Miss Isabela Calista De-Romano
yep I think that played out well, Isabela may be very smart but she has no idea about things like magic, it just brake's all the laws of her world. The waving of hands and saying of works to make things like PSI powers work just makes her think your using some kind of back would Voodoo that has nothing to do with real Psi-powers, witch doctor stuff.
The fact you then got it wrong and hurt her makes her think that even more.
With the tech she kind of has part of a grip, her people use tech based around Psionics but till tech, this stuff is so beyond that she is finding it hard. But a door is still a door, a gun is still a gun. Right now she is a but worried about the implants and suit, how ever 'needs must' She just wants to get out of this building and back back home.
Skyscale
At least this isn't Sliders. That show was rude.
Skyscale
No. I enjoyed the show. Well... the first season or two. Like most television I just... stopped watching and goodness only knows why.
I meant that the show was -rude- to the characters. 'Hey, look. You're home! And everything you ever wanted is completely true... except for this one thing over here...'
Also. I do believe that is the first time I've ever seen a failed craft roll for making a box. IN fact, I think that's the first time I've ever seen someone try to -make- a box. XD
Miss Isabela Calista De-Romano
Sliders man that's going back, like Quotum leap,
"Hay ya mate gets home but not you"
Mind you Torchwood, yerr now that was rude.
"Every one here dies young" Yikes
Doctor who can be like that, all happy then WTF!! this is a kids show??
Now TV shows that left me, FireFly [how could they can that!! and SPACE ABOVE AND BEYOND" o well Bab 5 was fun, for a wile.
Skyscale
Trufax. If you type in Captain Jack in google, it will autocomplete with Harkness before it will autocomplete with Sparrow. At least, that's what I discovered years ago. All was right in the world.
He was so my mancrush. And he ages well. :P
Skyscale
I now have a reason to care about DC television besides the fact that it is 'comics'!
I've been watching Gotham and The Flash and Constantine... just because they're -on-. I'd been told Arrow wasn't anything special. I was lied to. I am so there. John Barrowman... <3.
Korash the Spiky
The thing about Firefly is that while I loved it, they did a great job of making it work as a stand-alone season with all the loose ends wrapped up.
And Arrow isn't an amazing show, but it's much more fun than any of the other superheroes on TV right now (at least if you skip the first 4-6 episodes).
Miss Isabela Calista De-Romano
What I. Interested in is the DC / Marval fight fir hearts and minds.
Wile Marval locks up film, to a great extent right now DC are going long game, placing thire supers in the public mind v tv then when Marvals Fire dims as it will after so much of there stuff hitting the screams , DC steps in and dos there turn. All over the next 10 years, at the end of this supers will be like westens, over done and gone, wile doctor who will carry on doing its own thing. And new ideas will take hold.
Korash the Spiky
The way I see it, DC tends to have better stand-alone heroes, but their teams make a lot less sense than Marvel's.
Vrog Skyreaver
I enjoy arrow probably more than I should. They have solid storytelling, and Oliver goes from being a killer to swearing not to kill and dealing with the repercussions of both.
The first 2/3rds of the first season took a while to get going, but after that on it's worth watching. The flash also is a spinoff of Arrow (he appears sometime during the second season).
Skyscale
And he visits Arrow in episode one or two as well. So there's that. :p
Vrog Skyreaver
back to the business for which we are all here. Mechanically, here is how the stuff you all found works:
the rifles require 2 button pushes to prime to fire (a swift action). After that, they fire like a normal rifle. You don't have a power source for them, so it remains to be seen how they are reloaded. They are a ranged touch attack with a maximum range of 1000', and do 1d10 electrical damage, with a x3 crit. They are an exotic weapon proficiency, but if you have EWP (firearms) the non-proficiency penalties are halved.
The orbs allow communication between anyone wearing them currently (basically they default to "broadcast", as opposed to "broadcast to only these people"). They also have defensive capabilities, but your group hasn't really explored those yet.
That just leaves the power armor. Much like the rifles, they require a double button push (still a swift action) to get actually moving. They come standard with a double rack of missiles, plus other weapons that your group has yet to experience. As Isabela can attest to, they are really fast (the one that took off was clocking in at over 100 mph before she left it), are capable of independent action, and have other capabilities that are not yet known. There are 9 more pods left.
