Here is Vai's simulacrum talking to Michael and Kitty about the new sky.

The fort save for electric battery points.
What level affect was the shock shield thing?

Gtg back in band practice.
Come watch me on the red bank football field 6:45.

140ft line, but it was aimed pretty much squarely at Yrrin. It most likely didn't hit anyone else.
Lyn: Vai was recaptured the night the wards changed. I remember quite Vividly.
That was what I was going to ask about. Ephebe's first kidnapping was September 2011.
The planet-flippy thing happened Jan 24, 2012.Fake-Vai betraying Ephebe which led to her second kidnapping happened on Feb 7, 2012.
What I couldn't find was when real Vai and Aegythrax disguised as Vai switched places. I had thought it was pre new-wards, but it's right on the line between the two.

Well, Vai helped Ryleh keep the metaconcert stable-ish, when they were fighting Taron. It had to be after the new wards. During Vai's sleep that night.
If it's too much hassle, bad-Vai could've went elsewhere on Agartha.

Yay, finally found it. Was never explicitly stated, but the post in question where Vai has a sudden personality transplant is from Feb 7, 2012. So yes, it is after the new wards. Next morning after in-game time I believe.
So now, next question....did Aegythrax himself ever go to Agartha or did he just send a simulacrum? If it was just a simulacrum, the new wards were never fully tested. And it's still possible that trying to tell others in the Empire about the whole thing would erase the memories from his mind. Chan wouldn't want to mess with that. He didn't want unexpected visitors either. Hell, he might have added to that feature.
Also, well....which time did Chan kill Ephebe in that timeline? Second kidnapping? If it was first kidnapping then the new wards never happened in her timeline. Taron's plan was to dependant on things that would have fallen apart.
Overall, while it's possible for evil-Vai to come and go it's also still plausible that trying to pass on info about Agartha and its inhabitants will get said info wiped from her mind. So she has to find another way. If new wards existed in her timeline she would know that and would likely have contingencies in place to get around them somehow. But it might take a lot of scheming and plotting to make it work.

It's not too much hassle. It's more that I'm trying to keep a lot of stuff straight to make sure we don't contradict ourselves. It's more trying to pin down what would or would not be in effect. It's possible that wards do work and that Vai would know about it. It's possible that wards work and Vai wouldn't know about it. Or maybe she found out about the properties of the new wards when she destroyed the Avalon in her timeline and made contingency plans accordingly.

Weren't the wards kind of in a state of flux after the flip, and had to be strengthened later?
No, everyone thought the wards were gone. We all found out later that they had been re-strengthened and transformed along with the changes to the planet.

The new wards existed in that timeline: I have the whole alternate timeline planned in my mind. Vai should know all the intricacies of these wards.
Ephebe was killed the second kidnappings.

Okay. Then Vai would not teleport off world without some major contingencies in place to deal with the wards. Which she might have somehow.....this could be bad.....

Alright, sending you a PM Lyn: we should stick with the original posts. I've got ideas.
Yrrin Lightbringer
Hey Yrrin, were those pair of d20s your saving throws? If so, why no mod? Pally's don't get much to Ref normally, but Divine Grace should offeset that, unless you traded that out
Well I was thinking I could only save on a 20 but with hope's bonuses I got both
I have like a +16

Argh.
Sorry for the delay - we lost our A/C system - for the second time since we moved in on Saturday.
I can't wait to hear the property's excuse for not checking something as important as that in an apartment in Georgia in summer before your tenants move in. And (of course) I just dropped off a rent check before I found this out.

I'll try to get a post up for Fei real quick, then I have to go 'talk' to more stupid people...
GM Fireclaw
Yes. Nothing has changed.
In fact, the PCs don't even know where bad-Vai went really. Could be anywhere!
lynora
[Sigh]
So neither Vai nor Fei lost their memories when they 'blipped' off-world to the lab (because neither of them bore any ill intent to Agartha). That has not changed, correct?
Correct. The memory wipe only happens if someone intends harm to Agartha or attempts to give information about Agartha to its enemies for any reason. So someone being interrogated would honestly not know anything so the information can't be given under coercion either.

I believe we can unpause the scene now, yes Lyn?

It only works of computers and things that run on magnetic memory...
But... Generators don't work that way either...
Unless the generator automatically turns off the instant a computer does, witch would require intentional stupidity on the account of the creator!Maybe I'm wrong, but i don't see how we're getting out of this.
I'm out, until i feel relaxed enough to come back.

[facepalm]
Look if you want to get worked up about this I can't stop you. But you are making a lot of assumptions here that just aren't correct. This isn't a fossil-fuel generator. And the controls are down. Just run with it.

Good fiction makes you care about characters...and then screws them over again and again in all the worst possible ways before they manage to climb out of the mess and succeed against the odds. An RPG is basically shared fiction. You're in the uncomfortable part of the story. Hang in there.

I didn't want to get to involved here but I do work for a power generation facility (nuclear powere in fact) and I can say pretty sure that modern electric generators do work off of magnetics its pretty key to thier ability to make electricity.
our generators are even effected by the EMP that hit the earth during solar flares.
