Judging from icehawk's statements you failed
If you want to do what you are doing, say something like "another of him did such and such" or "another individual looking shockingly like him does bla"
Instead of "the other him does a thing"
Because using "The" as a definite article, strongly that it was introduced before and refers to something specific

Hey, Dami, for the sake of not tangling the ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff, can we just assume that extensive physicals and disease checks catch us up to now?
It was established that the portal is routed to an infirmary isolab for this purpose.

And that's why you're doing it well. You're not using it to steal the spotlight from people who currently have it.
As for making people angry...
That tends to be part of being important.
People get angry with Important things easy, because they expect them to act he way they think is right.

It's not my fault students wreck it. I mean, come on, acid explosions?
And you all know the school fights back occasionally. Like in the SIM rooms during games. Or when motorcycle riding goblins hurt its poor, innocent doors. :(
That was NOT my fault, somebody switched my brake and turbo lines, ergo not my fault.

I've no idea what you're talking of, sorry.
I knew the portal opened to some ISO-lab, because I vaguely recall that was intended, or what not. Upon arriving, though, you all are in normal time, not some alternate dimension oddness.
No desire to stop folks from running off to RP with others upon return, if that helps.

I realize this idea might be shot down, but might as well take the risk, on the off chance its not:
I kinda wanna make an Uncanny X-Force style team that either Ryo, another High Seer, or one of the older teachers have sanctioned to go out and handle problems that arise on Agartha and eventually into space.

Cult busting? Like for reals? I'm morally bankrupt!
| Monkeygod |
Umm...Jiminy already has that going, kinda.
His mech pilots, I'm guessing? Good(ish) guys, who jump into big badass suits to help save the day, even if its just clean up duty.
The Uncanny X-Force was a team of the baddest of the bad heroes, many of whom have had stints as villains, whose first mission was to assassinate Apocalypse, reborn in the body of a child.
Not really seeing Mithros and Jeran(especially after Team Hotguys mission) murdering any children....

Let's see, murdering a child as a "greater good" type act
Arthur: would not do it, but would feel almost guilty for not being able to l
Chao: would claim he could, but if it ever came down to it, he would likely be unable
Dave: would do it, but guilt would keep him up for a while afterwords
Grim: yes if the kid could fight back, if not no.
Lucas: not sure, it would depend on the situation, if he did do it, later times would be significantly easier, if he couldn't, later times would be nearly impossible
As is, he would be mostly fine with ordering the child's death in the name of the greater good,

Jacob: If even asked the question, he would throw up for about ten minutes and then have the chills for the next twenty-four hours. Yes, he's that nervous.
Djalos: He would do it. Unquestionably. As a matter of fact, he would think of the most efficient means to do it and calculate how well he did on the mission as a whole.

I had had a school club proposed that would be a way of organizing the various quest type things. Basically an X-men style group heading out to tackle the problems that either pop up around the area or requests for help to Avalon on the grounds that if a problem is big enough, you have to ask the monsters for help. (Most of the planet views Avalon as a convenient way of corraling the monsters away from everyone else. Just because you call them students doesn't make them normal.) I forget who was supposed to be taking point on that one. I know I approved it, but then it sorta slipped away from my attention.
Jiminy's group will be expanding soon as he recruits more pilots and support staff, but they're more intended to be a Planetary Defence team. They do some occasional day saving on Agartha as well, but mostly they are focused on threats that come from space. So there may be some overlap between the groups, but they have different missions.
And you're right re:Jeran and killing children: Hell to the no! His big backstory trauma as revealed during the last book retrieving mission centers on not being able to save his little brother from being murdered by his uncle. Definitely counter to his morality.
As far as an Uncanny X-force style team, *shrug* if it develops out of the club then fine. There are certainly a number of semi-reformed (kinda, mostly, at least they can put on a good show in public) bad guys among the students and staff. (Miss Jones, Ephebe, Nala, Jaiye....and those are just my characters, there are plenty more played by others). But I wouldn't set out to build such a team deliberately.
