smiles and reaches out to scratch the faerie Dragons head thats because you are cute

Hush Luca, that's all old news and of little interest to these fine folk. The simple fact of the matter is that I had been tasked with tracking down a spy in the elven court, and I had to make use of a bit of deceit as I followed the trail. I remain faithful to my wife.

He brushes a speck of dirt off his sleeve and turns back to the group.

I do not mind waiting if that is our decision. I can even have Luca create a minor illusion to hide us when whatever made those tracks returns. Or, if you like, I have a plan that may or may not work, but at least it will give us something to do while we wait. What say you all?

F Half-Elf Were-Tigress

"Cute doesn't count when it stinks. Well, it was worth a try. I will have to remember that though. Migaron could use it in one of his crazy temple designs.

It looks as though they don't actually walk through the door with it open, perhaps when it opens it actually magically transfers you from one side to the other? Hmmm. No riddles left behind either. Have any stories from the past that might have secret doors and such? My world has one where 'open sesame' would open some wondrous cave. A few years ago, before I got stuck here someone found a cave and the password was 'open says me'. So ancient stories might give a clue."

edit
She looks at Aelaeron,
"And this plan doesn't include seducing people does it?"

female human Cleric(of Shelyn) 17/Mythic 10 hierophant

Oh Aelaeron, I didn't know I'm sorry about the barb, I never was good at jokes, I'm so happy i have some one so devoted to love in the party
manages to scratch Lucas' head smiling

I think that Chirinide has the right Idea, I think that we should wait till someone or something comes into the or out of the door.

1d20 + 19 ⇒ (2) + 19 = 21 stealth roll

something had to have made these tracks. I wish that my tracking ablity was a little better so I knew what type of tracks these are.

blends into the shadows and waits, till something happens.

F Half-Elf Were-Tigress

Chirinide touches the door, then says to the door"May I pass, please"

female human Cleric(of Shelyn) 17/Mythic 10 hierophant

She goes back to leaning against the wall and returns to softly singing the Bear and the Maiden fair

Perform:Sing

LOL but seriously

The door doesn't respond to you asking it nicely to open :-(

So as a whole the party has decide to wait am I correct?

female human Cleric(of Shelyn) 17/Mythic 10 hierophant

I'm thinking we...are...I think

I'm Ok with it. I have no better ideas on how to open it?

F Half-Elf Were-Tigress

If plan B is deemed to noisy, sure, but we could be waiting a long time. Might as well try other things in the mean time.

"Should I set the alarm for audible or silent?"

Chirinide casts alarm on the area with the star then heads back to the big room and memorizes the look of the opposite from the door then hangs the portable hole on the wall then climbs inside for a nap.

female human Cleric(of Shelyn) 17/Mythic 10 hierophant

Watches Chirinide Disappear into her portable hole. Zaldane shrugs and slides her self down on to her butt, She slides her hood forward a bit more covering her eyes, an d leans her glaives haft on her right shoulder her hand not lessening her grip

Frozen Stream Human Monk/12

I'm voting wait!

Gelik scratches his forehead then tries to approach the door step-in-step with the tracks, hoping there might be a trigger somewhere.

Perception to find a pressure plate or a hidden trigger in the stonework
1d20 + 22 ⇒ (8) + 22 = 30

"Perhaps the door is controlled from inside? So when the servants or whoever usually comes in arrive, they are recognized and let in. Maybe we should disguise ourselves somehow?"
Survival to check who the tracks might belong to
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (10) + 16 = 26

waiting seems to be our only option if all else fails...

Your unable to figure out what specific type of humaniod the tracks are you are sure its not goblins, orcs or trolls or its like but not much else.

You find no pressure plates or hidden triggers in your search of the ground.

The party realizing not much else can be done finds itself in holding pattern, each member finds a part of the room to hide in or relax against. Several hours go by with not a sound beyond the soft humming/sing of your cleric of shelyn and her darn bear and maiden song.

Give me some perception checks everyone

Aelaeron lounges against the west wall, halfway between the door and the tunnel entrance.

Perception: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (5) + 18 = 23

Luca preens on Aelaeron's shoulder.

Perception: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (7) + 18 = 25

Gelik peruses his formula book, wondering if he's picked the right extracts for the journey.
Perception: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33

Okay well I am going to go ahead with the what happens next, Chirinide you will need to roll your perception as soon as possible

About 9 hours go by and your all getting pretty restless. Pendin seems to be in a mediative state up the tunnel, Lady Zaldane is humming along as usual, Aelearon and his dragon seem to be in their usual mood (eg making snide comments back in forth..in hushed tones of course), while Gelik studies and Malcom waits with there backs to the walls. Pendin is the first to notice a change with the door as he hears a slight creaking come from the door as it opens up spilling light into the room about this time. About this time the rest of the part notices the door opening as well. A foul order eminates from the door and its not but seconds before you see the source, 6 gnolls that don't seem to have noticed you guys yet.

init

Drake's int 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Init: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

Frozen Stream Human Monk/12

Pendin's eyes snap open at the first sound and as he sees the doors start to crack he stands up and starts to edge along the wall.

Init 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

Frozen Stream Human Monk/12

Aw man a 1?!

