Ok, will be creating an elven rogue4/fighter2 type with a battle skirmisher in mind. Will likely be using weapon finesse over strength but we will see how these numbers look.

Cha: 6d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 1, 4, 6, 5) = 19 = 15
Wis: 6d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 1, 1, 2) = 15 = 11
Int: 6d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 2, 2, 2, 4) = 20 = 14 (+2 Racial) = 16
Con: 6d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4, 4, 1, 3) = 22 = 14 (-2 Racial) = 12
Str: 6d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 5, 5, 6, 5) = 27 = 16
Dex: 6d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 5, 3, 6, 6) = 28 = 17 (+2 Racial) = 19

extra just in case one is low
6d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 5, 3, 1, 6) = 23

This looks pretty good to me. I will complete the character edit later today if not this evening. I am currently at work shhhh! ;)

6d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 5, 1, 5, 5) = 26 =16
6d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 5, 2, 6, 5) = 26 =16
6d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 2, 1, 5, 1) = 18 =14
6d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1, 1, 6, 2) = 19 =15
6d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 6, 5, 6, 3) = 25 =17
6d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 2, 1, 4, 6) = 18 =14

Dwarven cleric of Desna incoming.

Dotting for interest. If I can find the time I will get a character up.

6d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 1, 5, 2, 5) = 20 (16)
6d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 6, 6, 6, 6) = 29 (18)
6d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 5, 5, 6, 1) = 27 (17)
6d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 6, 1, 5) = 24 (17)
6d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 1, 5, 5, 5) = 26 (15)
6d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 1, 1, 6, 4) = 15 (12)

dotting for interest. will get a character up for approval soon..

6d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6, 1, 1, 5) = 18 = 14
6d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 6, 1, 1, 3) = 21 = 16
6d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4, 2, 6, 5) = 27 = 17
6d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 2, 5, 2, 6) = 23 = 17
6d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 5, 1, 3) = 16 = 11
6d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2, 1, 3, 6) = 19 = 14

One Dwarf Cleric of Desna 5 / Fighter 1 for consideration.

Crunch is in the profile. Fluff to follow. Is there anything in particular you want to know regarding background?

Question for wizards; Do we start off with every cantrip published or just the ones in the Core?

Not a question for wizards, but for the DM. Since the srd states that some of the cantrips are from rare sources and DM's should not consider them general knowledge, I skip them from my list. I can always add them later, or select one as a level up choice.

BTW, this character is

READY FOR APPROVAL

The background is malleable, and can be built to suit knowing other players or anythign the DM needs.

I see him as wanting to come to this land to find a place where he can continue his arcane studies with less structured oversight. The lands are already blighted, so an arcane explosion or two isn't going to be noticed.

Of course, for the DM. Pardon me, English is not my first language, I should have said a question regarding wizards for that is what I meant.

Another question for the DM; What challenges can we expect to face? Is this like Kingmaker in that it's mostly wilderness exploration and politicking or can we expect dungeon crawls or ruin exploration? I'm asking 'cause it's all to easy to burn 16000 gp on magic gear and I don't want to be carrying around a rope of climbing or wearing gloves of swimming and climbing just for looking good.

Edit; Also how do you handle weather and rations as a DM? Will this factor in?

@ Dark - Demon-spawn is fine, no feat needed. If you take the feat you can roll on the table.

@ Razorstorm - I'll let you know later when I have some time to look at it.

@ Torin - No, just make it interesting as possible.

@ Peitry - All the non rare, buy scrolls for any others.

@ Sigz - It will be mostly wilderness exploration and combat. Politics are possible, but that's up to you guys and how you interact with the other 'actors' in the region. There will also be the occasional ruins to explore. Weather will exist but not play a huge roll, it's all messed up in the Worldwound anyway. Rations are gonna play a role, you should either buy your food before you set out from the keep or be prepared to obtain it some other way (hunting, magic).

--------------------

To people with a character for approval, I will get to it later tonight I hope. Heavy day of work today so not sure exactly when.

Sorry DM Jelani I will get the rest of my character done asap. Its been somewhat crazy here as well.

