I am

GM Aest |

Yeah. Sorry, I should be labeling my posts by round. I hate it when my GMs don't, but it's a good idea I don't always do.

GM Aest |

Thanks. I know. I'm currently quite exhausted from visiting my grandpa in the hospital today, but I'll have a post up tomorrow I promise.

GM Aest |

If I haven't heard from Giorgio by tomorrow, I'll move the game forward. He's got a lead in his spoiler, but it's certainly not essential to making the campaign move.

GM Aest |

Hi all. My life's gotten really chaotic in the last couple of weeks, and I apologize. The situation with my grandfather is really messing me up, and it's making it hard to focus.
That being said, it's not fair to you for me to be as inconsistent as I've been. I've enjoyed GMing this game, and I'd like to stick with you guys, but if you'd rather shop for a different GM, I won't be offended at all, and I'll even open the recruitment thread myself.

Me'mori |

I, for one, appreciate the time you've put into this. If life is pulling you in other directions, I'm pretty sure we understand and would not hold it against you, especially in family situations.
If you would feel better served by closing the thread, I understand. Passing on to another GM changes the feel. I'm having fun playing, whichever way you decide.

Giorgio Karakos |

I'm in my last weeks of nursing school, soon to graduate with my Bachelor's...but these last two weeks will be hell on my schedule. I'm happy to keep going at whatever pace is comfortable for everyone involved.

Giorgio Karakos |

Is there anything else we'd like to do at the shop? We've got all the enemies subdued in one form or another, and we've searched the place top to bottom. I'm all for delivering the Field Marshal some nicely wrapped packages with our compliments and rolling merrily onwards.

Kazadarin Darlok |

Any paperwork we could locate would help, especially from Malder and his men.

GM Aest |

Well, that concludes the first mission. Also, in accordance the recommended leveling pace in the book, you've reached level two!
I'll be gone for the next four days, returning on Friday night, so why don't you take care of whatever purchases you need to make and split the loot among yourselves while I'm gone?

Giorgio Karakos |

Woohoo levels!
And stuff! We’ve got four of each of the following (sale value by each):
light crossbow w/20 bolts (18 gp ea) x4 = 72 gp
longsword (7.5 gp ea) x4 = 30 gp
chainmail (75gp ea) x4 = 300 gp
steel heavy shield (10gp ea) x4 = 10 gp
Verik’s gear:
masterwork spear (151 gp)
masterwork composite [Str +2] longbow (300gp)
masterwork chainmail (150gp)
+1 arrow x20 (400gp)
dagger (1gp)
My suggestions:
Kaz gets the MW chain mail and longbow; while the armor check penalty isn’t fun (-4) and he’ll move slower, the extra 3 points of AC are a significant defensive upgrade. Too, I think he’s the only one with both strength and competency for the bow.
Bran could grab another suit of chain mail for an extra point of armor, and a light crossbow if he thinks he needs a bit more in the way of ranged attacks.
Litsy could probably make the best use of the magic arrows for the time being.
Gio doesn’t have any significant changes or upgrades from the guards’ equipment.
Laijiri could take the MW spear as a melee weapon, but again, that’s about it for her.
Presuming everyone takes everything as suggested above, we get a total of sold items of 320 gp.

Kazadarin Darlok |

I would like the bow for sure but am leaning towards buying a breast plate for armor. Figure if I am going to take the movement and skill check penalty I should max the AC.

Giorgio Karakos |

For Kaz, there's not really any difference between MW chainmail and a regular breastplate, aside from about 10lbs of weight. A MW breastplate would have a check penalty of -3, but also costs 350gp; the chainmail has -4 check penalty, and is free.

Kazadarin Darlok |

I am good thanks.

Kazadarin Darlok |

Ok, mw chain mail it is.

Kazadarin Darlok |

Have a long bow and studded leather to throw in to the party loot.

Kazadarin Darlok |

How are we doing HP?
Edit:
Found it!
HP:Max first level, rolled or average+1 after

Giorgio Karakos |

Updated list:
light crossbow w/20 bolts (18 gp ea) x4 = 72 gp
longsword (7.5 gp ea) x4 = 30 gp
chainmail (75gp ea) x3 = 225 gp (Bran x1)
steel heavy shield (10gp ea) x4 = 10 gp
Subtotal: 337gp
Verik’s gear:
masterwork spear (151 gp)
masterwork composite [Str +2] longbow (300gp) Kaz
masterwork chainmail (150gp) Kaz
+1 arrow x20 (400gp) Litsy
dagger (???gp)
Subtotal: 151gp (plus dagger)
Party Resale
longbow (Kaz) = 37.5 gp
studded leather armor (Kaz) = 12.5gp
scale mail (Bran) = 25 gp
Subtotal: 75gp
Grand Total: 563 gp
Anyone else have anything to add, or shall we split that five ways?

