Rynjin |
Just remembered something: You seem to have forgotten the +4 to Fly checks from having a Good maneuverability. So you're fine.
1d2 ⇒ 2
The creature decides to flail at Thetsu this time around.
Attacks: 2d20 ⇒ (20, 11) = 31
Confirm?: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23
The Delver slams Thetsu once successfully, then tries to grab onto him.
Damage: 2d6 + 15 ⇒ (4, 2) + 15 = 21
Grab?: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (1) + 24 = 25
But fails to find purchase on the slippery Vanara.
Y'all are up.
Thetsu |
*THWACK*
"No. *THWACK* Unacceptable. *THWACK* Your strikes are too wide. *THWACK* Your stance not refined. *THWACK* Plant your feet more firmly." His Master struck him for every imperfection.
Thetsu remembered the scene fondly, oddly enough. He remembered the pain, the sudden furious seething within his brain. Of the moment he turned to strike his instructor in his frustration and was rewarded with a bloody nose and being sentenced without even the small amount of food the monks ate for a week.
The following week, the practice boulder crumbled before his fists.
Swift Action switch to Pummeling Style. Total damage before Damage Reduction.
"Too wide."
Flurry: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32
Damage 1: 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (10) + 16 = 26
"Refined."
Attack 1: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (20) + 14 = 34
Critical Confirm?: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17
Damage 2: 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (10) + 16 = 26
"More firmly..."
Attakc 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Damage 3: 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24
Reflexes: 3d20 ⇒ (3, 17, 20) = 40
Thetsu spits his words in between his strikes of renewed vigor.
Donovan Egoblade |
"Tsc... I only have a million of these left!"
Donovan slashes at the creature's hide with a newly formed wakizashi.
Wakizashi: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 35 damage: 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Confirm: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23 damage: 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Reflex: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Wakizashi: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13 damage: 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Reflex: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Rynjin |
Thetsu pounds the Delver some more.
Ugash misses again.
Donovan hits once...
4d8 ⇒ (8, 6, 3, 7) = 24
And his Wakizashi melts, making him unable to swing it again.
Gimme a few minutes to eat, it may or may not be dead but food's cooled enough.
Dorla |
Is it dead? Or is it going to come back together or something and come after us?
Assuming it's dead, Dorla takes care of Thetsu's injuries.
Dorla gives Thetsu 2 potions of cure serious wounds. They each heal 3d8+caster level. Am I correct that caster level for a potion I made is the lowest level possible, so in this case, 7, because level 7 is the earliest I can make level 3 infusions? If so, between the two potions, Thetsu gets back 6d8+14 hit points. If that's not enough, I have plenty more. I'm assuming Thetsu will roll his own healing. If everyone is willing to wait a minute, after Dorla takes care of Thetsu, she uses her last level 3 elixer for today to make a fly to hold for the next battle. Remaining elixers for today 5/3/0. 13 bombs left today.
Thetsu |
Healing juice: 6d8 + 14 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 8, 1, 3) + 14 = 35
Thetsu flops on the floor, tuckered out.
"Ugh, my head hurts."
Thetsu |
"Well we wouldn't be treasure hunters if we were deterred by a dead end."
Thetsu starts feeling along the wall of the dead end for super secret passages.
Take 10 for a 26 at first.
If he doesn't find anything at first, he takes a few more moments pondering the wall before giving up.
GIVE ME SIGHT BEYOND SIGHT!: 3d20 ⇒ (16, 2, 8) = 26
Highest roll was a 32
Thetsu |
FEH!
Thetsu looks about the dead slug abomination for anything that might have survived it's acids and thus might have some value.
Perception: 3d20 ⇒ (14, 12, 16) = 42
Highest is a 32. Again.
Donovan Egoblade |
Oh, right... I saw the post when I was on my phone and forgot to post here once I got home... My bad! :P
Donovan casts Detect Psionics
I take 10 on Spellcraft (total 26) & Kn(Psionics) (total 27).
Rynjin |
This is an Extending Rod.