Vrog Skyreaver
Oh, and I wanted to make a separate post to say: GO AHEAD AND LEVEL!
remember that we're doing max HP for each level, and let me know if you want to do anything.....weird. or if you want suggestions based on how/what your group has encountered and done so far. The alien language is not a valid choice for linguistics.....yet. I will certainly let you know when it is.
Skyscale
What are the most fitting skill points for organically leveling up my Dragon? :) I can foresee leveling things he's always cared about, but there is also the leveling of things he's done -here-. :)
Vrog Skyreaver
I would say perception (as you have been nosing about a bit with everything), Heal (you have shown compassion to the welfare of others, including someone who was already dead before you interacted with him), Fly (cause you do that a bit, and every bit helps), Linguistics (so that you can take a common language; this would be my suggestion for all of you so you're not so dependent on Isabela to do the heavy lifting, communication-wise).
Skyscale
I think Sky will go with Korash's whistling. We'll pretend he's figured out that Calista is repeating herself to Korash, and he'll learn that way.
:) I'll try to have my level finished by tonight.
Skyscale
XD. Draconic isn't a bad choice, especially if I choose to have sky take the roar powers. One of them let's HIm scream bloody murder in Draconic. XD
Skyscale
Yup! No mention of positive energy.
Also: thematically, kobold, troglodyte, lizardmen, vishkanya, samsaran... And probably several third party options for my form. Not gonna be easy. Luckily, with also taking animal form, I don't need to powergamer the option too much. I'm leaning heavily towards skybold or skylodite. Though the snakiness fits vishkanya well.
Ugh!
Skyscale
Yeah, even on race-building. :)
Vrog Skyreaver
As I said in the recruitment thread, feel free to powergame as needed. I tend to run mean combats (see also the spidercats) and I don't plan to run as many (although with that said, I think you guys might end up starting some fights I wasn't counting on, cause pretty much every group I've ever run for does).
Skyscale
Blaming Calista in advance. :p
Skyscale would -never- do such a thing :p
I'm not big on optimizing. I just -hate- being subpar. It's an important distinction for me. I'm fine with playing all sevens for stats,as long as I enjoy the character. Add that one person who wrecks everything, though... :)
I feel it'd be funny for Sky's humanoid form to be the smallest in the group, though. Then go reptilian squirrel and live on top of Korash's head for additional laughs.
Ameo Wanstell
Sky it is funny that you say that. I was considering a familiar that trys to live in Korash. I decided on more spells instead.
Korash the Spiky
Are we going with "point of linguistics to learn a new language" now? If so, Korash will probably also take Draconic, since it's the language he's been hearing the most.
I like to optimize things other than obvious combat ability (for instance: Korash (from his backstory) is optimized to non-lethally disable large creatures, but not exactly optimized for damage).
Skyscale
I -love- optimizing for that one obscure side thing. "Who was the stealthiest character you've ever seen?" "Easy, Lynn." There you go :P
But then there are folks that have 34 hit points at level 1 by mixing feats, traits, class abilities, racial features... you get the idea.
Korash the Spiky
I mean usually I'll min-max for something like Profession or Perform skills. This guy I just decided to try "not a monk, but wears the same amount of equipment." May eventually get +Wisdom to AC, but it doesn't seem too necessary in this campaign.
Skyscale
+18 HP
+1 BAB
+1 Linguistics
+1 Heal
+1 Perception
+1 Fly
+1 UMD (Makes sense to me :P)
Humanoid Form(Su)
Animal Form(Su)
Edit:
Breath Weapon increases to 9d6,
Forgot size -penalty- to hit previously; Attacks are now proper dice rolls. (totally cheated for +1 hit. Or maybe I didn't and just can't find the place that +1 was coming from. Whateves.)

Korash the Spiky
Daaang thassa lot of hp.
Also, one of these days I'll find a magic shield, maybe, and combat will get more fun.
Skyscale
Frisbee!?
Also, I'm thinking of moving his favored class bonus into a skill rather than HP. I mean, yes. 18 is a huge number. But on the other hand, so is 17. :P
Korash the Spiky
I've never put favored class bonuses into HP for any character... hmmm...