Tiny Litsy |

We didn't shared the money we took at Lamm's hideout, if I remember correctly... It was 2091 gp.
So, would it make a total of 2654 gp that we have to split?

Laijiri |
If we cared about equal money. As long as everyone gets equipped, Laijiri is fine with it. One question I have is whether or not the masterwork equipment is from the Guard or not.
Level Up:
HP+: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 *Fav class +1
BAB: +1
Will: +1
Skills:
+1 Bluff
+1 K.(Local)
+1 Diplomacy
+1 Intimidate
+1 UMD
Spells gained:
0th: Daze

GM Aest |

@ Laijiri: The Guard isn't concerned about getting equipment back, so you can sell it or use it as you see fit.
@Litsy: That number seems okay. I haven't run the math perfectly, but seems like a good estimate.
@Giorgio: Who's ending up with the dagger, or are you trying to sell it?

Giorgio Karakos |

I think I'm going to have Gio save up for a set of Muleback Cords so that he doesn't collapse under the weight of heavier armor. (He's just about maxed his light carrying capacity right now.) My other option is to save up for a mithril chain shirt instead. Opinions?
Level Up:
HP: Average (5)
BAB: +1
Fort +1, Will +1
Spells: 0 = acid splash, 1 = burst bonds
Skills (6 + 3 Int +1 Favored Class): Bluff 1, Climb 1, Diplomacy 1, Heal 1, Knowledge (local 1, religion 1), Perception 1, Sense Motive 1, Spellcraft 1, Stealth 1
Abilities: Cunning Initiative, Detect Alignment, Forbidden Lore

Maybe the mithril chain would be more useful? It doesn't weigh that much, it's super protective, and Giorgio doesn't really have to carry heavy things for now...
Concerning money, when I divide 2654 by five, I obtain 530.8... So everyone would receive 53 PP and 8 SP, then?
Rogue 2:
HP: + 7 (5 Average +2 CON)
BAB: +1
Ref +1
Skills (8+ 1 (Int)+ 1 (Human) + 1 (FC) ):
Acrobatics +1
Appraise +1
Bluff +1
Diplomacy +1
Disable Device +1
Escape +1
Knowledge (dungeoneering) +1
Knowledge (local) +1
Linguistics +1 (New language: varisian)
Perception +1
Stealth +1
Rogue talent: Bleeding Attack
I've got to prepare exams this month... So my posts risk to become more hectic until July.

Giorgio Karakos |

For the cash total, are you including the 1000gp reward from Cressida, or is that getting factored in separately?
And no worries about making school come first - I graduate on Friday (super excited!) so I know how that goes.

GM Aest |

It should be noted that Orisini is specifically scripted as being an old gentlemanly character, right down to giving up his chair and kissing hands. I apologize if it's weird for whatever reason.

GM Aest |

Yeah, but Litsy's character isn't reacting well to him, and it'd be easy to view him as an old creeper instead of an old gentleman.

Tiny Litsy |

@Gm Aest: Oh no! Don't worry! Litsy just doesn't like being touched by unknown people...
I just thought that, being raised by a gang of thieves since she was little, she wasn't treated as a 'lady' (and doesn't consider herself as one), but more like 'the boss' niece', or like 'that kid who helps us out sometimes'. So, 'good manners' would make her ill at ease, because she isn't used to it at all, and doesn't understand yet that she is starting to be treated as a woman, not as a kid, or an associate.
But surely, it will evolve. She'll learn.
Besides, it's not that she doesn't like Orisini... She's just overly distrustful and defensive! (Paranoid, indeed...)
So you don't have to apologize! :)
I'm really sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable with my post... Orisini's actions aren't weird, it's just my character's reactions and way of thinking which are not normal.
Do you wish me to play her differently? I don't want to disturb anyone, nor the game...
@Me'mori: I'm glad if you find it funny ^^

GM Aest |

I don't want anyone to play their characters any way they don't want to. Just, if you have issues, let me know over here.

GM Aest |

Looking for information? If you could give me a roll and some idea of where you want to go, that'd be great.

Me'mori |

Provided there aren't any objections, Laijiri's plan is to spread some of the gold around and get some basic information about Eel's End, and Bavarsi. If she can work the conversation around to the Ambassador, then that works, but she's aware that's a tricky proposition.
That way, when the others go in, we have some idea about where we're going, rather than having to cover the entirety of Eel's End.
If it helps, she can use her Profession(Fortune Teller) to see who, if any is doing any Fortune Telling, to see if she gets any professional courtesy.
Laijiri: (All rolls augmented with gold for information)
On Bavarsi Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
On the Ambassador Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Eel's End Info Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Eel's End Info K(Local): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Litsy will always be invited along with Lajiri, and to that end, Litsy, might I get an assist on any of the rolls? :)
As always, poke me if you think I'm being too spotlight-y.

Tiny Litsy |

You're always welcome! :)
On Barvasi Diplomacy (Aid Another): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
She can try to gather informations about Eel's End too, if you'd like...
