The rules on pg. 196 states:
Big Creatures and Cover: Any creature with a space
larger than 5 feet (1 square) determines cover against
melee attacks slightly differently than smaller creatures
do. Such a creature can choose any square that it occupies
to determine if an opponent has cover against its melee
attacks. Similarly, when making a melee attack against
such a creature, you can pick any of the squares it occupies
to determine if it has cover against you.
However the example on pg. 194 seem to contradict this:
#3: Kyra attacks at range, and
must pick one of the corners
of her square to determine
cover. Some of these lines
pass through a solid surface,
meaning that the ogre has cover.
It looks like Kyra can easily target the top right ogre square with no penalties. what am I missing?
Also, do both characters have partial cover if they are at the corner of a wall and diagonally apart from each other?

Thanks. I think I got it now.
Cover for ranged attack means any part of the target even a large target is blocked by a straight line from a corner of the attackers square gives target cover.
Cover for melee attack means any part of the target is blocked by a straight line from a corner of the attackers square gives target cover. However if you have a complete square of a larger creature that you can attack with no cover then the target is not in cover.
I guess I just needed to read it three times to comprehend!
