Every one gone to bed now, :)
See ya all on the morrow
It's 12 noon here
Korash the Spiky
Not likely, Isabela. I'm in California, but I typically work from around 12-10 pm, meaning that I usually have the most time to write lengthy posts after 2 am, which is probably around your dinnertime.
I'm in one game with a European GM, and I'm always the only one awake when she posts.
Vrog Skyreaver
well, I have posted updates to everyone, so...ya. As far as the "you awaken and don't know where you are" scenarios go, this one has started off pretty well. my notes on what has happened to your characters during your....slumber are about 2 pages at this point.
One of the things I'm finding really useful in this situation is the ability to keep you guys separated and still tell the same story. I most likely couldn't run this scenario via tabletop, that's for sure!
Also, as our esteemed draconic friend pointed out, unlike a lot of pbps, you can just ignore the things that don't pertain to you.
(although I will point out that several of you are necked)!
Ameo Wanstell
I have to say, I am more excited about this game than I have been in a long time about one. Vrog you seem to be a great writer/DM.
Miss Isabela Calista De Romano
ok off and running, lets see how long we last and a Zoo full of monsters.
Korash the Spiky
Worldthorn: I was actually considering that avatar for this character, glad we got different ones.
Also: since we're supposed to have entirely different languages, I gave Korash his own variant of plant-people-influenced Sylvan. Would it make sense for Worldthorn to speak a similar language? (or at least more similar than the Sylvan that Isabela might know)
Skyscale
For example why is Skyscale carrying a psionic gorillon on his back... that's also dead? :o
Korash the Spiky
Nothing suspicious about hauling around a load of alien corpses...

Paizo had few good ones for plant people. As for the languages, it makes sense to me. Especially with his World Tree encounter. I think, in the spirit of the game, we still shouldn't be able to communicate better than the others though. :)
Miss Isabela Calista De Romano
ho ho so magic works but us poor Psionics have Alien Acupuncture left in us. Ok well wits and a good bite it is, now if only we could find an some one nice with molecular acid for blood.
:P
Korash the Spiky
Well, apparently a few of the characters can talk to each other just fine with draconic?
And hmm, most abilities that block psionics also block magic. Wacky (and my Su abilities don't seem to be working, either). Then again, if we can yank these things out without killing ourselves, Korash doesn't exactly have internal organs to worry about.
Skyscale
Iunno. I haven't been reading any spoilers that I wasn't tagged in. I've just been going along with whatever I was tagged in. :) If X says they can speak to me, and the DM doesn't say they can't... then apparently X can speak to me. :)
Miss Isabela Calista De Romano
I've been reading everything, its far to good to miss, Meta game wise don't worry, nothing in the posts will influence her until she finds things out in game. As yet she dos not even know SkyScale has a new Scale.
Skyscale
I'm good with keeping the two separate as well. The thing is, I really like the idea of for once -not- knowing everything meta. :P It'll be more fun to figure things out that way. I feel like we already made a mistake of speaking directly to one-another rather than continuing to go through the GM. But maybe that's a good kind of meta?
Miss Isabela Calista De Romano
I think the Draconic thing is working well, The culture clash makes up for talking to each other. Your PC talked of cultural things She has no idea of, reincarnation from an egg, also there is some misunderstanding with actions, your carrying a dead being because you feel bad about its death where as she just thing you are carrying dinner.
With her actions, I'm trying to play her as being on that fine line between LN and LE. She's has a duty to protect her clan then herself then care about others. She can be very curl in doing this she can be very kind. She's not sociopathic by any means, and power over others is not what she is about as well. Her duty makes her very pragmatic and logical.
I based her on the Agent/operative from the firefly film Serenity.

An interesting theory Isabela. Let's see how it pans out for you.
As far as reading other people's spoilers, I'd prefer that you didn't. I have some storytelling elements going on that when I'm finished setting up will make for some....fascinating moments (at least that is my hope).
Once everyone is together and has had the chance to tell their side of the story, you should feel free to read that which has come before. Please trust that I am doing my best to get your group together as quickly as possible.
Ameo Wanstell
I too have not been reading spoilers. Ameo is just lost and confused. I have not yet had a reason to try casting a spell so I guess I will see what happens when that comes up. I did take Eschew Materials so I should still be able to at least cast low level stuff.
Miss Isabela Calista De Romano
Ok GM no reading spoilers but my on from here on in.
Means a lot of fun reading later.
Mjesecar
@GM: when my shadows kill something, will they create spawn? If so, what happens when the summon duration expires?
Skyscale
Every time I read a Korrash post, I just get this picture of a tree edging along on his feet behind us, arms held at the ready to deflect blows and it makes me laugh. I also love how Skyscale is being manipulated by his own ego, his innate curiosity, and Calista's choices. He's just this big adorable horse sized dragon... who they're using as a protective wall of flesh. XD Meanwhile we have a super-serious (naked or half-naked?) vampire woman trying to figure things out and goading the big guy into doing things. The whole picture is hilarious. :)
Miss Isabela Calista De Romano
Time wise NY is 12 hours behind me, and LA 15 so I'm getting 5 hours overlap with any one in the USA from when I get up. I'm in your tomorrow already, humm looks like a sunny day,.