It acts as a +1/+1 Darkwood Quarterstaff, but can be extended on command to a length of up to 100 feet, and can shrink to a quarter of the width, or grow to twice it, either becoming more flexible with length or retaining its rigidity. When laid flat on the ground it can be commanded to anchor itself slightly, not rolling due to sloped ground or light pressure, and making it an excellent balancing pole.
Donovan Egoblade |
"Well, Thetsu... You might enjoy this! It allows you to beat stuff up from far, far away." says Donovan as he hands the staff to the Vanara monk. "I suppose you prefer to use your fists, but this ought to come in handy against flying opponents."
Donovan Egoblade |
Well, it can only be used as a weapon at its normal size. Or, well, I'll say any size it could be wielded as a weapon by the character using it.
Wait... So you give us an extending staff and says it can't attack when it extends?! Isn't that considered psychological torture? I'm pretty sure there's something about this situation in the Geneva convention...
Dorla |
I don't have a good sense of how time is passing as we wander around this cave. My mutagen is good for 80 minutes, and I drank it just before we entered the back of the first room of the cave. Do I still have much time?
If my mutagen is almost used up, is everyone willing to wait for an hour while I make another? That is, if I can make more than one in a day. I hate to be the one always asking the party to wait, but I seem to be the only one with lots of time dependent or uses per day kind of abilities. The extract of fly I'm carrying now is also my last for today.
Thetsu |
If we wait an hour we might as well wait for 2 hours and Ill get all my rage rounds and Ki back. But no I dont believe an hour or even 30 minutes has passed unless Rynjon says so.
As a sidenote I freakin love Ki Metabolism.
Rynjin |
Ah, no. You've been in this case for under 10 minutes now. about 2 minute of walking, followed by 5 rounds of frantically running from worms, followed by 2d4 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4 rounds of Disabling a trap, followed by 2d4 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7 rounds re-arming it, followed by a few minutes of walking, and then 2 rounds of combat, and 1 round of Thetsu pounding a rock, and 3 rounds of Detect Psionics and a Spellcraft check. So that totals out roughly 7 minutes. Your first Fly is still up.
Like I said...Mutagen can be considered to just last "long enough" for our purposes.
Rynjin wrote:Well, it can only be used as a weapon at its normal size. Or, well, I'll say any size it could be wielded as a weapon by the character using it.Wait... Hmmmmm.
Add this clause:
Three times per day, as a Swift action the pole may be extended to grant 15 feet of Reach for one round.
Dorla |
Actually, the first fly was used in the battle on the way here, several hours before we arrived. Thus, I will assume that I am carrying two infusions of fly, and the second that I drank soon after we got to the cave is still active.[ooc]
[ooc]I'm OK with investigating either of the remaining tunnels back at the fork.
Donovan Egoblade |
Donovan pushes the group towards the tunnel from where they can hear the sound of breezing wind...
Rynjin |
You start walking down the rightmost tunnel, and as you walk the wind starts to pick up even further. After a while, it gets hard to walk, though you can manage.
Is anyone carrying a torch or lantern to see by?
Donovan Egoblade |
"If only we had a 10ft-pole... Or some sort of extendable staff to probe the pathway..." says Donovan with a facetious tone. "Well... I guess I'm taking the front."
Dafuq do I see? :)
Rynjin |
Donovan leads the rest of the group ahead, slowly. The corridor finally ends in a large, circular room.
Donovan can just barely make out a hole in the center of the floor, and what seems to be something spinning in it.
Edit:
Dorla lights a sunrod because Thetsu's torch has gone out.
I assume that they aren't affected by wind...
If something happens to my sunrod, can I make an extract in the dark? I would want to make darkvision and drink it.
In this case:
Everyone can see the above.
Thetsu |
Thetsu looks about the room cautiously and approaches carefully to look at the spinning thingy.
At work, roll perception for me.
Dorla |
Dorla also approaches carefully, looking for traps on the way, and also at the pit. Chirrup is out on her shoulder to help look around.
I'm only rolling one perception for each of us until I hear that you want more.
Dorla's perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
Chirrup's perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25
Donovan Egoblade |
Donovan summons his psionic abilities to see what else he can perceive.
The usual take 10 in Perception (26) and Sense Motive (23)... Plus Detect Psionics & Detect Hostile Intention.
