"Do you mind if we search the rooms later? It doesn't seem like they'll be anything that will be going anywhere if, there is anything at all, and my rune only last an hour so I'd rather get rid of any dangers before poking in nooks and crannies."

If nobody object I vote for taking 20 to search the entire place once we have dealt with any immediate threats. I'd rather face any baddies with a +1 to hit, though its not a big deal if anybody feel strongly :).

He turns to find Variel rummaging through his back pack "No need Variel. It seems ropes can tie themselves to rocks these days..."

Turning back to Tella "I don't mean to be personal Tella, but just how heavy are you? Will Brenna need to work herself into a rage to pull you up?"

"Pish, Torag's tender topiary, I'm a dwarf in stone armour of course I'm heavy I'll not take offence at sense. I might be able to make it on my own if I can use a wall to brace myself... Tella replies, examining the climb. "Should probably leave this though..."

Unstrapping her backpacks large bottom section she removes a hundred pound anvil.

With a knotted rope and a wall its DC 0, and Tella can make it taking 10, but the module might have other modifiers. You can lift, but not over you head, twice your max load so Brenna could probably haul Tella up alone, but hopefully others would help.

I'm not surprised personally, Dwarves aren't as effect by armor and weight. They're built sturdier, than either of us. Garidan comments waiting to follow along.

A Dwarfs speed is never modified by armor or encumbrance, thanks to slow and steady, and the penalties for armor and load do not stack you use the worst which is armor. She doesn't really need to put it down, it just makes her lighter if she is getting assistance. Plus I think its funny, and a farrier's anvil at 50lbs just wouldn't be up to her quality standards :)

At Brenna's strength, she can climb up the rope on her own with a take 10. Hauling Tella up... Brenna can lift off the ground 600 lbs. and stagger around. I dunno if you know your full weight Tella, but it shouldn't be a problem, and if it is, Brenna can rage for a round and raise her heavy load to 520 lbs which allows her to haul up 1040 lbs.

While the rest discuss, Brenna grabs hold of the rope and quickly hauls herself up to the second floor and then takes a quick look around.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Assuming nothing wrong jumps out, Brenna turns back to look down, "Cmon everyone, we don't want to be exploring this place after dark."

Unslinging her shield Tella attempts the rope, carefully making use of the wall and clearly not enthused with the process, "Torag's teeth, I'm a Dwarf not a blasted wind chandelier, not meant to be dangling from a thrice cursed rope!"

She is taking 10 for a 6, which should be sufficient without the wall with a knotted rope, though of course it could easily be harder than standard.

Current Map

You climb up to the second floor from the outside and end up in the crumbling remains of a room that now serves as an open landing for doors in the northwest and southwest walls. There is nothing else of interest in this broken room.

OOC:
The tower stands 80 feet tall and its exterior walls are amazingly smooth. They are considered superior masonry walls, requiring a DC 25 Climb check to ascend. Climbing the ragged remains of the east wing’s walls only requires a DC 15 Climb check, although characters cannot reach the tower’s fifth floor by this method. Apologies, I should've posted this earlier.

Giving a short chuckle, she looks around for a moment and not finding anything interesting, she shrugs her head towards the southwest door, "One's as good as another, might as well start here eh?"

That door seems as good as any other to me Brenna," Tella says shakily, still looking rather ruffled after having to be dragged up by the others. After reslinging her shield she moves over and after a careful listen, if she hears nothing of concern, she opens the door.

Variel finds nothing suspisius at the southwest door. It opens up into an octagonal room that is covered in a fine layer of dust. It’s clearly been abandoned for a long time.

Moving cautiously forward into the dusty room Tella makes for the adjacent door, listens for a moment, making room for anyone else who wishes to, and then opens the door - assuming nobody hears anything of note.

Variel scans the room and seeing the layers of dust figures nothing of note is stored here. He move over to the door to check it also. Looking over for any sense of perhaps being trapped. Before cautiously putting an ear to the door.

"You know where you are with an anvil... You just hit hot metal until its proper shape. But why would a High Priest and a Showgirl even be in a bar together, even if he were in a bar he wouldn't have taken his staff... And he can't be an high Priest of Torag because then he'd have a hammer, or Cayden Cailean because his followers have, um, tankards and rapiers," Tella complains, with the air of someone probing at a sore tooth.

Ah good playing in another game with two, female, followers of Calistria, who are great fun, and was worried they might have rubbed off a little too much :)

Never really knew my mom either, didn't know my dad for that matter. For what it's worth, apologies for asking, i know it's hard to loose someone. I lost someone important to me recently myself, i used poison on some bullies, the knight commander was the leads father, he sent me and my mentor on a mission that got her killed i left after that....um how's the trap coming Variel? He looks downward awkwardly explaining what happened, trying to sympathize.

Current Map

After Variel disabled the trap, Tella opens the door onto a room that was the Armory. Racks for weapons line the walls of this chamber; above the racks hang various shields, pieces of armor, weapons, and standards on display. Most of the racks are empty, but a few weapons remain in place. A horrible stench fills the room as well, akin to the smell of rotten eggs mixed with the reek of an open sewer.
Two humanoid's with a scaly hide that is dull gray occupy this room. Their frame resembles that of a cave lizard, with a long tail and crests on its head and back.

Stench-Fort save --DC 13::
(Ex) A creature with the stench special ability secretes an oily chemical that nearly every other creature finds offensive.
If you don't make it, you'll be sickened for 5 rounds.

Current Map

Brenna attacks with relish and splits the poor troglodyte in half. Variel tries to attack, but the stench over comes him. the troglodyte actually goes to catch the vial that Dresden throws at him. It explodes on contact and fire erupts on the troglodyte. Garidan rushes over to attack before the fire dissipates and ends up killing the trog.

Two doors remain in this room, one to the northeast and one directly east.
