Shuts off his external speaker, and makes a call via his radio...

"Aananda Sunwake, this is Ghalen Kiln. I'm sure you're busy, so I'll make this short. Do any of the other staff members or students monitor or have radios? I'd like to speak to Sorchan or Fieri Del Sol, or possibly Headmaster Ryo. We've encountered something...odd."

Aananda was almost to her lab when the call came through. "Uh, just a sec," she said as she walked. "Sorchan and Pyra are off-site today, dealing with the firebird evacuation. Fieri is...uh, she just left from the teleportation room. Not sure what her itinerary is or when she'll be back. I can leave a message to have her contact me as soon as she gets back. I can patch you through to Ryo in the meantime if that will help."

"Oh, wait, let me see if Fieri took her comm with her. Hold on."

Midori waves goodbye to Kitty-senpai and Michael-senpai, and then guides her parents towards Ephebe's office, and knocks firmly, her family standing behind her in a flanking way.

Any who want to (and if their characters would feel it appropriate, probably Ryuzo at least) can tag along of course.

"Come in," she called out.

"Perhaps I shall need to read these com-ick books you mention. I did not have much interest in reading before, but now, I'm practically lured to it for various reasons."

Anahita shrugs and asks, "You aren't hungry, are you? I could fetch some food if desired. There is much out here in the forest to eat, or water if you wish."

As to the 'fun' comment and it explaining a lot, Anahita remains quiet. She'd heard that, but, didn't quite react in any manner. Rather stoic right now and focused on making sure Jaiye was well.

"I'd be happy to help you find some comics that catch your interest...I love introducing others to my hobby," she said with a slight smile.

She shrugged. "I was hungry, but not really now. Not like it would be the first time in my life I missed a meal. But thanks."

"Ummm.....I was rude before wasn't I? I mean just now...obviously I was rude before...but we already talked about that. I wasn't making a dig or anything. You just seem really naive about a lot of stuff. Play is an important part of learning. If you weren't having fun, well, that explains why you seemed like you didn't understand stuff." She sighed. "Bad habit I need to break, thinking about what I said a few minutes after I said it instead of before I say it."

The priests split into groups. Some of them went after Ignace who ran as far towards the other side of the room as she could before they caught her. She screamed and the fire around her increased. The flames didn't seem to bother the priests in the slightest, although they did seem to be having trouble keeping a hold on the wildly flailing girl.

The other priests moved to keep Grim and his shadow beasts busy while Ignace was restrained.

"Put down your weapon, young man. We already have the girl in custody and there's no way you can fight your way out of here. In point of fact, I am not yet sure how you found your way in here," the head priest said severely, scowling at Grim.

He chuckled as he pulled his hand back. "The end result maybe be an organization but it is a little soon to start planning it out. I still need to find an apprentice before I ever start planning anything bigger." He reaches up to the quill always tucked in his ear. Returning his hand in front of himself with the quill ready to be used.

He looks over the quill. "I know many people who would wish to have had you around. When I traveled with them. I do not believe I have written a thing while in your company. While previously long would be hard pressed to find a time I wasn't writing." He acts slightly bewildered about the observation.

"Well, it's good to observe and record, but it's also good to experience things for yourself. Ideally there would be some balance between the two. It sounds to me like your balance has been a bit skewed towards the observing in the past and you're long overdue to spend some time experiencing things for yourself," she said with an impish grin.

"And you still haven't answered my question about what you're looking for in an apprentice."

The door to a student lounge stands open and inside Ginni can be seen crying, her guitar case leaning against her chair forgotten.

just to be clear the "shadow beasts" was just because I like describing dramaitically, they are shadows, incorporeal, strength drain, undead, that kind of stuff grim glares at him "no! He's the freaking avatar, I was born of the living embodiment of death itself! just as an FYI as far as I know grim is unlikely to know about Death and the other patrons, so I'm running with the assumption he doesn't, but that grim sr might, so his dad is the closest he knows to what he claims, and Ignance over there, lets go with political connections simple yet true enough, you harm one hair on her head and there will be hell to pay, trust me I know a fair bit about that," his human face slowly shifts turning somewhat beastial before melting away during his bostes, his class lengthen as does his tail as wings come out of his back, his one eye glowing fiercely "now I'm going to give you the count of 5 to let her go or my pets and I are going to have to hurt you, 1..2...4..."

His name is Pyry, if that helps. We assumed he had been abjured, but he says he was not, and will not give us his family name."

igni walks round the school, only to see giuni crying. He looks around, then asks

Ryuzo opens the door and goes in first, holding the door open for the rest of them. He shoots Ephebe a subtle 'here we go' look.

The chamber you guys are in is huge. Ignace is at the far corner of the chamber, about 80 ft away from you...which is good since her fire is currently at 20d6/rd damage for a 25ft radius from her and 10d6/rd radius between 25 and 50 ft from her. She is being restrained by a pair of the black cloaked priests. Lang is right behind you and you are between the head priest and his followers and Lang. They just came in at the door which is almost to the far corner away from where Ignace is being held prisoner. So yes, you can hit the priests with a cone without coming anywhere near Ignace.

I'm sorry to interrupt, but we have a situation that your help is needed with...a group out on a field trip in a frozen area has found a young firebird who seems to have some sort of ability to use cold like normal firebirds use fire. They're trying to find out who he is."

"Not a problem, Mom...I'm actually tracking down abjured firebirds right now. Trying to tell them about what's happening with the sun and give them a chance to hopefully reunite with their families...but I don't have the colder route. Ardiente took those ones. So I can't really help...you should ask Grandma. She helped us sort through all of these last night. If anyone can place who this kid is, it's her."

Dave seems mildly troubled by tybalt's statement "that's certianly a possibility, espically if you levitate, though it doesn't help if they are smarter then they look, and attack us from below, waiting for us to get into position"

The sound seems to impact all of the priests equally, but the head priest and half of the priests attempting to corrall Grim are shaken. The two holding Ignace were well away from the spell effect.

In spite of that, they all seem to have little trouble avoiding the attacks of the shadows.

They're spreading rumors saying that I'm using mind control magic, that the only reason my friends like me is that I'm controlling them, that I've somehow found a way to hide it from the wards and Miss Jones, and that my boyfriend is in on it. It's particularly vicious since there's no way for me to prove that I didn't do it. I thought things would be different here, but it's just like everywhere else...except now they're using me to hurt the people I care about too," she said, grabbing a tissue to blow her nose.
