setting aside a large illustrated magazine I had been carrying around with me for the last few hours I finally look up and say,
"Oh my gosh the latest issue of Goblins is so riveting. I couldn't put it down, a real page turner, and, and, it just leave you hanging on the edge of your seat waiting for the next issue. Will they make it? I don't know. I hope I have enough money left after we're done to pick up the next issue. Anyway, I've finished this one, does anyone else want to read it? So, what did I miss? Did someone ask me to do some kind of healing? I'm not really good at that sort of stuff, not at all, but I could try next time we need it. I feel like I've kind of sung my self silly, you know, like I need to give the pipes a bit of a rest. I've got the bow, and I'm pretty good with it, and the sword if I can remember how that thing works again, oh yeah I do. So what's going on? A chest, locked, but no key eh, let me take a look at that lock."
perception check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
"It doesn't look like a complicated lock, should be a snap for anyone who understands mechanical devices. I know it can be unlocked with the right touch. Or we could bash it off if we have to."
"OH Jeepers! Min! was something trying to eat you again? You've teeth marks all over you. Wow, you must give of a smell that monsters can't resist. I suppose I could carry the wand if you need me to."
I'll carry the wand, no problem, and try to post more often. As I am only a level 1 bard and a level 1 fighter I'm not much of a heal bot and would prefer to not use cure light wounds unless we had no other options.

Yay, Wags is back! Now we can get into some real trouble!
"Aye, Waggly, it seems a troll tried to finish me off, but it seems he couldn't take all of me mighty girth! Min says with a wink.
"Do none of us know how to pick locks? Ah, well, nothing brute force can't handle!"
Min shuffles through his pack and pulls out the crowbar he has been saving for just such an occasion. He carefully places it in the crease of the chest, and tries to force it open.

So it is, I missed the crowbar bit and didn't notice
The chest contains 1,200 sp, 480 gp, and a gold tiara worth 350 gp
In the rear of the cave, partially blocked by a pile of rocks, is a small passageway. It is too small (only 4 feet high and 4 feet wide) for a troll to negotiate, but could have been used by the orcs. The tunnel winds into the hillside for a hundred yards or so, then takes a sharp drop down, all the while remaining low and narrow.
Min Maximus
Min states dumbfounded at the open chest.
"Why... so I did! Of course I did! Ha! I told y'all there was treasure here!"
Min thinks to himself a bit and then says quietly to no one in particular:
"Hmm... I reckon that these here orcs have been coming up from the same tunnels we was in before... how else would they be able to get around like this? I wonder if they have any tracks about that would lead us somewheres..."
Min searches the floor of the cave for any tracks leading to a new area.

Well, they came from that smaller tunnel I'm guessing? I'm trying to see if we could follow their tracks further on, hoping it joins up with the underground tunnels we had been exploring. Unless they were all just chillin in the cave lol.
Min often doesn't know where he is going either.
Firebeard
Firebeard looked on with interest as Min popped the top off the chest. When he saw the tiara his eyes gleamed with the traditional dwarvish delight at any such pretty crafted bauble.
At Gloin's question, he said "Bah! Seems t' me tha' we be needin' t' get back t' th' one what sent us out here t' start wit'. Tell 'er th' news 'bout th' troll, and then decide where t' go. If'n we want t' get back t' th' lake where tha' dandypants wanted us t' go, then we best be gettin' t' th' drake afore th' innkeep has th' door bricked over."
"Unless, o'course, this here tunnel connects with th' ones we was at below, and there ain't no way o' tellin' that wit'out runnin' down i'."
Gloin son of Azgal ForgeHammer
As soon as the dwarf started to talk to him gloin started to concentrate heavily in order to understand what he said. So much concentration in fact that everyone could see a frown on his forehead before answering
Well that's exactly the thing does this pointing at the small tunnel goes anywhere