My only worry here is HK, if there is a crack down, the Internet here may go on the blink.
So if I go dark, it's not me quitting it's just local stuff a long way from me. I try not get get involved in Polatics at all, it's aways the same old same old, and as the WHO sang, "meet the new boss same as the old boss"
She's fully clothed, yep she's supper sereus most of the time and yep, she manipulating the BFD [big freandly dragon] as right now she's got nothing but a pear of feeding fangs to protect herself with. In fact the plant being rear guard is about as good as it could get for her right now. She really keyed off about the loss of her powers but even with out them she's getting by. I'm now getting an image of Pinky and the Brian. Need to drink less coffee. :$
Korash the Spiky
That's pretty accurate, Skyscale, except his arms reshaping his hands into blades and spear points as he fights the anti-psionic field effect that keeps causing them to revert.
Mjesecar
We'll see how things go whenever I get to meet up with everyone else. At the moment, I'm a naked black Kobold with a small army of Shadows. :-)
Korash the Spiky
That's what you get for playing a race that wears clothing...
Miss Isabela Calista De Romano
Isabela has a nice red shirt, nothing bad ever happens to any one in SiFi in a red shirt right!.
Just me having a bit of Paranoia
Skyscale
Now Skyscale wanting a blue shirt is a little more funny. As blue uniforms are for science and medical in Star Trek...
Miss Isabela Calista De Romano
Guess that's it for today getting bed time for GM, see you today.
Ameo Wanstell
I believe Ameo may be lost. He is wondering around naked being stealthy, yet has no idea where he is going.
Korash the Spiky
And, of course, I continue to enjoy playing a race that naturally grows leaves in place of clothing.
Ameo Wanstell
There is one thing that I learned back when I use to DM. That is that the players are always unpredictable and will always break whatever you have planned.
Miss Isabela Calista De Romano
golden rule of GMing
K.I.S.S
:}
Skyscale
Nope. That's of writing in general. For me, I try to call it inspiration. Though, often, I don't fully know my influences until they hit me in the face.
Ameo Wanstell
Party rules are as follows:
Rule number 1: Always split up the party
Rule number 2: NEVER SPLIT UP THE PARTY!!!!
Skyscale
Related. I once had a dungeon that was basically four hallways around a central room. The corners had rooms with a second story, and the central room had a second story. The second story was all connected, as was the first. The characters legitimately got lost, as all of the stairs leading up and down got them confused, I kept telling them where they were, and even gave the rooms obvious names and purposes. Sometimes I just don't know. :p. Finding my way around in things has generally always been easy, though at times, I'd love to have had more information.
Miss Isabela Calista De Romano
I ran a CoC game set in 1950s USSR, where an alien time device had been turned on in a Gulag complex witch was now full of multiple time zones in multiple rooms, the party split up and kept then meeting themselves at fifarent moments in the same hour, players had a grate time remembering what they had said and done both ends of such meeting, I even had one poor guy with 3 of himself in the same room at the same time. So funny, the guy was a great sport playing himself as I had played as his PC when they had 1st meet, it all worked out and the turned the thing off. It could have been very confusing but because I was playing future them, I give hints v there own PCs on what they needed to do.
O I have a load of games I run based on USSR Delta Green like Orginisation, called Unit 7
Starlins own UFO investigation KGB outfit, parinod USSR alien tech, yanky spy's and deep undercover agent players. O the fun.
Skyscale
Suddenly important! I may have missed it in the other thing, but how are you running initiative? Block, or wait our turn?
Vrog Skyreaver
I will do initiative like you would run it on tabletop, but I usually give people a day or two to post an action before botting them based on their seeming preferred playstyle. You are more than welcome to queue up your next action, and then I will do my best to fit it in (i.e. you might have to move and attack instead of getting a full round, so I will take your first attack and use your move action to get into range). If you have a generalized standard action that you would tend to take if possible, I would recommend that you post that somewhere on your avatar. It's also a good place to say things like : I always power attack (or combat expertise), or things like reactionary abilities (like spellbreaker). I will assume that if possible you will always try to use any special abilities you have (such as using standstill if someone provokes an attack by moving away from you).
Finally, if you fail to post in a week or more, I will move you into the realm of npcs, and resolve your combat actions as descriptive text as opposed to dice rolling.
of course, all of the above is predicated on no communication: should you say something to me, I will do my best to run things accordingly (using the guidelines above).
That answer your question?
Miss Isabela Calista De Romano
sounds good to me GM, :)
Korash the Spiky
Okay so! I found some art online that sort of describes what I picture Korash as, in case people fighting with him are curious.
Miss Isabela Calista De Romano
Nice images, looks cool
Miss Isabela Calista De Romano
So gm do the run like little cats from a 3d world restarant?
Korash the Spiky
Hmm, I actually thought the small one was more fun. But I googled a bunch of images of plant people and picked my favorites.
And who doesn't like redaction?
