I just did regular monk to get started. (I've only ever played one in NWN video game)
But I'll be happy to look at unchained monk. :)
What makes it stronger?
I find that a Monk/keneticist is MAD as all get out. I decided to go Dex and Con as 'primary' stats, and of course Wis for Monk bonuses, but that left Str, Int & Cha out in the cold. ;P

Unchained monk gets more HP and has a full BAB progression, gets access to ki powers earlier. And yea, they're gonna be mad MAD. Overall, you'll have fewer attacks from Flurry of Blows in the long term, but they'll be far far better at hitting. You'll get to choose your ki powers instead of being stuck with the ones listed by base monk, and you'll have access to style strikes. The saves are a little worse in unchained, though, and most archetypes don't work with unchained (though if you want to use an archetype, I'd be happy to work with you on tailoring it to fit the unchained monk class).

Hey all,
Sorry, Besides being busy, I have been dealing with the flood-pocalypse here in southern Lousy-anna.
I got a little water in my house, not bad at all, BUT it came in through my garage.
Everything on the floor not in tupperware was a complete loss.
Did I mention that both my wife and I are packrats? :/
So, spent last 3 days clearing out my garage and salvaging what I could.
Good news, my GARAGE is cleaner than it was when I moved in!
bad news, my HOUSE looks like a disaster area, (from all of the stuff we brought in trying to save) ANd it is now raining again. :P
Sigh,... Why can't life be like PbP's? ;P

OK, you wanted musical themes for us. Here are 3 to choose from for me - not certain what musical style you're going for:
My favorite from Halo 3 ODST. A rookie soldier is lost and separated from his squad, wandering through a rainy city alone, dodging aliens. Reflects my feelings of loneliness and alienation in the "real world".
Wild child kind of theme, reflecting my time in the spirit world more. Modern classical. Sorry about the flute emphasis; Treppa's a little hung up on the things. :)
I can't explain why she thinks this one fits me so well. Some of her other classical favorites didn't work at all (Massinet Meditation on Thais, Gluck Dance of the Blessed Spirits, etc), but for some reason Elsa proceeding to the Cathedral tripped her trigger. Might be because of Elsa's trepidation yet confidence that she's doing the right thing. Hope I end better than poor Elsa. Not going near Swan Knights, nope. :/

Sorry for the time I am taking on this. I wanted to get the Player's Guide up, but it's still taking longer than anticipated. I am currently putting together the timeline between LoK's end and LoV's beginning on a separate file, so that you guys aren't privvy to that information while editing. However, if there's anything you wish to know about the setting, let me know, and I will add it to the guide!

Sorry for not posting more! D:
I'll try to get something up today, but I'll be busy with convention stuff this weekend. (That's a first for me. @_@)
And, um, I dunno how high she is. I guess I'll go with my height!
5'5" xP (not counting her stylish mohican!)

I had to turn off my PC Cuz it was past bedtime. Otherwise I'd STILL be watching those clips! :)

I tried to Google-fu Avatar Hishen, but can't locate anything. The fan site I found doesn't list him/her in the reincarnations of the avatar. What information would Taikahana know about him/her?
Also, I'm not sure I asked elsewhere, but currently Kineticist powers are exclusive and do not allow them to be used with weapons. Having almost zero lore knowledge, I don't know if this jives with the show or not. However, I guess I worry that being a samurai will be next to useless if there isn't some way to marry the use of the fire-bending kineticism with weapon play. I'm hoping to work this out without creating an Anapa-monster. I know flaming and on up weapon abilities would certainly be too powerful early game, but I have some ideas on how it could implemented. I need to see if you would be willing to entertain those adjustments or if it would just be easier for me to change how Taikahana is built. Maybe his official class is something else, and Samurai is just the flavor.
If I need to restructure Taikahana, then definitely better now than later!

Along the lines of what I mentioned above, did you ever address the way elemental attachment is in 3.P v. the Avatarland?
For example, poison and earth, electricity and air...I just wanted to confirm if that's staying per the way PF sees it or as Avatarland sees it as I know they are different.