6d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 2, 5, 5, 2) = 21=16

6d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 1, 2, 4, 1) = 16=12

6d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 1, 6, 3, 4) = 21=14

6d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 4, 4, 2) = 20=12

6d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 3, 4, 2, 6) = 23=16

6d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 2, 6, 4, 3) = 22=16

Thinking about an Asaimar Paladin. Don't think I'll take all 6 levels in it though. Probably 5 in Paladin, 1 in something else. Not positive yet.

DM Jelani, how long do you plan to keep recruitment open? Just want to make sure before I decide to make a character concept.

GM, if Jin makes it in, I need to pick my Black Blades bonus language. The Book says it's GM call.

@ Grand Moff Vixen - Recruitment is never going to close. If I already have three groups out running then the only thing for you to do will be sit in town and RP with other players sitting in town, but I'm not going to close recruitment. I'm sure some people will play for a while then leave, others might die, etc. You will be responsible for setting up your own groups in character. My only limitation at this point is one PC per person, just so the most people get to play. So unless we get more than 18 people actively wanting to play at once we won't run into problems, even then as harsh as the wastes are I doubt parties will be staying out in them for more than a week or so (game time) at first. Once more of the wilderness is tamed it might be possible to stay out longer without starving or getting killed, we'll see.

@ Razorstorm - Inspiring commander is fine.

-------------------
Characters:

Dorialis Vdalik - Couple things. PCs aren't allowed to craft Wonderous Items so why take the feat? Your familiar should have 10 HP (half your HP, rounded down). Also headbands and circlets take up the same magic item slot, so you could only wear one at once. Last thing is I need a backstory and description of personality and appearance.

Kenan Borjigon - Looks mostly good. I'd like to see more backstory and a personality and appearance description. Your horse can't take those feats. He could take power attack and improved overrun as his 3rd and 5th level feats, but until he gets Int 3 charge through is unavailable.

Animal Companion Feats:
Note that animal companions cannot select a feat with a requirement of base attack bonus +1 until they gain their second feat at 3 Hit Dice.

Animal companions can select from the following feats:

Acrobatic, Agile Maneuvers, Armor Proficiency (light, medium, and heavy), Athletic, Blind-Fight, Combat Reflexes, Diehard, Dodge, Endurance, Great Fortitude, Improved Bull Rush, Improved Initiative, Improved Natural Armor, Improved Natural Attack, Improved Overrun, Intimidating Prowess, Iron Will, Lightning Reflexes, Mobility, Power Attack, Run, Skill Focus, Spring Attack, Stealthy, Toughness, Weapon Finesse, and Weapon Focus.

Animal companions with an Intelligence of 3 or higher can select any feat they are physically capable of using. GMs might expand this list to include feats from other sources.

Jin Takashi - Intensify spell is a 3rd party feat, so that's out. Also, even if it was in you couldn't intensify a shocking grasp as it's already a touch spell, and if you could it would make it a 3rd level spell slot. Same thing kinda for the rime frostbite. It would take up a second level spell slot not a first. Also, is your black blade a scimitar? Other than those things, it looks good. I like your backstory a lot, but can you explain how you got your black blade?

Updated Animal Companion:
- Attribute Bonus from Con to Int
- -Charge Through +Dodge

DM Jelani wrote:

Apologies. I meant INTENSIFIED Spell which is Paizo.

It raises the dice level cap by 5 for +1spell level.

Both Rime Frostbite and Intensified Shocking Grasp would NORMALLY take up a second level slot, however the traits Wayang Spell hunter (regional trait- Jim was born and started learning magic under his dad there) and Magical Lineage (again, magic runs in the family- Magic Trait)
Lower the spell cost when applying metamagic to those two spells.

For example an Empowered Intensified Shocking Grasp would normally be a 4th level slot, but magical lineage reduces it to 3rd.

The Black blade IS a scimitar, I'll right it in that it was a divine gift from Ragathiel, whom is also his patron that grants his hexes.

Jin's life has turned him somewhat dour. How could you not beafter so many years of abuse. He is also on the run from House Thrune and hopes they and their devil's would not comeafter him at the world wound. So he will be an avenger type personality.

@ Jin - That's my bad for not doing my homework all the way on those traits. I understand now.

-gets back to work on getting campaign ready-

[Ready for approval

Okay, I added the discussion thread for OOC discussions for approved characters, and the gameplay thread. So if you've been approved you can head over.

Jin - You're approved, your blade speaks abyssal. It's mission is vengeance against all the demons who have killed followers of Iomedae.

