This is my favorite part of running a game like this: watching the players guess. I will say that at least one of you is somewhat close to one of the mysteries at hand.
That being said, we're talking about beds for medium-sized creatures. Which is odd, because they have had beings the size of Skyscale in the ship, but no bed his sized here.
And I am also surprised that Ameo did not take even comprehend languages when he leveled, but I can't play people's characters for them =D
Yea, not sure why I didn't think to take comprehend languages. I could beat myself for that over site.

GM Pandorica |

Ok Guys I am dropping out the game, it fairly clear now the game has gained a GM post rate of 3 to 4 days per post. Its killed the game off for me, as we can't keep spending time talking to each other with little or no input form the game GM that has meaning.
I am sorry it has gone this way but this is not of my doing, it happens, I just wish GMs would be honest and make it clear when they intend to have post rates drop to once twice a week.
All the best.

I personally feel that there's still plenty our characters could do to interact without the DM. We have entire -worlds- that effectively belong to -our imaginations-. :P I get that you want to get the plot moving, and I'm totally there on 2/3 of my games... As a point of fact, I'm generally just kinda hanging out waiting for everyone else to post in all of my games.
That being said... life happens. If you remember, the DM just got a new job that's kind of kicking their butt. I think you're the person who shared that knowledge. Throw in that I -think- they were also recently sick (or maybe that's like every other DM and -not- this one) and you have a recipe for slowed posting.
And -that- being said, I support your decision to do what's right for you :) Get into a game that better fits you and your needs. The game is to have fun, if you're not... then something needs to be done :)

Ameo Wanstell |

I am sorry to see you go Calista. I personally would like to see things continue. There are acceptable reason that it has been a little slow, such as the reasons skyscale said. I know generating all those items must have taken some time.
I do wish you would reconsider. I also do wish the rest of the group sticks with it.

Isabela_Calista De-Romano |

I am sorry to hear about your Illness and work load Vorg, and thank you for telling us, I can now take that into account and understand whats going on. I asked so I showed willing to find out but with no input back felt kind of neglected. Its cool to know your checking the game as you read my post within a day and responded. But understand with out the knowledge of your real life situation, it really did feel like we where left hanging, trying to work out what's been going on your end. I am sorry but it really felt that way to me.
If I had know the GM was having problems posting the I would have taken that into account with my last post. But now we know, you where sick, has a lot of real life work stuff etc but now had them under-control.
So back to the game
@Sky: yes there is a lots we can do PC to PC but the last discussion went around and around at the end. Because we needed input form the GM of the views being aired. Then Flat Bed's Vs Beds came up, funny yes but again 1 post from GM would have cleared that it.

Since I maxed out skill points in linguistics, putting me at a grand total of +9, and I only know 3 languages currently, would I be able to learn celestial over time, or any other languages for that matter?

Korash the Spiky |

As an Aasimar, Celestial should be a language you get for free.

Skyscale |

You can racial trait out of it. Plus, with race builder, you can probably just -sell- it :)

Ameo Wanstell |

During the requitment phase of this game I was never quit sure about the language selection considering we were supposed to come up with languages from our home planets. I did not think we were following the norm, so I only started with a couple languages from my planet.

Skyscale |

What you call frustrating, I call amazing. Imagine all the pantomiming you can think of... then add dragon wings. BOOM.

Korash the Spiky |

Huh... I definitely thought Celestial was how Isabela was communicating with Ameo in the first place. I got Sylvan as a racial bonus, and assumed that my planet's Sylvan was slightly intelligble with Isabela's—just enough to communicate a little bit.
Korash doesn't have much training in Linguistics, so he's not very good at speaking Draconic yet, but he'll get better over the next few levels.

Skyscale |

Kali was speaking 'modem' with Ameo. CREEEEE RRRRRRR OOOOO KUKUKUKUKUKU

Skyscale |

Weekends are slow. :P

Vrog Skyreaver |

ya, I am away from my computer most weekends (I have RL responsibilities that don't involve computers) but I try to pop in if I can.
As far as the languages go, See below:
Common: Planet-Specific
Sylvan: Universal
All of the extraplanar languages (celestial, infernal, abyssal, the elemental langauges): Universal
Draconic: Universal (also, this is the language that the language of magic is roughly based on).
Undercommon: Planet-Specific
Aklo: Planet-Specific
Druidic (druids only): Planet-Specific
Racial Languages (Dwarven, Elven, Giant, Gnome, Goblin, Halfling, gnoll, etc): Planet-Specific

Ameo Wanstell |

So can I go ahead and pick some languages since I have a bunch of points in linguistics and didnt pick languages since I was unsure?

Ameo Wanstell |

I had already picked planet languages, I just thought that was all we were supposed to know.

Ameo Wanstell |

Vrog, Does ameo know the language that is being presented everywhere? Since I apparently know more languages then I had realized.

Korash the Spiky |

Luckily, Isabela just memorized a pretty decent (and very mechanically technical) 1000-or-so-word dictionary of Alienese, that she can access later with Autohypnosis and Linguistics checks.

Skyscale |

Autohypnosis bypasses that. She'll memorize what all these things said under the effects of the potion, then have two 'pictures' that overlap once all that changes. [TIS] will still be [TIS] to her memory, but in reality it will be replaced by [Æ] after the potion wears off. Therefore Æ = TIS.

Korash the Spiky |

Man, Isabela's people are mean!
Eh, from Korash's perspective Isabela's people are just really zen (and possibly too laid-back)

Skyscale |

Also, I don't mean to not interact with Cali's ability. But Sky, in this particular instance... is a little cowed. And a lot more interested in the results of gorilla-on-a-table.
He'll probably ask to have his implants scanned but -not to tear him apart-. :P

Korash the Spiky |

I dunno... the title suggests we only have 1,000 miles to go, which isn't very far at all.

Korash the Spiky |

Oh, sure. I was just making a pun.

Skyscale |

That's what I was thinking as well.
But there's also that Proclaimers song. You could have totally been going for that, too :>

Korash the Spiky |

So... I figure one way to maybe get this game to pick up a bit is to have us move towards fight some enemies/challenges (which we haven't really had since the very beginning, and one very brief fight). Since Korash is a trained warrior anyway, this is most likely what he's looking for—the station's been overrun with horrible enemies/monsters of some kind, and if we're going to be here for a while we might as well figure out how to track and defeat them.
...he just doesn't speak the language of the technology yet, so I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out how to get the character there.

Skyscale |

Sky can't even move. Bring it. :p

Vrog Skyreaver |

This is going out to all the games that I'm in currently:
So my work has me working 50-60 hours a week to keep up with all the work that I have been assigned, and this is probably going to persist for the next 3-6 months, until the end of our busy season. That being the case, I'm going to have to drop out of my current play-by-post commitments. I apologize if this inconveniences anyone, it was clearly not something that I was expecting to have happen, but I ultimately have to face facts.
Again, I apologize if this is a burden on anyone else.
That being said, if you guys are still interested, I should be able to have some bandwidth to run, but my posts would mostly be on Sundays (with a nod here or there during the week when I would be able to post), or I could explain everything to you guys now so that I don't leave you hanging as to what's going on. I'll leave it up to you guys.
I was truly enjoying running this game, and I hope that you all would be willing to move to a reduced schedule that could then pick back up, but if not, I completely understand.

Skyscale |

I'll be here. The beauty of play by Post is that as long as I have interest in the campaign and players, time isn't as big of a factor. I like snappy quick roleplays, but that is solved just as easily by 'more'. So... you're good with me.

Korash the Spiky |

Yeah, that's fine.

Korash the Spiky |

Just checking in. Post if you have the time, no worries.
