dip the brim of her hat at the critter that's appeared to say 'hello' to her Niece.
At the creature's final words Sunset nods, "Aye, but there's more'n jus' magic whut's libel t'get broke'd given tha' way of some folks...." She says quietly even as the group heads out.
As to the settling of people, Sunset leaves that in more capable folk's hands.
Torod |
Torod leads the group directly to the Stag Fort. He takes them through the area where they caught Tuskgutter. They camp near the fangberry bushes. Soon the Stag Fort and the worker's camp that built up around it are in sight.
Asta Blackheart |
"Maybe if we guard her more closely, she'll be less likely to go about making a nuisance of herself," Asta snorts in response to Perlavish' words.
To Rod Walker, she adds: "Tarry with us a while. Seems to me you can be witness to our coronation, with the new writ in our hands and our course wending towards our Green Heart. Get to know the capitol and carry the news to the settlers when you set out again."
Sunset, |
"Maybe if we guard her more closely, she'll be less likely to go about making a nuisance of herself," Asta snorts in response to Perlavish' words.
Sunset does little more than glance to Asta at her comment, seeming content to lead the horse with Imiria aboard.
Seraph_ |
"Without mischief, we cannot learn, Milady. Better to let the girl bloom without grounding her." She looked to Perlavish then, beckoning the dragon to sit with her once more. "I will, but I hope this doesn't mean you will be leaving us so soon." She smiles fondly, oddly accustomed and grateful for the little dragons company.
Seraph was chatty and thoughtful, responding playful when she could but remaining on guard the trip home. When the former Stag Fort came into sight she smiled even more broadly. She was eager to see how her followers were faring and ecstatic to continue in the cultivation of a following to Arshea amid the growth of a new town. A society that would need councilors and public works that improved the beauty of all. "Good to be home." Her latched collar shifts and the broken chain jingles as she sways on Julius's back. The horse whickering lightly at her sudden movements after so many days of riding.
Sunset, |
Is this where the new coming colonists are at? Is so... Imiria and Sunset have some family things to settle....
Torod |
"Oh! Set the event for tomorrow at noon. That should give everyone time to prepare and gather." He nods to Asta and Seraph to assure their agreement. And we'll hold a short closed session of court this evening after our evening repast to hear the issues of our people."
Seraph_ |
Seraph looks to Asta the smile fading from her face as she asks in a more professional way. "Shall I assist you in getting ready? Seems they are... impatient."
Asta Blackheart |
"Pray do so, my knight," Asta says, nodding.
Then she turns to Imiria: "Since you are eager to be up and doing, Apprentice, I would charge you to gather the other members of the Circle we have been building. I will see them one hour before the evening repast. Can you handle that little job for me?"
Seraph_ |
Seraph nods, dismounting and fully prepared to assist Asta in anyway possible to prepare her for the coronation that was already before them.
Sunset, |
So... am guessing Imiria and kin are close.
Sunset nods at Asta's request of her Niece but doesn't entangle herself in their conversation which, once over, she and Imiria head off to stable the horse and take care of family matters and such.
"Soo lass... seems there's lots fer ye ta' be tellin' about..." Sunset asks conversationally as they walk towards 'Home'.
Imiria |
"Not so much as all that, I don't think. Momma taught me the songs of healing and slumber that helps people when they are ill, and the herbs and poultices and even how to make soap and cornbread. The witchery comes easy to me just as it did to her. Mister Perlavish thinks I will be on the ministry of magic, he calls it, he is a funny friend, he worries about evil and all."
Sunset, |
Sunset nods at her Niece's explanation, though for just a moment a darkness clouds the older woman's features. Some aspect of the younger girls' words haunting Sunset's thoughts.
"Aye, well... t'is in my experience ye should take heed from tha' advice of such as Mister Perlavish. I bin tellin' ye same about good an' bad, hey?" Sunset reminds Imiria of words and lessons they've also had in the past even as she gives Imiria's shoulder a reassuring squeeze.
Soon the pair arrive at the buildings that their family has established. Sunset indicates Imiria should enter why Sunset stables the horse in the barn along with the other livestock the group has brought with them.
Once the animals are settled and tended Sunset saunters around to enter the place., dutifully knocking the trail dust off her boots upon the porch/back step before knocking lightly and entering, doffing her hat as she does so.
Sunset stops for a moment as she stands just within the door, letting the panel swing shut slowly behind her. Blue eyes slowly move over the furnishings, the personal things sitting here and there about the place.
However, the moment passes quickly and Sunset removes her vest placing it along with her hat upon a small available table then moves to help Imiria with all the chores that needs be done about a frontier home.
"So! I been thinkin' of sendin' word ta' Jane. By looks of some of tha' critters wanderin' about, Jane'd feel right at home. What d'ye think?" Sunset candidly asks her Niece for advice.
Seraph_ |
If there was time before the coronation Seraph checks in with her followers, ensuring they were doing okay and checking on their condition. "Milady, I am going to check upon my brethren, I will return within the next couple hours. Unless you need me sooner, I won't be far." She looks to Tod Walker then. "Would you like to join me on a tour the fort? You can meet some of those who arrived ahead of your settlers. That is if you wish to." She wouldn't be disappointed if he turned her down, Rod was a busy man after all.
Diplomacy - Improve Attitude of those she was dealing with: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
She checks in with the guards and sees how well they were doing in improving the fort and its defenses. Along with if there were any problems while they were gone. She was the absolute picture of how a leader should be, determined and confident in their ability. Never looking disappointed and even when given an excuse she responded with a kind word or a suggestion if she had any to give. Instead of looking down with disappointment she responded with encouragement, hoping to inspire her followers to continue to improve. "Arshea bless your efforts for failure is a teacher, every time we fail we learn another way how not to perform a task. Like gaining callouses by performing hard labor with ones hands. Failure sharpens the mind, so continue learning and continue to better yourselves. Do this and I, nor Arshea would never be disappointed in you or anyone else."
She tests the guards a little, quick sparring matches and gives tips on how they can better defend themselves when needed.
Sunset, |
Sunset spends the returned evening and the early part of the next day doing 'House' chores and helping Imiria with getting the land and such back into shape.
Leaving enough time to change into her best clothes, which she's been cleaning up exactly for, the high fine to-do which is happening at about mid-day.