Kenan - You're approved.

Torin - You're approved.

Shadow Lodge

Jelani, not sure if you're going in posting order or not but just wanted to mention that you have not said whether I am approved or not yet. Thanks for considering me.

I asked a question about your reach evolution, was waiting for an answer first. I'm assuming it's for your claws yes? If so then all you need is a backstory/personality and I'll approve you.

Shadow Lodge

Damnation, apologies, I thought the question was directed at somebody else...

No, reach is for my sword attacks.

Backstory:
The white-haired bastard of a madwoman, Nathaniel was bullied and beaten by the villagers and starved by his glassy-eyed mother, and became a thin and withdrawn youth. His only solace was his father, a travelling mage, who had known his mother before she had been struck down. Many had seen his father call up fireballs and black lightning, and the fear kept him safe for a week, but rarely more. Only Nathaniel had seen his father break bread with a misshapen blue creature summoned with a hand on a pentacle. Unlike his body, his intelligence was honed to a finely-hewn point, and so one day, after an exceptionally hard beating, he drew the runes of the pentacle from memory and summoned up a blue monster that was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. As time went on, Nathaniel would grow close with the blue creature with which he would share an intimacy previously unexperienced, and eventually make it part of himself, two beings with a single mind and a single purpose: to spite the bullies by doing good in the world, the most good possible.

Looking at an Archon-Blooded Aasimar Inquisitor, probably with the Exorcist archetype.

6d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 4, 2, 4, 6) = 25 = 15
6d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 5, 6, 6, 2) = 24 = 17
6d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 4, 5, 6) = 27 = 17
6d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3, 5, 6, 1) = 24 = 17
6d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 4, 3, 3, 3) = 21 = 13
6d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2, 5, 2, 1) = 17 = 12

Nice! I can certainly work with that! Alias is up. Full crunch and fluff to follow.

@ Nathaniel - Ah, that was my worry. You can only take reach for one of the eidolon's attacks. The sword is not one of the eidolon's attacks as it's a manufactured weapon. If that were the case you could pick up any weapon and have reach with it for the cost of one EP. An ability that's normally associated with the much more expensive Large evolution which gives you general reach.

Reach Evolution wrote:
Reach (Ex) One of an eidolon’s attacks is capable of striking at foes at a distance. Pick one attack. The eidolon’s reach with that attack increases by 5 feet

Just wanted to clarify that before we started. You can change to a different evolution if you don't want reach with your claws. It'd still be useful for the AOOs/threatening even if you mainly fight with your sword up close. Your call.

Also, now that I read that backstory I know I've read it before. Sorry, it's my bad for not remembering. Can you paste the spoiler into your alias after your stats? After you decide about the reach and do that you're good to go.

Shadow Lodge

I have a few sources which state that the reach evolution CAN be applied to manufactured weapon attacks. One is below-

http://paizo.com/paizo/messageboards/paizoPublishing/pathfinder/pathfinderR PG/rules/reachWeaponEidolon&page=1

I would also argue that given that Eidolons have two methods of acquiring weapon proficiency- an Evolution and burning a Feat- a manufactured weapon attack should count as an Eidolon's attacks.

Backstory will be pasted into alias.

Second reference-

http://paizo.com/forums/dmtz5bzw?Eidolon-Reach-with-Weapons-Question#14

If it's still open, I'd like to roll up a half elf magus. If not, it's still an opportunity to roll lots of dice...

6d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 2, 4, 1, 6) = 23 16
6d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 5, 6, 4, 5) = 25 15
6d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3, 3, 6, 4) = 25 16
6d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 6, 1, 6, 4) = 25 18
6d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 3, 5, 5, 1) = 25 16
6d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 3, 2, 5) = 24 17

O_O

I could possibly throw together something workable with that...

@ Nathaniel - Okay, read those threads but that's nothing official and most of those people were just stating their opinions. Since you brought up proficiency, how are you getting proficiency? Don't see a feat, and you don't have Traits listed (also just noticed). Is it from the ancestral arms alternate racial trait?

Proficiency aside, I'm ruling it like this, you can take it for one attack that you got through the eidolon. Since you didn't get the falcion through the eidolon you're out of luck.

Shadow Lodge

Proficiency gained through Ancestral Arms yes, apologies for not mentioning.