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

With lightning speed Malcom straps a shield to each arm (a free action) and darts to his feet.

If possible I would also like to position myself so that t 2 of the Gnolls form a straight line to each other with no obstacles in my way.

female human Cleric(of Shelyn) 17/Mythic 10 hierophant

Init
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

female human Cleric(of Shelyn) 17/Mythic 10 hierophant

arggh a dreaded 1

Initiative: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

do we get a surprise round since they don't notice us?

Dark Archive

Male Human 666th Lvl Evil DM

happens to the best of us, Pendin. On a side note realize you are 140 feet from the door, you have a pretty big distance to cover before being able to engage the gnolls. You will probably need to spend the surprise round moving up since they have not noticed you all yet

yes you do but I still need you to roll the init so I know in what order you will be going even during the surprise round. Once we have settled everyones surprise round actions we will move onto to round 1 actions

Luca licks his chops and chuckles as he casts grease under the first two ranks of gnolls.

(DC 14 Reflex or fall prone)

Aelaeron casts shield on himself and thinks about gnolls.

go ahead and declare your surprise round actions once I get off work I will post the results as long as everyone has had a chance to declare their actions

female human Cleric(of Shelyn) 17/Mythic 10 hierophant

Zaldane gets to her feet activates as a free action her Glaives Gray flame ability and readies her self

Under her breath she offers a quick prayer May The Uncorruptable One guide my words and weapons where every they lead

Frozen Stream Human Monk/12

Pendin will spend his surprise round taking two move actions to move 140 ft (70 ft walk) and to position himself to the left(or right if the left square is occupied, directly in front if both sides are occupied) of the most forward gnoll.

Malcom jogs forward toward the Gnolls progressively picking up more speed as he approaches.

"Leave me a path so that I may break through their line!"

Malcom will take a double move forward 60 ft. to the space on the opposite (left or right) of Pendin.

Next round I'd like to make a charge attack into the mix, if you guys don't mind leaving me an opening to do so.

Chirinide quietly steps out from the hole, quickly wrapping it into her pouch. She then starts quietly slipping around to try and take the gnolls from behind.

Round 0
Gelik swiftly puts the book away, uncorks a small vial with a transparent liquid and gulps it, fading from view.

Surprise round

Aelearon you cast shield and feel more ready to take a beating. Your knowledge check reveals that these are just run of the mill Gnolls they look like what would be the norm for this area, they have tribal looking garb on and carry the usual gear. Luca begins to giggle incoherently as he cast grease on the front ranks of the Gnolls walking into the room, unfortunately of the four he was targeting 3 remain standing while the fourth drops to the ground.

Next Drake goes in for the kill on the first Gnoll he sees and nearly cuts the poor Gnolls head off with a vicious slash from his kukri that drops the gnoll in one hit.

Malcom straps both of his shields up and moves towards the gnoll moving in his direction ready to bash their ugly Gnoll heads in.

Gelik suddenly disappears after downing some sort of strange concoction and Chirinide steps out of her portable hole folds it up slips into shadows.

Pendin comes charging down the tunnel and stops beside Malcom. Lastly Zaldane stands and readies herself for the action to comes and says a prayer to Shelyn suddenly the tip of her glaive glows with a baleful grayish light.

Go ahead and declare your round 1 actions

Frozen Stream Human Monk/12

Pendin reaches for the nearest Gnoll and grapples it...

Grapple 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (15) + 21 = 36

If the Grapple succeeds, Pendin gets to use his full round action to pin the creature if his 2nd Grapple check is successful (Greater Grapple). The Gnoll gets to make a grapple check against Pendin's CMD = 38 to break.

Grapple check to pin 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (13) + 16 = 29

female human Cleric(of Shelyn) 17/Mythic 10 hierophant

On my phone cause I'm waiting to clock in at work
She casts shield on her self
Sorry no Link do to phone

Celestial:
In the name of Shelyn, goddess of love, grant me protection with thy warding hand

I think I'll save the Enlarge Person for later.

Aelaeron chants words of arcane power and disappears from sight.

Cast Vanish

GM:
Aelaeron then uses his Shift ability (swift action) taking Luca (who is not invisible) along with him. I'm aiming for 20' behind the rear rank of gnolls. Then Luca would appear there and cast Grease on the rear rank of gnolls. Please let me know if the magic of the door prevents this, in which case, Luca will just cast Grease on the rear rank.

Is there a map up? I don't see one so I'm assuming that I'm setup for this.

Malcom lines himself up and begins to run at one of the Gnolls at the back of the line. If possible he'll attempt to Overrun 1 target and then make a Charge Attack at another behind it.

Target 1:

Overrun: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (17) + 20 = 37

If successful Malcom gets an attack of opportunity on the Overrun attempt. If he failed, he stops dead in his tracks.

Attack w/ Power Attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 18 ⇒ (3) + 18 = 21

Target 2:

Attack w/ Power Attack & Charge: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (7) + 18 = 25
Damage: 1d8 + 18 ⇒ (3) + 18 = 21

Malcom also gets a free Bullrush attempt against Target 2 using his attack bonus in place of a CMB roll.
