Wow, we've been busy I see. I was just going to mention the 5-ft step thing. Also, Astor didn't get flanking with Damien as he is still carrying his crossbow at the moment. Didn't have time to switch to a melee weapon last round.

Damien's smiles slightly as he hears the others closing in around the shaman. Dropping his crossbow, he draws his dagger and moves to close with the Gnoll.

"Someone get behind him, close off his retreat. Sergeant, crossbow cocked if he makes a break for it!"

The gnoll recovered from Kevezyat's mighty slash much quicker than she had thought possible, dropping its crossbow and cutting the air with it's wicked sickle. Kevezyat felt a burning line travel up her side and then descended into darkness as her body fell to the ground.

The footmen go to work fashioning an impromptu gurney for Kevezyat out of saplings, vines and clothing.

The rest of the trip to the waystation is uneventful. Before you even arrive you encounter the Sherif and Knights riding out to see why their men have been delayed. They ride on to the site of the battle to retrieve the packs and tend to the fallen.

You and the footmen reach the gate and are allowed in to the pallisaded enclosure. The Merchants sleep, but a man in priestly robes sits outside his tent by a fire.

The sheriff gives you four of the tents that belonged to the fallen footmen. The bad weather continues and it is another miserable day on the road. The spacing of the Waystations makes them reachable nightly by horse drawn wagon caravans, riders, and trained human soldiers on foot, but with gnomes and halflings setting the pace, your party must camp before reaching refuge once again.

During the night three bloated looking leathery winged creatures with mosquito like proboscis buzz into your campsite, but they are evidently already somewhat sated with blood, as they make no effort to enter your tents.

The next day the rain finally stops, as you are crossing a brook by bridge.