Very well, i'll drop the Reach evolution and put another point into Flight to gain 20ft.

Sounds good, you can start playing whenever. Head over to the gameplay to enter the Keep.

@ Sir Notappearing - Recruitment is permanently open.

Ok "Ari Mai" is finally ready for approval.

Ari Mai on Google Docs

Put it in an alias with backstory and you should be good to go.

Has been a long time since I poseted here, but Id like to roll up a chracter to play if anyone must leave etc. It will be a 6th level dwarven ranger.

Stats

6d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 1, 3, 1) = 16 11
6d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 5, 3, 4, 2) = 24 15
6d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 3, 4, 4, 6) = 19 14
6d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 5, 2, 3) = 19 14
6d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 3, 1, 3, 2) = 16 10
6d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 4, 5, 3, 2) = 21 15

I'm interested. I can work up a concept today and tomorrow, but I will be on vaction from the Aug 16-20, and then will be able to participate. I guess we'll see how this affects me getting into a group.

6d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6, 2, 4, 1) = 20 - 14
6d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 6, 4, 5, 5) = 29 - 16
6d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 1, 1, 5, 5) = 21 - 16
6d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 2, 3, 2, 3) = 16 - 11
6d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 2, 4, 4) = 28 - 18
6d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1, 1, 2, 4) = 17 - 13

ooh off to a good start.

@DM Jelani: How does Barek look so far? I think he's close to final, apart from purchases of minor adventuring gear.

I'm interested. Maybe an unnaturally cheerful Tiefling Inquisitor that wants to see the Worldwound closed and the land peaceful again.

6d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 1, 6, 4, 4) = 22 = 22 - 1 - 1 - 4 = 16
6d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 6, 4, 5, 1) = 20 = 20 - 1 - 1 - 3 = 15
6d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 5, 2, 3, 4) = 24 = 24 - 2 - 3 - 4 = 15
6d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 3, 3, 3, 1) = 19 = 19 - 1 - 3 - 3 = 12
6d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1, 5, 6, 5) = 22 = 22 - 1 - 1 - 4 = 16
6d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 3, 3, 3, 3) = 18 = 18 - 1 - 3 - 3 = 11

16,15,15,12,16,11

37 point buy. I can work with that.

READY FOR APPROVAL

Ari Mai is now ready for final approval.

Ari Mai

Cool, I'll post him tomorrow. My computer is getting fixed by my IT, and all I have right now is my iPad.

@ Barek - So far looks good.

@ Rogarson - Slap it in an alias with a backstory and you are good to go.

@ Viorel - You're approved.

@ Ari Mai - You're approved.

I must have mis-stated an earlier inquiry. So no crafting is allowed by PC's other than consumable items?

I looked at this page to purchase my magic items. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items#TOC-Magic-Items-on-the-Body

It lists circlets and headbands as two separate slots. Are you modifying the slots available?

I have updated the other items with the exception of the one feet and the two magic items in question.

@ Dorialis - Yeah, I'm only allowing PCs to craft potions, wands and scrolls. You have to pay retail for everything else. Not just at character creation, but forever. It's more fair to people who can't craft.

You're right about the magic item slots. Yet another reminder to double check my rules calls before I open my mouth x_x

Throw a splash of backstory on there, and switch out the feat and you'll be good to go.

DM Jelani wrote:

Jin - You're approved, your blade speaks abyssal. It's mission is vengeance against all the demons who have killed followers of Iomodae.

Sweet.

Any chance it might be made of Cold Iron then? ;)
(It doesn't really matter. It's +2 already and when I swift enchant via arcane pool it's enchantment is high enough to overcome DR/cold iron or silver.)

Also Is the blade open or secretive about it's purpose?

I'll answer in the discussion thread.

Looks interesting, I'll make some rolls here and come up with a character soon.

6d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 2, 5, 1, 6) = 24 17
6d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 4, 1, 6, 2) = 20 15
6d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 6, 2, 4, 4) = 26 16
6d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6, 4, 3, 1) = 24 16
6d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5, 4, 4, 1) = 20 13
6d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 5, 3, 2, 3) = 18 11

I'll take that spread.

Here is Rogarson's alias with a back story and crunch in profile.

Ready for approval I think

Rogarson you're approved.

Barek, you're also approved.