Since it's a 3pp race, though, sort of wondering if I should've asked for some other race's favored class bonus.
Skyscale
I pretty much never have either. I'm usually a Skilled player -far and away-. I like being able to roll for situations. For this, I wanted to turn things on their head. Being a wall of draconic might fits, but at the same time, I made him curious and interested in things. Now that he's gotten away from 'climbing, swimming, flying, digging...' being his life, it makes more sense to expand his knowledge more, I think.
Previously, he just wanted to be the biggest he could be.
Also:
Skyscale will gain about a foot in length over time. :) Linear growth!
I'm sure Taninim have Favored Class bonuses... but I don't own the book...
I'm gonna rectify that.
Miss Isabela Calista De-Romano
Keeping her class as is,
5 more HP
Saves now 3/3/6
3 more powers all 5th level one from 9th level feat
7 more skill points
with two new skills
1 Kn Tech Alien +10
2 Use Alien tech cha none class skill, so she only has it at +3
now 96pp/day 9th level manifester
GM I want to take the Alien language what should I call it?
Skyscale
Hm. There's a lot of fairly interesting stuff here. Like Feykin start as Tiny. That's kind of crazy.
Lung makes them serpentine and takes their wings, but lets them manipulate weapons normally; and you still get supernatural flight from the Paragon.
Skylord makes you not hate dragons, be better at flying, and fighting in the air... the list goes on.
Every class can take an archetype that basically grants Dracomorphosis at a cost from the class. Taninim who take the Racial Archetype are always considered to be taking favored class.
Example: Fighter: Replace the Fighter's weapon mastery class ability, and bonus feats gained at 1, 6, 12, and 18.
A feat lets them take a second draconic essence.
Extra Defense: Prereq: Have Draconic Defense.
Gain another Draconic defense, you can take this multiple times.
Gift: Same thing.
Extra weaponry: Gain two uses of your draconic weaponry per day. Usable multiple times.
Latent draconic stuff lets you gain a limited number of exemplar class features with other classes by spending a feat. (1/5 levels)
The sorcerer Archetypes together are pretty cool.
If you're interested, I can share more info, Vrog. :)
Edit: XD They have rules for Hoards and bonuses for keeping one (while being in your lair), the size of your lair, bonuses based on your size versus other taninim (because bigger clearly means you're the boss)...
Skyscale can claim a lair that has a radius of 25 feet times his character level (225 feet). He has to keep other Taninim out of it for 30 days for it to be 'his' though. XD (Lairs seem pretty Overpowered though. So while it's funny, I don't think it's wise to use.)
Vrog Skyreaver
@ Isabela: as I said in my leveling post, your characters can't learn the alien language yet. You haven't found the proverbial rosetta stone that will let you learn what the geometric shapes that the aliens use as a language mean yet.
@ skyscale: You're assuming that someone else hasn't claimed this lair yet....BWA HA HA...
seriously though, we won't be using lairs (although you can think of this as your lair if you wish!)
Skyscale
I bet the word Infirmary is Circle Circle Dot Dot!
Sky probably plans to turn the armory into his lair if no one else convinces him otherwise. Like by saying it's theirs. There are shelves -everywhere- for anything he -would- want to collect. It's perfect. Except for that door that lets -anyone- that knows how to touch a panel (which is obviously very few people. That's a very intelligent design) in.
Skyscale
Sky is learning tree.. but I'm more going to have him trying to understand it than trying to speak it. His draconic awesome requires that he not show weakness in his ability to be verbose. :p
Korash the Spiky
I don't think you can actually learn Korash's language yet, since he hasn't spoken it once in anyone's presence. He and Isabela are communicating using a plant-ish dialect of Sylvan.
Skyscale
I'd meant the sylvan whistly thing that was being used. :)
Vrog Skyreaver
sorry guys. feel free to continue "talking" amongst yourselves, but my work week was crappy, so i'm giving myself the weekend off (I had projects get dropped in my lap last minute that I then got yelled at for not having been on top of, so good times). We'll resume as standard on Monday morning (which might be Tuesday evening for you, depending where in the world you are).
Skyscale
I felt 'yelled at' was probably a euphemism. I've never been yelled at by a boss. A teacher? Totally. :P
