Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

Donovan and Dorla stop Thetsu before be blunders over a trapped section of floor. There's no telling what it would do.

Dorla examines the trapped floor section more carefully. She tries to find out what the trap is, how it's activated, and how to disable it.

What rolls do you want for this? Does the perception roll that found the trap give this information?

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

Dorla can't tell what the trap does just from looking at it, it would need to be triggered to show its full effect.

It is activated by pressure plates on the floor, five feet square each. If you could either hop over the pressure plates (slightly more difficult than usual due to the wind), or stick something under the plate(s) to prevent it (them) from depressing, you could pass.

Dorla slips a few coins under the edges of the pressure plate.

Disable device: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21

Edit: oops, forgot to add the bonus from masterwork thieves tools. On my phone, so can't find the bonus.

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

Dorla fails to disarm the trap, but avoids setting it off.

arrrgh, I forgot that my mutagen changes skills that are dex based. The bonus should have been two higher. If that's not good enough, Dorla tries again.

1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

That +4 you forgot just edges it out, yes.

Dorla shoves some coin shaped pieces of steel under the edges of the trap, and prevents it from being depressed.

Half-Orc Zweihander Sentinel 8; Hp: 95/105; AC 27 (FF 25, touch, 13), Saves +14, +8, +11; Init +1, Perc +6

Can we proceed kid?

Dorla again moves forward slowly and carefully, looking for more traps.

Dorla:1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16

Chirrup: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21

Ick, my rolling stinks today...

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

Anyone else helping?

As Dorla goes further into the room, she notices the hole in the middle is entirely uncovered, and a razor sharp fan blade spins at incredibly high speeds within, causing the wind.

Thetsu keeps an eye out for additional traps as well.

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

Assuming Donovan and Ugash Take 10 to get this show on the road then.

You move forward, carefully edging around the large open hole. On the other side, the wind is now at your back, and pushes you forward as harshly as it pushed you back earlier.

Unfortunately, with this increased haste you stumble across another trapped floor tile, noticed too late to avoid stepping on it.

The wind stops, for a moment...

Everyone make Reflex saves.

Donovan and Thetsu swiftly leap to safety as an iron grate drops down to block both doorways. Ugash and Dorla are left trapped isnide the fan room.

What's worse, it begins to spin backwards, even faster than before, and draws Ugash and Dorla towards it from the force of the suction.

You are pulled 10 feet backwards and cannot move forward. You are 10 feet away from the fan blades. Make me another Reflex save, you two.

Dorla squeezes a spider sac toward the grating near their companions. It's liquid, so hopefully it can fly against the air currents. As it hardens, Dorla grabs the rope it forms. If she grabs on successfully, she grabs at Ugash.

What is this?

Regardless, the wind is at "Windstorm" levels now. Ranged attacks are impossible.

If Thetsu extends his staff, you get one final reflex save to grab on.

Going to take that as a Readied attack for when you're within striking range of the fan. Bad things will happen if you get that close though.

http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/goods-and-services/herbs-oils-oth er-substances#TOC-Spider-Sac

Would using this need a ranged attack? The idea is like throwing a rope with a grappling hook, but because it's liquid, it might have a better chance of reaching the goal than a solid rope with the wind.

Final reflex save if Thetsu helps:
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30

OK, the bad rolling streak ends just when very badly needed...

If Thetsu extends his staff and Dorla grabs on, she reaches for Ugash to try to help him.

edit: What I mean is Dorla holds on to the staff with one hand and reaches the other toward Ugash, as long as she doesn't feel herself starting to slip.

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

"For the purposes of climbing, treat a spider sac as a grappling hook except that all surfaces are AC 5." So yeah, it's a ranged attack (Grappling hooks need a ranged touch vs the surface).

Dorla, being highly intelligent, and a ranged specialist, would realize this at the last moment, so you can keep that in your inventory.

Male Vanara Unchained Monk 9 HP: 94/94| AC: 29[31] FF: 25[27] Touch: 23[25]|Init: +4|Fort +12[+14], Ref +13(Imp. Evasion), Will +13[+15](+2 vs Enchantment)| Sense Motive +13, Perception +17(Scent)

"POWER POLE...EXTEND!" Thetsu yells as his staff magically extends towards his companions, giving Dorla the chance she needed to grab on.

Pfff, now it's gonna seem like his idea... Thetsu internally grumbles.

Thanks, Thetsu! thinks Dorla as she reaches for the staff.

I already rolled the reflex save for this, and came up with 30. If that isn't good enough, I'm in real trouble.

If Dorla wasn't busy trying to survive, she would be giving Donovan a big glare...

I have reach.

Keep forgetting you have a Reach weapon as your main.

Ugash mangles the fan, warping it to the extent it screeches against the sides of the walls and grinds to a halt. Ugash falls prone from the sudden release.

Damage to weapon: 9d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 3, 1, 6, 4, 3, 1, 3) = 24

Ugash's Lucerne Hammer receives a slight nick in the blade.

Slight correction though, Adamantine weapons don't ignore the first 20 points of Hardness, they ignore all Hardness less than 20. Hardness of 20 and above is not reduced in any way.

She also falls to the ground safely, along with the end of Thetsu's staff.

Dorla picks herself up, walks over to the grate, and tries to find a way to open it. Chirrup flutters excitedly all around Thetsu, alternating between giving him affectionate, gentle pecks and singing a funny little song in his little voice about 'you saved her, you saved her' to Thetsu.

As soon as Dorla gets the grate open, she hugs Thetsu and thanks him. She also talks to Ugash, expressing her gratitude that he thought to destroy the fan. She makes sure that everyone is uninjured.

Does anyone who is slightly hurt want a potion?

With the trap disabled, Ugash can easily slice through the steel grating blocking the way forward, and rejoin the others.

You descend even further, being roughly half a mile underground now. From ahead comes a faint red glow, a bubbling noise, and a rising heat.

Hey, guys, do you want to wait a minute while I mix up something for the heat? It feels like it's getting pretty intense.

Dorla gave Ugash a potion of cure light wounds before we started journeying again.

Thetsu relaxes against the wall. He busies himself with checking his gear and fitting his goggles over his eyes.
Lava huh...we must be pretty deep. Thetsu idly thinks to himself.

"So where're you from Donovan?"

Dorla mixes up four infusions of endure elements. Remaining elixers for today 1/3/0. Dorla gives everyone an endure elements. Thetsu is carrying an enlarge person, Dorla is carrying 2 fly elixers.

Scavion was planning on posting something about where he's from, but he can ret-con it in as having been said in his next post.

You proceed, the room getting hotter and hotter as you do. The room ahead is filed with a magma-like substance (Though anyone with Kn. Dungeoneering knows they are not quite deep enough underground for pockets of magma to be appearing yet).

There is a very thin "bridge" over the stuff, a less-than-a-foot wide piece of stone 20 feet above the magma. The room is filled with a sulfur smelling smoke, and would likely interfere with your breathing were you to proceed any further.
