Yup, just rations for Erstehund & I. Let me know how much time passes for purposes of Spirit Tasks. :-)

The trip up and over the mountains passed with little issue, thanks to Hadran's training and Burkhardt's luck. The consistency there was just a little bit worrying. Still, after boarding another vessel, it wasn't long before you found yourself near the docks of Kintargo. The slightly more challenging part was finding someone to take you to Deepmar... since the apparent problems there meant no one was eager to go check up on it.

Hadran, The Fallen |

"Even if we can't find someone to take us perhaps we can study a map or purchase one. I should be able to get us there with a reference."

Asking around, it was clear ships were available - port cities were usually like that. Unfortunately, given the extreme worries about the prison area, getting there by ship wasn't likely to be as easy as just asking... a payment or service was almost definitely going to be needed unless you came up with another plan.

Hadran, The Fallen |

"Well I don't wish to buy a ship so it seems money is all that will motivate around here. I have a little coin left. Let us hope it is enough."

Asking around, you were eventually able to find a captain willing to dicker with you. "A hundred gold a head, twice if you want us to stick around and bring you back." he said. "Whatever's going on at that prison, my boys don't want to get caught up in it - and I can't say I blame them. Whole area's been on edge to begin with."

Hadran, The Fallen |

Hadran hands the man 22pp and 80gp.
"Very well. Here you go. We won't need a return trip. Thank you. When do we leave?"

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

Burkhardt reached for his coinpurse but too slow to beat Hadran. He pulled it anyway. "Does my faithful companion count as a head?" he asked, indicating Erstehund.

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

"That he is! Alright then, we'll meet you back here." Burkhardt then set about procuring supplies to aid those who may be alive but stranded at the penal colony.
I purchase 600 gp worth of food, water, and blankets; no medical supplies included in that price. I also procure two doses of antiplague and one healer's kit. The order they're listed is also their priority, should I not have enough time to grab it all.

Hadran, The Fallen |

Hadran helps Burhardt with the supplies. He and Midfoviing keep to themselves unless approached. They spend time training and sparing a bit on the journey.

GM Rednal |
The weather turned rough as you sailed, though it wasn't bad enough to truly threaten the ship. The storm abates as the crew calls out that the island of Deepmar is within sight. Over the prow, the island is just visible through the rain. Although not large, looking to be no more than thirty miles across at its widest point, the island is quite lush, covered in wind-lashed trees and shrubs. Sitting at the island’s southernmost point is a small colony, surrounded by a wooden palisade in front of a single, long dock. The iron doors to the colony appear closed, but no guards can be seen. Indeed, as the boat draws closer, no one can be seen moving about the island.
"You paid for one way, so that's all you're getting." the Captain said, eyeing your group with the expression of someone clearly expecting you to die in the near future. "I'll have a few of the boys row you in, though - but they're not so much as getting on the docks." Quickly said, quickly done... and here you were.

Hadran, The Fallen |

"Yes we did. You have our thanks Captain. Burkhardt shall we?"
Hadran gathers his things. As they get close...
"Midfoviing. You are our eyes. You are a loyal friend and companion. I need you again. Fly ahead and check the docks. We don't wish to endanger these men. We can swim the rest of the way if it is safer for them. Be quick. Don't engage anything you see and watch for range attacks if they are hostile."
He offers her a reassuring nod for her to depart.

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

"Much obliged!" he said with a bow and a flourish. He dragged their supplies onto the dock and waved the ship off with his trademark grin. As Hadran sent Midfoviing forth, he worked on moving the supplies down the long dock to shore and then preparing binding diagrams. Unsure of what their half-dragon ally would find, he waited before committing to any spirit over another.

Hadran, The Fallen |

"New experiences my friend. Let us go investigate and find out."
Hadran nods thanking the men again as they depart.
"It may be difficult to discern friend from foe. Subdue first unless the threat is obvious like a devil or a demon. Are we ready?"

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

"Nearly." Burkhardt chose one of the circles to complete the binding ritual for.
Prince Oszen Binding Ceremony vs DC 17: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 | Capstone Empowerment
After the rather upsetting visual of falling in a pit and being bitten by some badger-lycanthrope, he went to the gate with Hadran and attempted to open it.

Hadran, The Fallen |

"Lets go around. It may be to keep things out other than us. Wouldn't want to weekend their defense if in trouble."

