Skyscale hates to break it to you, but the implants probably have nothing to do with your condition. They probably keep you young, vibrant, and beautiful. Also, sustained. It is much more likely that you and everyone else on the ship are within a sort of nullpsionics-field, that's not always on. As the DM suggested, long ago, the time frames in which you can use effects seem to coincide with one another... or so I believe.

But that's just Skyscale the alternate-reality genius's perspective.

I wonder if we could damage the spikes, so they become useless, freeing her from the effects. If I used all available spell slots, I could hit is with 35 castings of magic missile, for a grand total 175 missiles that always hit the target. If I target the spikes, perhaps that could work and not kill her.

Hardness applies in that particular instance. If it's got hardness 5, the magic missiles don't do anything. :(

We don't know, but it seems -incredibly- likely, that they have hardness. See, the thing about advanced tech, is that they'd probably at least be using titanium for this purpose, which has a higher hardness rating than steel, which is at 5.

Titanium is Mithral. Tolkien never outright said it, but he implied it; just use the Mithral stats for that. (Adamantine being, then, any really advanced modern alloy).

Magic Missile specifically can't damage objects. Maybe Isabela should train ranks in Profession (brain surgeon)?


The amount of time it takes to get your implants out depends entirely on where your group goes and what they do when they get there.

I should have both lists finished today (I'm mostly through the potions, and the wands should take less time). I did get hit with a bunch of new projects at work, but I've gotten them under control.

And magic missiles can't target objects anyway.

Seriously though, collating lists of magic items has been a bit of a trick, even with a system.

One thing I will mention that seems to have been missed is that there were no items that facilitated communication (i.e. no scrolls of tongues, or helms of comp. languages).

Actually, I don't think anything that showed up as Psionic was intended to. It was more 'this is an analogue of something you can understand'. I think we just found one of two hoard-areas. There's probably more, as well. I'd say a 'tech', 'psionic', and 'magic' repository... then probably a knowledge one, as well. DM pointed out that we didn't find any spellbooks, but we didn't find any books at all, from what I can tell. And nothing listed was mundane, that I can remember. Maybe there were bags or something?

Sky has a light load of 520, being a large quadruped, with a 22 strength.

Assuming wondrous items weigh an average of 3 pounds (I'm probably erring on the heavy side), staves and rods are 5 pounds each, with Isabela carrying the rings, Ameo the potions, Korash the wands, and carrying none of the armor, 374.9 pounds of objects in Sky's Crate of Draconic Might™ 2.0.

Most likely, I'll need to trim some of that for the crate itself, plus the gorilla, as that only leaves 145.1 pounds before I enter medium load.

Alternately, Sky can probably carry all of it just fine, at medium load, and just put the crate down every fight. Sky is only carrying sixteen pounds outside of this. Which brings him down to 129.1 pounds left for gorilla + crate. But he wouldn't leave the gorilla. And the crate is absolutely necessary.

The armors, all together, add up to 746 pounds. If we want him to carry those as well, he jumps straight up to Heavy. And I also don't think that his crate has enough hammerspace for that.

Double post of shame!

Sky could also wear one of those light armors to bump his AC by 4, but as he's nonproficient, it would drop his to hit by 3. It would also free up the bracer slot for the unidentified #21. Which may be better or worse.

The thing is, that's a -3 to all of sky's cool stuff, for +4 to not-die. I'm torn. Advice?

All of the potions that are of real value on-the-fly were already taken, aside from the healing potions. You guys are much more likely to need those on-the-fly. Otherwise it's just neat effects. Ant Haul would be good for Sky in the right events. The stat-buffs are good when we can use them, but need to be rationed. Invisibility would have been hilariously neat.

I feel it's significantly better to give them all to one person who knows what they do, and knows what they're carrying, so they'll remember 'I have this potion for just this situation' so they can pass it to someone, rather than divvying it up.

So if we run into a stumped situation, then we'll have that list of things for that person to find a solution with.

Also, if it wasn't intended to be a possibility, DM: There's a comprehend Language potion in there.

Edit: Also, Ameo: He does have a ton of HP, so he can afford to take hits, but he's just a wall of HP, he doesn't have any of the regenerative capabilities everyone else does.

Thats why I really think you should take atleast one of the cure moderate potions. I can cast the spell, so its silly for me to have all those. If I wanted to burn up all my spell slots, I could do a lot of healing.

I'd say Skyscale isn't going to tank with AC regardless, so it might not be worth it.

Also, it's UMD 20 to use any wand, so I guess we can just stick all the unclaimed wands at the bottom of Skyscale's bag until we get a Quiver of Ehlona or something like that.

Yes a loading bay, but for what? the only thing we have seen that could be loaded onto this ship is 'US' its a loading processes bay for 'us'.

