The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

The void's DC would be ubsurdly high, even for here.

Time charecter's might know about it, but the knowledge would be so rare otherwise...

Yeah-

Like i said, time charecters might know about it. Mel's a time chsrecter, and brilliant.

Forgot to ask, how well versed are you at knowledge (the planes)

It's pretty obscure info but I don't have a specific DC,

I am extremely well versed. It's my favorite aspect of games usually, thanks for asking. :)

not that, it's more about his backstory

@damani: should have been clearer, I was asking more if the reapling had a high degree of skill in that regard

Reapling (scout form) rogue, black blooded oracle, gestalt lvl 16

She knows some, including some rare bits, but not much. She was one of Sorenson's (a wizard become god) students/servents, and Sorenson had a library with all kinds of planer info, but the time for studies was limited. Sorenson had been to many places though.

Figment Narrator 20

Huh, there actually is a DC for this,
Can you make at or above a DC 30 or so?

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Really? Because 30 seems like everyone here would know it.

I had intended it to be a really obscure place that only a few people knew about.

I mean, this is a collaborative thing.

If people want it to be common knowledge, I guess that's fine.

I can just say that isn't what I inteneded, but it it makes for a better story, why not do it that way- what I made isn't set in stone.

Female [Classified] Bard 16 / [classified] 16

in a normal game DC 30 is high, but in this game I would say DC 45 or 50 maybe even a DC 60 for this.

Reapling (scout form) rogue, black blooded oracle, gestalt lvl 16

Uh, quite possibly, though I don't have any skills at +20 or more, so if you take their advice and raise the DC, I very likely wouldn't know about it.

K Planes: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23

[dice=K Planes]d20+15

To be fair, I made the place.

My intent would be for it to be rare knowledge, but maybe a few charecter's huge bounuses have made it so I'm more skeptical then I should be.

Maybe have basic konowladge set around 30, and more advanced stuff higher up.

again no not that

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

.... Ooooh.
That's what you're talking about...

Either way, I guess the DC of the void is smething we should cover, even if it wasn't so what he was talking about.

you guess that the sigil that started glowing green when he got angry is probably importantish

It didn't go away when he calmed down, but the glow has dimmed significantly

maybe a DC 45 or do grants really basic stuff like

DC ~45:
hey, they exist, they come about when paradoxes happen, they have their own plane of not quite existance

Reapling (scout form) rogue, black blooded oracle, gestalt lvl 16

Yep, I know nothing.

Interesting concept btw, I (the player) look forward to learning more.

If you have a broken arm, or broken ribs irl you generally can't lift as much eg: str damage, a broken leg would slow you down even when it's in a cast, imposing in game terms the staggered condition,
As for the Heal spell not being sufficient...

spell description wrote:

Heal enables you to channel positive energy into a creature to wipe away injury and afflictions. It immediately ends any and all of the following adverse conditions affecting the target: ability damage, blinded, confused, dazed, dazzled, deafened, diseased, exhausted, fatigued, feebleminded, insanity, nauseated, poisoned, sickened, and stunned. It also cures 10 hit points of damage per level of the caster, to a maximum of 150 points at 15th level.

This might have been easily resolved if you had added some indicator of a status effect on your person, remember we're limited by what we perceive, mind reading doesn't work on the forums, typically.

For example:

If you make a Heal DC20 check, you'll realize that my character is suffering form -STR in the form of a broken wing. A simple cure spell won't resolve this.

Food for thought.

Figment Narrator 20

I did... Last post...
I even said that last bit in character multiple times
He's exausted, and has str damage as well a massive penalty to fly until it gets healed

Welp, speaking solely for myself-- I didn't notice any of those.

*shrug* Moot point. It's in the past now.

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

Hey guys. I'm back. Please tell me that you didn't burn down the thread while I was gone. ;)

I am trying to catch up, but my modem died this weekend and was only replaced this afternoon so I'm a fair bit behind. Especially since I hadn't had a chance to catch up after my husband's surgery. He's fine now. Back to work and everything. But he definitely kept me hopping for the few days afterwards. It was the worst when he was taking the Norco they prescribed for pain....it didn't do much for pain, but it convinced him that pain didn't matter...he had to be watched closely to make sure he didn't damage himself trying to do stuff he wasn't ready for yet.

Anyhow, I'm glad to have Internet back and will hopefully be back up to speed on the game soon.

Reapling (scout form) rogue, black blooded oracle, gestalt lvl 16

I missed the extra stuff that Heal can do, of course 3.5 was the last time I really looked at it, all I remembered was that it healed lots of HP instead of just rolling Xd8+cl.

Well, I never considered dnd/pf to be very good or clear on dealing with, or even inflicting, major injuries such as broken bones, and the over abstracted nature of HP and Cure spells doesn't help. Regardless, the initial test was to see what kind of energy he had, and the response to it would be the same. I do have restoration and heal if needed, but it hasn't changed her priorities any at the moment.

I'll need to check whether restoration uses positive energy, but I'm pretty sure heal is positive energy, though I'll check anyway.

Won't matter till later though.

Sorry guys, I've been really really busy with graduation stuff and the beginning of work season at the beach. We have /never/ been this busy this early in the year at work, but I've banked a couple hundred in three days of work, which is very nice before memorial day.

Trying to get posts now. Please be patient with me for the next couple days as I wrap up my packed week of graduation. After that I promise I'm all yours forever. ;)

Ice we can assume at this point Gavott would've worked out like an arrow formation or something for up or down.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

The comment was mostly in jest.

Gavott would just say her answer.

She doesn't even really expect you to comment on that at all, and moreso, just finds it midly funny that you asked her to use thumbs.

She also gave her answer verbally either way, if you missed the edit.

The thumbs thing is a thing we do in band to show approval or dossaproval of a song or idea without speaking, as, in a classroom setting, everyone giving a verbal answer doesn't work out. However, in pbp we can't exactly talk over each other, so the problem it solves isn't as apparent. The goal is mostly to avoid speech and reach a conclusion of vote rather quickly.

Ah.

Well, gavott would miss that, anyway.
She prefers to make her opinions as clear as possible, and is likely to explain them nonetheless.

Also, it's somewhat less of a problem in such a small group.

Is Kuros the biggest city on Agartha or at least this general geological area?

If it's not, what's bigger and if it is, what's the next biggest??

It has about a 50% chance of turning you into a freaky monster, and about a 45% chance of simply killing you, but at least no one would be able to get inside your head!

Tybs could help with Kitty's problem if she can find someone to copy the brain thing...

Could maybe craft something too given a bit of time.

Also, Lyn, in case you need a reminder, the Stat block was in your que to send before you got busy. :)

No, Kuros isn't even close. It's a boom town. It was just a village last year.

Mentor is probably the biggest city in the general area.

Otherwise it depends on what direction you go. Nishioki is certainly in the running for biggest city, but there are others.

Thinking about the Sapphire Planet led me to doing research. Research led me to some interesting discoveries, which lead to ideas which lead to a character concept.

Further research reminded me of the perfect way to get the Concept into Reality.

I feel ingenious and evil all at the same time and its so awesome!
