The adult wyverns immediately spot the giant eagle upon the air, intruding upon their territory. The juveniles shriek and squawk as they hear the clank of Thorek's invisible armor.

The hobgoblin riders take no notice of the party's approach, busying themselves with morning meal prep so they can quickly break camp. They don't even hear the sounds of Thorek's armor, drowned out by the howls of their draconic wards.

Go ahead and roll initiative and post your actions for the surprise round. The adult wyverns are going to use their actions to take flight and intercept Undari.

As it is unlikely Undari will go before, like, anyone else, he will probably be in the middle of an aerial fight on his turn, assuming the wyverns have the movement to get to him. I'll have him cast a spell--burst of radiance on the clump of hobgoblins if the wyverns don't get to him.

Let’s say Undari dropped off the riders a bit further away and is coming in from a slightly different angle within a good dive-bombing height…So a charge diving is 2x movement, but he doesn’t want to be too high above the treetops, so let’s say at least a half move up and no more than 1.5x, so between 40 and 120 (3d40) elevation for his 80 speed….

The wyverns shriek their beastly war cries and ascend into the sky to charge at Undari.
They strike with teeth and tail against the transformed druid, but he evades every attack.

Some GMs need to fudge rolls to spare the party. Others can't roll above a 10. Sigh.

The blinded hobgoblins fumble around for their gear, frantically preparing them for unseen danger.

Meanwhile, the hobgoblin who is merely dazzled takes up his bow and readies himself to fire at the first blurry figure to come into view.

Thorek and Undari can act, then Esperanza and Lily can take their next actions.

The wyverns tear into Undari from either side. Their stingers both pierce his thick plumage, but he is immune to their venom. Though he shrugs off their taloned wings and the first one's jaws, Undari finds himself gripped by the teeth of the second.

One wyvern continues to tear into Undari with tooth and talon whilst the other one, despite Undari's beak, keeps him gripped in its jaws - grinding down with its teeth and raking him with its talons.

Undari definitely takes 23 damage from a Bite with a 31 to hit and an automatic bite damage from the grappling wyvern. Assuming a 25 and 24 hit him with the -4 Dex he gets for being grappled, he also takes another 11 damage from other attacks.

The hobgoblin rider still with some manner of vision shouts in Goblin, directing his blinded comrades to redirect their fire at Esperanza, having just nimbly launched herself up the rock face.

Their arrows whiz past her, so the dazzled hobgoblin steps forward and draws his bastard sword.
However, even without her own weapon drawn, Esperanza dodges the swings.

Dazzled Hobgoblin bastard sword vs Esperanza, swing 2: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 8 - 1 = 10

The wyvern with Undari in its grasp lets out a triumphant roar. The giant eagle goes limp in its jaws, so it releases the druid from its grasp. Undari falls like a meteor and lands heavily, with a frighteningly sickening sound, upon the jagged rocks lining the mesa below.

After successfully maintaining the grapple, the wyvern deals 15 damage to Undari with its natural bite attack. It then releases the now-unconscious Undari and lets him fall, resulting in 26 points of fall damage.

The other wyvern swoops down and flies towards the rest of the party, preparing to attack from the rear.

Thorek easily evades the wild swing from his blinded opponent.

The hobgoblin with most of his eyesight left manages to land a lucky blow upon Esperanza with his bastard sword. However, she stays in the fight and returns the favor, parrying the foe's second swing and delivering her own bloody wound.

The first swing is a nat 20, with a confirmation roll of 30. Assuming that a total of 30 hits Esperanza with her various bonuses, the crit will deal 26 damage. Either of Esperanza's parry rolls will beat his second attack, though, so her riposte hits.

The last, blinded hogoblin shows some indecision before finally dropping his bow and drawing his sword, preparing to advance.

The party, now down one druid, may act.

Invoking a battle prayer, Thorek bashes the Ironfang in front of him viciously before turning to check on Undari, concerned by the wyvern's shriek.

A 30 will just hit.

Esperanza stumbles at the sound of Undari's body crashing to the ground, opening a gap in her defenses. Reflexively, she strikes back at her attacker, even as she turns to confirm what she already knows. A cry of anguish escapes her throat, but it is already transformed into a wordless raging scream when she whirls back to the Ironfang troops unlucky enough to be within her reach.

Esperanza throws herself upon hobgoblins with brutal, killing blows, entirely free of any grace or beauty.

Lily's face just goes completely white seeing her comrade die which causes her aim to go wide. "Everyone.... Please don't tell me he's dead... No... Can't be," she starts muttering to herself.

@Esperanza - With the hobgoblin's penalties from being blinded, your 14 confirmation roll misses by one! That would have finished him in one swing! Dang!

Esperanza lops the head from her first foe then steps to the next, coming within a hair's breadth of disemboweling him if not for a fortuitous step the hobgoblin takes, saving his life for now.

Two swings from Thorek's dorn-dergar pulverizes the hobgoblin before him, distracted as he was by Lily's trickery.

The wyverns swoop down and charge the remaining interlopers. They dive with their tails, but Thorek and Esperanza - filled with a fury from their friend's demise - easily evade or deflect the incoming stingers.

If Thorek and Esperanza's weapons currently have reach, you can each make an AoO on the wyvern charging you.

The remaining hobgoblin regains his eyesight just in time to see the furious battle close at hand.
He lashes out at Esperanza with his heavy sword, but she blocks the strong blow.

The party can act again.

Lily definitely regains a Panache point because...

Thorek's swings pulverize the wyvern's skull, who practically never saw the death blow coming thanks to Lily's impassioned feints.

Are Esperanza's regular attacks aimed at the wyvern or the hobgoblin?

Esperanza spins around to deliver a deep slash against the wyvern that has swooped down behind her. She stands her ground as they assail her with tooth, claw, tail, and sword.

If a 30 hits Esperanza, she takes 8 damage from the last wyvern's tail stinger and needs to make a DC 17 Fortitude Save against its poison. A non-confirmed nat 20 from its bite deals 24 damage. If a 30 from a hobgoblin hits, she takes 9 damage from its sword.

The party may act again.
