Well, for her turn she did nothing but step aside. Since we are still in that same initiative block I would certainly allow her to use that hex now (Ahem, cough, cough ...) if she wants to do so. ;-)

Also, Kairon, I'm not certain about AoO's w/reach weapons through allies? But it seems to me like you should be able to do that. Feel free to do so if you want.

And the code for bigger still makes it smaller. I wonder? What if I use the code for smaller? Nope, smaller as well.

As much as I would like to do so, I don't think Kairon *can* AoO the dragging spider . . . . It exited a threatened square, which does not provoke, so far as I understand it. Though the spider's feats may yet allow it . . . . No "Improved Drag", perhaps? (lol) But just in case:

His heels dragging on the sticky floor, Brother Guiness is pulled slowly but surely towards the edge of the pit. The trusty Warhammer is in his hand, BG glances at the thick strand of webbing the nasty spider is using to pull him towards his doom. Oh well, I made my choice when I drew the hammer.

Option 1:
If BG thinks the spider is blind (or can't tell if it is blind), he will try to splat it (better chance if he is attacking against spider's flat-footed AC -2 for being blind)

Sense Motive check if needed:
BG Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

"Умри, жуткие паразиты!"

Dwarven:
"Die, Creepy Vermin!"

BG swings his hammer at the yellow spider, hoping to make it go splat before it can drag him into the murder hole...

BG Warhammer Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 7 - 2 = 13
BG Warhammer Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Option 2:
If BG thinks the spider can still see, he will dig in his heels and use his turn to work hard at resisting the tug, struggling to break free of the web. Guessing BG only gets the one Reflex save (which he failed) so it is a Strength check, right?

Boudacia steps to the side and employs the slumber hex on the "yellow" Moon Spider in front of Brother Guiness.

DC 16 Will save to avoid 3 rounds of magical sleep. Just to clarify, I am moving to the same spot. So Boudacia is in the square she appears on the map. Bless our benevolent GM!

BG, The way I read it, you can make a Reflex save, or STR check, or Escape Artist check, every round to get out of the web. I'll roll the save vrs Boudacia's sleep hex first & then you can go ok?

No one has any idea if the spider has been blinded or not.

My apologies Gansu! That was a miss! I was only looking at the final number, not the roll itself. You are correct of course.

Gansu stabs the yellow spotted spider and it seems to stop moving. It is just sitting there idly. (0 HP! Disabled, but not dead - yet!)

Kairon tries to put an end to the spider, but has trouble seeing it well with all the webs in the way.

Then to Brother Guiness's horror, he hear the skittering sounds of another spider nearby! Then he suddenly realizes, he can just barely make out the form of a blue spotted spider moving next to him in the mist! And suddenly it launches a web at the dwarf!

Ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

And once again the problems of being a front-line fighter are demonstrated as for the third time a web latches on to the dwarf!

EDIT: Just remember to hit the spider in the mist, BG gets a 20% miss chance since he is only 5 ft away. Others would normally not be able to target it, but since there is clearly a web coming out of that spot & BG is probably giving some sort of indication that it is there, you can all try, but unless your adjacent, it will get the 50% miss chance.

If I am following this correctly, BG can go ahead and take his turn since the spiders ahead of him in initiative are dead.

Various dark mutterings in mixed Dwarven and Common arise from the mound of webbing formerly known as Brother Guiness. "Blasted webs" and "Cursed critters" are among the more palatable utterances, as the mound writhes in frustration...

As the blue spotted spider approaches & prepares to launch its web at the dwarf, the dwarf swings his hammer smacking the spider viciously! But when he tries to swing again after being webbed, there are just too many webs for him to see clearly.

By the way BG, if i am not mistaken your miss chance should be 1-25, not 20, since the miss chance is 25%. I know I'm not very good at math, but I'm fairly certain that a 25% miss chance comes out as 1-25 on the d100. ;-) AND I loved the "mound of webbing formerly known as Brother Guiness"! Hilarious!