Tiara!
I stare at the tiara, my eyes growing wider than is actually possibly without my head growing two sizes.
Oh my gawd, oh my gawd, oh my gawd, is that a tiara? Can I wear it, can I, can I, can I? I can be a princess! I'm a princess! Oh, wait, I suppose Lilly is a princess too, we'll just have to wrestle for it I suppose.
after noticing the rest of the treasure
I suppose that's a lot of coins to carry. Are we going to lug all that around with us and keep exploring or go back and put that treasure to some use buying better shoes? Beardy of the Flame is right. I think we need to close the curtain on this one, and then over a few drinks decide what we are going to do next.
Lilly Hennett
"Then let me carry the shiny ornament and you are ample to take that pound, providing you ample subtlety to lunadance.", she said with a smile.
Min Maximus
"Well, fellers, we know this probably connects, I saw we go back to the Inn, have some warm food and some ale, and then head to the tunnels from there. I myself think I should buy some new armor... but first, do we have any way of blocking this tunnel up here? That should keep the orcs busy for a while."

@GM Do we just half value for sales or will there be that opposing roll thing. Well I have a list of items to be sold I will need Min to come with me to carry the stuff and tell me were to go I have yet to sell anything in town and how to find the sheriff.
Ozen Helix
Lily or Wags I need some help with haggling my face is a bit frighting and merchants tend to call the guard when I haggle. I doubt you guys want to deal with bailing me out of jail so can one of you haggle for me. Oh and Wags I assume you are keeping the tiara in place of your cut of the loot.

”I’ll say. I know some producers who would pay you to sit in the wings of their plays and do that eyebrow raising thing just to scare audiences, sheesh, that’s terrifying. Okay, okay, let me see what I can do.”
I run my clawed fingers through my wild plant like hair, shake my head around a few times, lightly slap my cheecks, and then pout my lips, while practicing, the words, blubbery, blubbery, blubbery, blubbery, over and over with my mouth, then I stick out my chest, and approach the prospective merchant.
”My, what a seriously well organized establishment you have here. Do you run this all yourself, or do you hire a whole company of specialist to get this down to such a perfect display, No, get out, you do it all yourself? Amazing. I’m shocked. How do you find time during the day to do all this, and still exercise regularly to keep yourself in such great shape? You are an inspiration. So, tell me, just off the top of your head, you know, nothing firm or anything like that, but we have a whole slew of goods we, um, uh, found in a cave occupied by a vicious troll we accidently stumbled upon and had to put down for the good of every hard working farmer in the whole county, and we were wondering if you could give us a good price on these, slightly used but excellent condition arms and armor. Now, don’t try and use that famous charm on us, haha, we know how great you are at getting the best deals, so, go easy on us and give us a fair price for what we have to sell. My, it’s getting late, are you doing anything after you close up shop? My friends and I are throwing a small celebration party down at the tavern. We loved to see you there, and we’ll buy you a drink for your kindness.”

We all get 319.65 gp except Wags who gets 57.15 gp and the tiara which she can sell to make up the difference currently not counting the orc ears.
Ok, we have managed to sell the loot fairly well now we need to go to the sheriffs office to hand in the ears and then we can head to the inn and call it a night.
Min Maximus
Min will scamper off to the blacksmith, in search of finding a masterwork breastplate.
"Well, gents, this ol' scalemail tunic is getting a bit old, and I just can't seem to move in it the way I used to. Some new armor is just what I need!"
So RAW it would cost 350 gold, but I also wanted to sell the old scalemail (25g at 50%)
Upon arriving at the shop:
"G'day smithy! I heard rumor that you are the finest smith in town. I was wondering if ye had any finely crafted breastplates handy? Need a bit more protection it seems, I keep gettin knocked on me arse! Haha, say how'd ya like a spot o' dwarven whiskey? I got me flask right here, ya look like ya been workin' hard! Saw, if ya do have a breastplate, I twas wonderin if yed wanna take me old armor off me? Melt it down or whatever"
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (19) - 2 = 17
Firebeard
"Aye, a bi' o' glitter in th' pocket'll go right well. Thankee fer gettin' i' from th' merchants fer me. Now, when're we headin' down t' hobgoblin town?"
Lilly Hennett
"Ooh, currency. I'll have to ponder if i should purchase something new."
She accidentally drops a coin, which flies backwards around her legs 5 feet.
"IB, STOP IT!!!"
<Hehe....why, a little teasing won't hurt you.
But since you ask so kindly....hehehe.>
She takes back the coin and stashes it away.
