I didn't want to get to involved here but I do work for a power generation facility (nuclear powere in fact) and I can say pretty sure that modern electric generators do work off of magnetics its pretty key to thier ability to make electricity.
our generators are even effected by the EMP that hit the earth during solar flares.
Thanks. That helps. I didn't think I was wrong about that, but I don't know generators that well. :)

My two cents:
As an electrical engineer working in a field with a very agressive EMI environment, I have personal experience with an EM event frying even an incandescent lightbulb by the very high frequency/voltage surge that is induced in its circuit. We have fried out every piece of electrical equipment in the building at one point or another when the accelerator arcs down. So yeah, Lyn, you are pretty spot on.

That's comics. Real emp is along the lines of what we use for MRI machines. And they certainly don't kill people.
;)
Damiani
Um, not sure if they are exactly the same, but when Magneto first manifested his power in the comics, in an attempt to save his infant daughter's life, he unleashed a mile wide EMP.
It killed anything with a nervous system, including tiny, microscopic insects.
This is part of why I suggested people with nervous systems would 'feel' the wave, but not see it...
But, it's not a death triggering event, my EMP in Gameplay.

Well at least I might have the front door open now? :)
Still not sure what the break DC would be so I'll leave that to Fireclaw or Lyn, to decide if I got the door open. Though I can only get a few more bonuses on my strength check.
edit: Woot! Gotta love thoses waves. :p

I just had a funny thought about everyone one in the sim rooms teleporting just before Dom gets there.

Was wolverine any good? I heard it sucked. . . .
I liked the one NightCrawler was in. Tybs is very loosely based on him. Fighting style mostly. By that I mean blinking around and not really fighting.
How fast would I be moving at terminal velocity? I weigh about 100 lb.
Tybalt Baneko
Trying to fall as fast as possible. Streamlined to about 1-1&1/2 feet facing downward. Itty bitty kitty skydiving committee.

I thought it was ok but then again I do like Japanese girls in short dresses that kick ass and have a cool sword
Sara and Bee
Sara and Cariban and Midori and Sun and Dara and Chara are in the aforementioned bubble as well.
-------
I'm just going to say Bee left in the Culture Mass Exodus. Easier that way and I won't keep forgetting him. Never really did know what to do with it. . . .

didn't he make honey?

No. Just cake. :P
Sara is talking to a bird about finding another big and fast enough to get Lang. Just so ya know I didn't forget. Lots of stuff happened at once. Thankfully, band camp is over now. :)

Icehawk, you don't need to get all down on yourself. Really. It was just a chain reaction with players making assumptions without waiting for confirmation. It happens now and again, especially when there's a lot of action going on. Honestly I should have just called halt to the whole thing first instead of trying to respond, but I was a bit distracted and didn't realize until I started going back over posts that I wasn't the only player in that that didn't consent to the starting action.
More generally, for everyone, remember, you only control your characters. If an action depends on another PC's action wait for them to take it.

Terminal velocity has nothing to do with weight and everything to do with wind resistance. Terminal velocity for a human sized object falling to earth in the "free-fall" position (i.e. arms and legs kind of out like a skydiver) is about 120mph. If you tuck in your arms and legs you can reach around 200mph. If you go nose down, well, current skydiving top speed is over 800mph.
:)

Also, lyn, this isn't new.
I have problems-
I often feel guilty about situations that might have been the wrong thing to do, but weren't, and continue feeing guilty about a hypothetical situation for almost a week.
So, I'm sorry for being a pessimist. I should be better tomorrow morning.

lol I figured it would happen any how. Eventually he'll catch up or get somewhere he's needed. ;)

Okay, icehawk. Honestly, we all goofed on this one. So don't feel like you are solely responsible.
Anyhow, if Sara and Midori and Sun go with the teleport then Dara and Chara will too. Dara won't unless Midori does because he feels safer around her and Chara would go if Sun and Sara did. So I'm waiting on those players before I make any further assumptions. Cause sometimes the GM goofs too. :)

Thanks, Carl, I appreciate it. And don't worry about it. It was a group goof. They happen sometimes. It's rare that I go with a ret-con, but since we had the chance before it was too late for edits it just made more sense this time.

OH noes! There goes my reality.
;)

Amen to that.
Honestly, i run a group, and the players often are correcting me so often... Sheesh.(If they didn't though, we'd be running around throwing hammers at people and sunning them, then delivering coup de gras.)
And then there are those days where something that was intended to be hard turns out to be a total joke...
DM'in is hard, and the only reason I'm a dm was no-one else was willing to do it.
Honestly, they always seem to expect too much, and when i dissapoint em wiht a. Less impressive session, i feel like crap. Half of my stuff is made up on the spot, because honestly, i lost enjoyment of it a few months ago because of two players that i can't kick out, (complicated.) they often seem impressed at my improv, but it's never good enough... I don't see why they like it. This last session, i blatantly ran out of ideas, and the session was largely playing SSBB whil i tried to come up with an idea.

Not a problem, I goofed not waitng, just getting into the whole thing to much hehe really is cool play
Damiani
My biggest suggestion is -- try to not assume as much, or 'hyper speed/teleport'.
Try to imagine everything you're doing, is timed (in turns/actions) ... and slow down a wee bit, consider the other players involved, etc.
There are many people tango-ing with yah. If you chill a bit, include them, life is good.
Cheers.

Hmm where shall Ori and Salis turn up. We haven't heard from them in a while.
Oh there they are in the closet. :p
Any ideas Lyn?