We are the cargo Sky. The devices could be a means off the ship back home Or and set of computer terminals or more lickly medical auto doc's

devices designed for our use outside of our cells, all other stuff was for the capturers or stuff taken from us. I have a feeling they are the Auto Doc's used to processes us, to place implicants in us and wipe our memory's.

Also, I tend to respond in whichever thread I am spoken to, but on occassion, will move the discussion to the thread I feel it belongs in, as well. So no hard feelings, you don't have to explain why you'd shift the conversation to the room it goes in :p

The reason I put the 'discussion' section in the Gameplay tab was so that you would have a higher probability to see it as you saw Ameo's actions, thus having a chance to respond to it, if you looked at gameplay and not discussion.

Also, yes, that is precisely why I think we would all remember the location. It's some portion of their 'processing'. If everyone goes through it, it is near the location where we are either physical brought aboard, or beamed up, or what have you.

Given the size and scale of the facilities, I would think either the vehicles being super fast are super-fast for a reason, or they have some other form of fast travel.


Yep, with the ship having some kind of computer information infrastructure I think once your at a terminal and have access your in, our suits seem to be terminals to a point but the only way to know is to check them

No Sky and sleep, Implants it has to be why we have them, I am also not holding out for true Psionic items. I have a feeling this race has little or no expirance of psionics, its why magic works with the implants and pisonics don's. They just don't know how it works.
Also it would be very hard to mind whip Isabella as they would have to also nuft her Psicystal which they did. Its her mind backup so they locked it away. They really do not want us to know what happened to us and that is what worried me. If they are benevolent what the F do that?

Unless it's a reality show. And that seriously makes sense.

On that note, though... I really do think there will be a second room, and even a third, probably more, to hold the other objects that make sense.

Also, what happens to a psicrystal when its owner dies?

Korash can take the Hunter's Band, if nobody else will use it.

And plants are immune to sleep and poison, hence Korash's assumption that he must have been dead rather than spent a week unconscious.

Also, Skyscale: Isabela has picked the perfect time to use the potion. It would be no help used to hear the language—but now, with Autohypnosis, she can memorize the place and meaning of every word written in this hangar (that's 2500 words over the duration of the potion).

Now, with Autohypnosis, she can go back again after the spell's worn off and memorize all the symbols... and suddenly there's a dictionary in her head, which she can search through with her Linguistics skill. It might not cover the whole language, but it should cover the technical words related to operation of electronics, vehicles, and space travel, which is the tricky vocabulary that we'll eventually need most.

See, that assumes that it's not just the same words repeating. If all she learns is 'car' 2500 times... :P

It just seems like a much better use to have used it in one of the other rooms that had wall-screens and such, rather than a room with random machines that we have no understanding of.

I mean, even if it's her learning all the relevant words for controlling a truck fully, that still leaves us missing a huge chunk of their language. Go, stop, left, right, reverse, tons of numbers... but 'remove implants'? That's very unlikely to come up in the manual of a vehicle.


I get it sky, you think she used it in the wrong place, but I thunk this through, right now we are walking around we have items with us and tech in front of us, rooms to the sides and a room we have been in. Also she wants the Implants OUT, sky is not suffering he's as happy as a big in mud but Isabella is in constant pain from the Psionic interference running thought her brain. Its been will and concentration that's been keeping her going. She wants that gone, this if she is right is where the implants where fitted and so if she can she will try and get the pain full things out. If not it's still a win, she gets info and can still start on the language.

The only reason I said anything was because playing a high-int character means noticing things the player would not, you know? :) I don't -think- I'm right, I'm just sharing what comes to mind. I have absolutely 0 belief that I have things figured out that the DM has put time and effort into obfuscating. :p I just like to share my ideas.

My intellegence isn't super high, put I am quit charismatic and wise. And be cause I am wise, I put a good number of points into Linguistics.


With She kept skill points aside while she is leaning the local language, fully pumped with powers she will have +16 Linguistics and telepathy. Add cultural adaptation she can use ounce her implants are out [that is if they ARE thing things Stopping her powers] she will take like a native. She was after all and Ambassador Agent for the Blood clans so communicating and understanding to Aliens is kind of her thing. Down side is she is not so good in combat, ok a couple of mega powers that do high DMG but then she is out of power points. Tech is her only way out at the moment.

This is my favorite part of running a game like this: watching the players guess. I will say that at least one of you is somewhat close to one of the mysteries at hand.

That being said, we're talking about beds for medium-sized creatures. Which is odd, because they have had beings the size of Skyscale in the ship, but no bed his sized here.

And I am also surprised that Ameo did not take even comprehend languages when he leveled, but I can't play people's characters for them =D