GM Meowselsworth |

Avatar Hishen is not a character from the show. Some of the lore stuff is going to have to be canon in this universe! But for the purposes of in-game, Hishen is the Avatar three cycles before Roku, which would be 15 Avatars ago, so a very very long time ago, over a thousand years. As such, you probably don't know much about Hishen except for old stories which might have become mixed up with fictions by now.
Because of Taikahana's background, he would know that Hishen is old school, and probably someone who your character's family would see as a model for the Fire Nation to follow, possibly why they are still ashamed of the events from the 100 year war. He was known for his restraint; even if he had mastered the Avatar state, he did not use more power than absolutely required. He used a sword that was dulled on the edge in order to avoid killing his enemies. Still, most people don't know who he is these days. For more information, Knowledge (history) will be the roll.
As for your fighting style, I figure that in general, even when bending, Taikahana's form will be a fusion between the samurai fighting style, similar to how Prince Zuko fights (in the linked fight, you see Zuko fighting first in melee, and then using firebending). If you would like to discuss ways of fusing the styles, I would be open to it, but with the other non-kineticist character classes in the gestalt (monk and fighter), there is not necessarily synergy between the bending and their martial art, but they'd still be evident in the style of the bending, if that makes sense.
In general, though, I am open to flavour when using any of the mechanics in place (you can describe your sword wreathed in flame when using kinetic blade, for example, even when normally kinetic blade is its own thing). I just don't think the samurai-fire kineticist will be any weaker or stronger than the other combinations in the group. Like I said, though, I am happy to discuss alternate options! I hope this helps a bit, but we can chat about it further!
Good questions! Sorry about not elaborating on Hishen (who only exists in the canon of my game, because I need to add my own parts of lore where there are blank spaces, since there are many blank spaces in the series!)
As for the elemental attachments, I think I addressed it in the player's guide a bit (though I don't think anyone's read it, which is fine, I think it's not terribly exciting reading), as to what kineticist abilities you each have access to at level 2, and will be expanding it going forward. We will be using the Avatarland connections; for the most part, the kineticist abilities actually act very similarly to the abilities in Avatarland with the key exception that lightning falls into air's domain in Pathfinder, while lightning falls into fire in the game. As such, I'm giving air Thunder abilities, while fire gets Lightning abilities.

Proposal: Hishen's Katana.
Instead of having edged and non-edged sides, the weapon has both sides blunted but responds to a Fire Kineticist's power specifically. As Gather Power typically requires both hands to be free, Hishen's Katana alternately allows the ability, but the gathered power is stored in the sword. The sword then tapers to a keen edge allowing use of the sword to deal lethal damage. The Fire Kineticist may disperse the power to prevent Burn at any point, but the sword returns to non-lethal only damage until the Kineticist once again Gathers Power. Gathering Power using Hishen's Katana in this way is a Standard action instead of a Move action.
Thoughts?

Moesashi Taikahana |

Gather Power can only offset 3 points of Burn ever. And than means 1 Full Action followed by a Move action of Gather Power. I don't even think there are feats that modify it. What I've listed above doesn't allow increased Burn avoidance but rather sidesteps the requirement that both hands must be empty rule. And to help mitigate the benefit, this would add a penalty by increasing the action type.
One thing I can clarify is that the sword would only be able to hold 1 point of Burn dismissing Gather Power, so the full turn Gather Power to cancel 2 Burn wouldn't be possible while wielding the sword.

I swear I am working on something! I am still trying to figure out how I want to do the maps, local and world, and this next few moments will require me to have a cold hard thing that you guys can use.
I am not sure how you all feel about using Roll20. I am also asking my sister to make Avatar style (I mean, it won't be perfectly replicated) uh, avatars for your characters. Are there any significant ways that your character appearances might be different from your paizo pictures? This will just be for character portions.
Or if you want to provide a physical description, that will work. In the meantime, I'll likely just use your paizo pics. I hope to have something up this weekend, sorry folks.