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

I'm assuming this is sand or earth underneath this gate, or that there would be some kind patch of earth nearby?
"Now just a moment." Burkhardt asked of Hadran. Bones began to crack in his face and arms as they turned animalistic, and he sprouted a black-and-white striped coat. Transformation into a badger-hybrid complete, he burrowed underneath the gate and came out the other side. Shaking the transformation off, he searched for the mechanism to lift the gate and allow Hadran and Erstehund inside... and Midfoviing, if flying above the walls didn't suit her.

Hadran, The Fallen |

"Full of surprises." Hadran waits to see if Burkhardt can figure out how to open the gate.

GM Rednal |
Getting under the gate is easy enough - although it appears to be locked in the center with something quite sturdy, rather than merely barred. The designers apparently hadn't thought of anyone digging their way out, though, which may have been less of a problem when it was fully staffed. They'd definitely been worried about prisoners easily undoing the lock, though.

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

"If you'd like." Burkhardt said as he fiddled with the lock. "I'm bound to get it eventually..."

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

"I'd considered that... but Hadran made a good point that the gate could be a vital defense later. He and I don't have the luxury of flying away if real danger finds us, of course." Hadran insisted she was a simple girl. Burkhardt insisted she was a teachable one.
"What do you say we see about finding a guard barracks or mess hall? Somewhere we're likely to find traces of a struggle, at any rate."

Hadran, The Fallen |

"I agree, Midfoviing continue to scout from the air for us. We could likely stumble into an ambush or trap. Lets move."

Hadran, The Fallen |

Ah in my head he wasn't saying the above as a matter of precaution more a blanket statement of what he expected. :)
"I don't expect to find much trouble for ourselves here either. So lets move."
Assuming we are entering from A1 let's go our left and check out the big building there A13 and circle around.

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

Burkhardt eyed the girl curiously as she went up, but then focused his eyes as they headed to the building.
Agreed on A13.

Hadran, The Fallen |

"What is that?" Hadran scoffs.
"May be there rotting dead or something. I will take a quick look inside."

Neither of you were able to successfully identify the creature-
Init: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
-but as it moved to attack, you were much faster off the mark. With an angry snarl, Midfoviing launched herself right towards the creature, only to pass straight through its body and slam into the wall behind it, badly denting that part of the structure. (Luckily, that place didn't seem to be load-bearing.)

Round 1
Acting on suspicion, Burkhardt drew a big breath before loudly booming "ǝɹnʇɐʇs ǝןɐɥ sʇı ɥʇɐǝuǝq buıpuɐʇs ʍopɐɥs ʞɔɐןq ɐ, buıʇɥbıɟ puɐ ʇıɟ sı ǝsɹoɥ ǝɥʇ!"

Burkhardt spoke something hard for others to quite grasp - but going by his expression, he wasn't actually expecting anything to happen yet. Hadran's blade, on the other hand, was able to strike the creature - but its incorporeal form was resistant to most mortal magics. Damaged - but far from dissipated - the shadowy thing reached towards Hadran... and chills took hold.

Round 2
Continuing to boom his voice in odd tones and intricate language, Burkhardt said, "ssǝuʞɹɐp ןןɐ buıɹǝʇʇɐɥs ʇɥbıן ʇuɐıןןıɹq s,ʇı 'uɐɹpɐɥ puoʎǝq ɹıɐ ǝɥʇ sǝʞoɥɔ ǝɯɐןɟ!"
Amplified Incendiary Remarks Truenaming Check (DC 13+2): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
Any creature striking Hadran in melee receives 1d4+1 * 1.5 fire damage for the next 5 rounds. Wouldn't matter for the shadow but if other creatures show, any time the flames deal max damage the affected creature needs to make a DC 19 Fortitude save or catch fire a la alchemist's fire. New TDC for Incendiary Remarks is 17.

GM Rednal |
Only Hadran's first blow was able to strike, and as it did, it sunk deeply into the Shadow's body. Even so, the damaged creature had not yet fallen, and it continued to reach out and try to consume his strength and grow stronger from it. The fire... didn't seem to be deterring it quite yet.
Melee Touch (Hadran): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18 for Strength Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Whiiiich... I believe hits because his rage reduces his AC by 2.
As it touched him, fire burst out of Hadran to settle over the creature, although it was quite obvious it wasn't going to do much to the shadowy form.
Fire Damage (Shadow?): 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 x1.5 = 4. And halved because it's incorporeal. XD
