Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

FYI, I'm leaving for a road trip next Wednesday, June 7th, and will be out of town until June 18th. I will likely make some posts from my phone but expect it to be sporadic as I won't be bringing my laptop. On top of that, looks like my fiancée and I will be buying a new vehicle this week (which, with wheelchair accessible vans means we're driving a little way to and from the dealership)... and my best friend is getting married this weekend... so it could be as early as tomorrow that my posting becomes unreliable. I know we generally don't in this game, but you may still feel free to bot me to move things along if desired. Thanks!

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

It's actually just unicode! Be careful though, because I forgot to fix the brackets and it ended up eating all of the converted text (I also tried to include some in this post, and Paizo seems to be fighting me on it...). So the post you see there was my second take on it... which, boo, I was very happy with how I worded things the first time around and the version you got didn't live up to it in my mind.
Anyway, here's one handy converter, and here's another!

Hadran, The Fallen |

Hey guys FYI: I'm off on vacation tomorrow. I will be at War for a week. Pennsic War, SCA. I will have my phone and will check in but not sure of service up there. Will resume regular posting on the 13th.

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

I know Hadran’s on vacation but just wanted to check in; my computer doesn’t stay plugged in very well and its battery went dead on Saturday. My new battery should be here tomorrow, so I should be able to catch up before he comes back but if I don’t, that’s probably why. Thanks for your patience. :-)

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

Ready for you, Rednal.

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

When all's said and done, we either we end up in a fight worthy of the gods, or we gain some new followers. As a player, these are both desirable outcomes. :-)

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

Oh yes, absolutely what I'm driving at. That is the kind of fight this player deems worthy of the gods. :-D

Hadran, The Fallen |

Would it be possible to retrain a mythic feat? Dual Path does nothing right now as I haven't taken anything from Archmage, I would like to retrain it into Vital Strike as I picked that up as my 7th level feat. Would retake Dual Path at Tier 5. Thanks. We can spend some downtime here in Absalom for the retraining time and to find our next quest :)

GM Rednal |
Actually, I think I'll have to ask you to hold off on the Vital Strike line. When that (in particular, and more so than almost anything else) is mixed with Mythic powers, it's... excessive. You're already stomping things, and genuinely won't need that to keep up. XD;
That said, have you considered switching Archmage to Hierophant with Dual Path, assuming you don't want any of Archmage's stuff?
(The main reason is having Inspired Spell or Wild Arcana, which gives you access to basically the full list of arcane or divine spells, depending on your class. Most notably, these include a lot of situational powers you might not otherwise have access to, but that can be very helpful for solving various challenges. There's only two players in this game, so having flexibility for solving problems can be more important than, say, doing more damage.)

Hadran, The Fallen |

I had not considered, but that's fine on Vital Strike. I want it to be part of his grand build in the end as it seems fitting for what he was in his eternal battle against the abyss and the 9 hells.
I will look into the other stuff, I have regular vital strike listed now as my level 7 but I may change that and take it toward the end game.
On End Game: We were thinking Level 20 Mythic 10? Right. So like another 5 years of game or so :) Not that I want it to end but I can try and be less short sighted. :) Thanks.

Heads up, I might want to look at retraining my cavalier side of the gestalt soon to incorporate Spheres of Might. I haven't really come across a way that seems 'worth' it going full cavalier (not in a way that doesn't mess with Erstehund), but I like enough of the flavor that I don't want to ditch the class entirely. But his fighting style isn't something I've been super happy with either, cuz I've always kinda viewed Burkhardt as a bareknuckle brawler as seen by my first take on the build. It's not something I'm looking to do yet (probably come winter, when I have a little more time to fiddle with options), but just as a heads up.
But for now, thoughts on the level up?

Hadran, The Fallen |

Hurication is over. We have power and we are now back to work. I will be playing catch up. I hope to read through and make a game play post. Thank you all for the patience. We were lucky and just had debris with no damage at home.

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

I got knocked on my butt by some influenza last night, so I’m going to be out till at least the middle of the week.

Hadran, The Fallen |

Sorry all, home computer died on Friday night. I then had 2 days of work training to start the week and have been playing catch up. I will be back to normal tomorrow sorry for delays.

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

So, Rednal, how do you feel about your players going through adventures that have been spoiled for them. It has come to my attention that the pharasma quest that you’re about to send us on is the same module my fiancée has been prepping for an upcoming game that I’m in... I’m good with doing it in both games, but since I realized that this was coming, I thought I’d bring it to your attention and hear your thoughts.

GM Rednal |
I don't want to spoil the experience they're planning for you, and I can certainly change things up so that these are essentially different adventures. One of the nice things about this game is the flexibility. It's really not hard to modify content - and, in fact, sometimes I have to given the kind of capabilities your characters here. XD
(In fact, the original adventure points out that you can significantly expand on the base idea to produce a much larger adventure. The nature of the quest makes it particularly easy to change things up without losing the core idea.)

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

Okay! Cool, yeah, I'll be going ahead in both games then, so have some fun tooling around with it. :-P

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

With Hadran's absence, I'll then not push past this roleplay (as I was attempting to do). But as mentioned in our other game, I'm gonna take this opportunity to let relax about posting and will display a sense of urgency behind it either. :-)

Hadran, The Fallen |

Back from war. Spent the morning on work emails. Have a meeting this afternoon so will make a game post tomorrow looking forward to getting back on track.

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

Welcome back! :-)

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

Hey all, I'm on vacation and won't be getting home for another week. I'll be able to post probably Wednesday or Thursday of next week.

Hadran, The Fallen |

Rednal how we doing? Just checking in. As before not going anywhere and breaks to keep the creative juices flowing are fine with me. Hope you both are doing well.

Hadran, The Fallen |

It seems we have died. :(
Sorry Rednal we had a great 5 year run. I hope we can play together again.

Burkhardt of the Versed Vows |

Indeed. Ashe/Hadran/Taka/Havark, it's been real! Probably going to be a while before I look for a game on the boards here again, but I hope we play together again someday.
Rednal, thanks for the fun couple years! It was good to game with you, and thanks for the hard work you've put into keeping your games going as long as you did. Take care!