Not that I would ever expect my fellow gamers to cheat, but there is a very interesting thing I learned about percentage chances while GMing my first campaign on these boards. They're pointless... Well, at least rolling them here is pointless, because you can preview your dice rolls, and then change the language within the operation of the dice roll. For example.

50% Miss Chance: Result < 50 = Miss: 1d100 ⇒ 94

See? I rolled first, previewed to see what the number was, and then changed the language of the dice roll, and the website makes no indication that the dice might have been fudged. Which is fine, because the dice weren't fudged, but I waited to see what I rolled before calling out what I wanted to be a success... I don't know what to do about that problem, except to set up specifics of miss chances ahead of time. For example, we could all agree that for a 20% miss chance, low is always the miss, and so on. Now, back to your regularly scheduled arachnid showdown.

Kairon tries to attack the spider in the mist but he feels his spear as it just glances off the spider's carapace. AC 14 people! Come on!

So, for the miss chance, I could say I will roll them all, but that could cause a delay, not to mention more work for me! WHAT?! More work for the DM? That's no good! ;-) So how about we say 1-20 is a miss & 1-50 is a miss? Sound ok? Good.

I'm at work (yes on a Saturday! SUCKS!!!!) so I can't look up the rules, but I'm fairly certain that for hexes you have to have line of sight & the blue spider is still technically obscured by the mist. I can double-check when I get home, but I'm doubting the hex will work.

But I am before my computer. It does not say so under supernatural abilities, but I am sure you need line of sight. I wasn't sure fog would block it, it only irregularly stops sight, hence a miss chance, but fog is explicitly mentioned as blocking line of sight where that term is defined. QED I can't use the hex. My mistake. I am out of relevant spells so will just sulk. :(

Folks, especially Gansu, I realize it was difficult to see it on the battle-grid, but let's not forget there is a huge hole in the middle of the floor. I drew a new black circle to make it obvious. Gansu, you would not be able to stand in the square you had moved to so I moved you back. Feel free to reposition yourself. The spiders can be at the edges of the hole because they can climb up the side walls. *** Also the black spider you're attacking is the one that is asleep thanks to Boudacia, so you could move around it without taking any AoO's, OR you could make a different move and attack the blue spider that is threatening to drag BG down that hole of certain death. I'm so generous that I'll even let you keep that attack & damage! Let me know which you want to do please? I'll hold off on blue spiders turn for now.

And Boudacia, you still have the Misfortune hex don't you? No reason you could not use that on these spiders. And on your turn, I will allow you to use hexes on the blue spider inside the mist, but there is going to be the 50% miss chance.

Just going to wait for a response from Gansu before we move on.

Ah, okay. No, I did not notice the pit on the map. And the spider does not have the unconscious symbol on it, so I didn't realize it was asleep.

I will let Tamlara coup-de-grace the spider (since she can add sneak attack for that).

Can I move through Guiness' space even if he is stuck in a web? I can't hit the blue spider from where I am. If not, is it possible for me to attack the webbing holding Guiness without hurting him? If so I will try that. If rolls are required you can use the rolls from my previous post.

Sorry, I did forget to put the 'unconscious' symbol on the spider. I've corrected that. Ass far as moving through BG's space, yes, I would say let's consider it difficult terrain since your maneuvering slowly & carefully so as not to get entangled into the webbing yourself. Since the spider is busy maintaining the 'grapple' with the webbing, no AoO either. And then from the other side you could attack either the spider or the webbing. For speed sake we'll say you attack the spider. Gotta go to wok. I'll finish this post later! Sorry.

Okay, so far calls are slow, so continuing from work. And we'll say you attack the strand of webbing instead so that you don't have that 50% miss chance, unless you want to take that, then roll it.

Gansu carefully works his way past the mound of webbing that is the dwarf, and then swings his sword & cuts the strand of webbing that was pulling on the dwarf.
