The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

Aargh, now I can't get the image of a bunch of little blue lightning elementals dancing and cheerfully singing out of my head. I need brain b leach. :P

Hmmm...Khoda really could use a diversion right now...

Female Half-elf Gestalt Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple9 // Rogue (Swashbuckler)8/Duelist7

Can you cast a verbal-only spell while being grappled without a concentration check? otherwise, there's not much Vai is gonna be able to do.

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

Missed it by one!!

Male I am a meat Popsicle

you can cast non-somatic-component spells while grappled, but you hvae to make a concentration check. i am unsure of the DC, so you might want to look that up.

The DC is the opponent's CMD, that's why Vai is hosed.

Male Drow (noble) 14 Ranger

Well, when we can all port at will, grappling shouldnt be more than a 1 round concern...

Male I am a meat Popsicle

Which one of you is the one who lives in Milwaukee? I have totally forgotten, and I feel lazy right now and do not want to sift though my old posts.

Is the champion port a spell-like? Cause of so, it requires the same concentration as normal casting.

Either way, posting combat from my phone sucks and my comp isn't setup yet. Vai is panicking instead of thinking and is struggling in vain to free herself. Skip me for this round.

Well, I don't know if I'm the only one, but I live in Milwaukee.

The champion port is a supernatural ability. Hence how Nala keeps popping up in wherever she happens to think about since she hasn't got the hang of it yet. You just have to visualize where you want to be...so it's totally natural that someone who is panicking would have trouble with that part.

Do you have any interest in playing shadowrun? someone i know is putting a campaign together. this question stands for anyone who is in milwaukee, or close enough to it that they would want to travel for a shadowrun game.

Yeah! I'd love to! I've heard tons of good things about it but never got a chance to play it. How many people are you looking for? I know two other folks -- both experienced Shadowrun players -- who might be interested.

ETA: Feel free to PM me any details.

Male I am a meat Popsicle

let me put the question to him, because i know he has at least one more

Coolness. Regardless, I'm still psyched about it. Been wanting to try Shadowrun for a while now.

Male I am a meat Popsicle

goodness .. what is Jiminy, a Time Lord?

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

He bends reality. This particular reality bending exercise will not do good things to him, but he figured it was time to go all out.

Male More Human than Human Rogue 10 / Fighter 6 / Shadowdancer 10 / Void Incarnate 4

That was the absolute perfect time for Keme to land a Crit.

Sweetness!

Actually, this is something I've been meaning to say for a while.

"No, Ryo, that's not right. I saw it in James's dreams before. I tried to explain, but it sounds too crazy. See, reality is layered, and in one reality you fell out of the tree and in another close layer you didn't. You can never effect the timeline you come from, only parallel ones. The trick is steering things to the one you want. Also, we have to defeat the time demon in all of them or she just comes back over and over. But how do you defeat someone throughout an infinity of possible realities? I haven't figured it out yet and neither has Ephebe. Who is still sleeping by the way. I guess she's not really a morning person."

Now, that's way back from the original Agartha game, but with the more recent explanations of timelines, it appear that Jiminy is messing with time when ever he warps reality, because each timeline is actually a separate timeline.

Triplets. Similarities. You dealing with it yet? ;)

The only downside is that there'll be no living with him after this on account of his ego getting even bigger. ^.^

I wondered when you'd figure out how James was messing with reality. Yes, he pulls things from other timelines into his own. It's always worked like that. :)

It was rather see-through once I re-read the old thread. We are a well-connected little bundle of dragons, aren't we?

Probably true, since there is nobody with Fei who would brag about what he is doing right now....assuming that he succeeds, of course. ;P

Pretty sure "vitrea" isn't really a word but just go with me on this one. :-p

Shadow Lodge

Pretty gross stuff, that exploding eye. Great mental image though.

Warforged Engineer Alchemist 16/Armiger 16 Champion of Creation

It is a word. It's a kind of snail.

Male I am a meat Popsicle

lucky for nas .. phaeze can fix that eye. and she is also healing 25 per round 'cause she is close to him.

Warforged Engineer Alchemist 16/Armiger 16 Champion of Creation

Did he become a Vitalist or something?

"Jim" Rivets wrote:

Really? LOL! I meant it as in "vitreous humor", of course. Terrible usage on my part, I know, but it sounded cool.

"Jim" Rivets wrote:

Yes. He is a Vitalist, with a few tweaks. The why is the interesting part. But the collective is why he is in the lab and healing the whole group that is on the Plane of Storms.

Male I am a meat Popsicle

I will be gone for a few hours playing archery. Here are Phaezeriel's planned actions:

Assume that Phaeze will continue to use healing and restorative abilities as necessary. In this situation he can achieve some truly amazing amount of healing per round; he can hit 930 hp per round with very little effort. He has the power Psionic Revivify, so Ryleh can bring people back from the dead with no permanent negative consequence, or he can if their body is brought to him in short order.

Once the away team returns he will move to Nasima and restore her eye.

See you all again soon.

P.S. I am loving this arc. A Lot. Well done!

Shadow Lodge

The arc is definitely a good one. But will it be finished when Khoda is gone? I suspect Nasima's father will be disappointed at the very least.

Also, based on when certain events take place in-game, I have an idea for another free-form game. It will be of significantly lower power-level though, but still centered around kids learning to control their abilities. I don't want to spoil any more than that.

The whole co-DM we've got going on here will be used in my free-form too, since it's just so much more fun for everybody!

Too bad I have no idea when I will actually be able to start/participate in said game. Darn you RL, always getting in the way!

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

Sorry for my lack of posting this weekend. My digestive system has decided that it hates me. And apparently decided to punish me for doing stupid things like eating by making me spend the weekend in the bathroom. Fun times. Feeling a little depressed about missing out on the beautiful weather outside.

Anyways, catching up now.

DB3, I am intrigued by your idea and look forward to whenever you actually get a chance to implement it. : )

I've been toying with the idea of restarting an old game that I really botched the first time around. Somewhere between normal and free form. Definitely starting at low level. I've learned a lot about how to DM since then and I think I could handle it without totally losing it now, but I'm not sure I have the time to devote to it. And I don't want to pull time away from Avalon. We'll see. I think part of my issue was how I timed the game. I think it would work better if some of the NPCs I had as commanding officers were contemporaries instead and the night watch was still in really cruddy shape as opposed to starting to look almost repectable. :)

Well, it ties in with arcs in this game actually being finished first. Care to guess, oh telepathic friend? :)

A marvelous, marvelous question. One whose answer will, at a minimum be a headache for Ryo, methinks. :-D

Which, actually, might help a lot.

Male I am a meat Popsicle

why do i get the impression that you all know what is being discussed here without being actually talked about?

Shadow Lodge

I got that impression once to, when E7's Jiminy and Aananda started talking. Except for maybe Lyn and myself, we've got no idea what others are planning unless they tell us directly.

Lyn and I are just weird telepathy buddies.

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

I got that a lot when playing with E7. Mostly just because we were both really good at improv. :)

In the current game I often do have some knowledge of what's going on, but not always. Keep in mind, good at improv. Unless it's with DB3, in which case we just seem to think at the same frequency or something. :)

Shadow Lodge

I knew she was going to say that![/psychic joke] ;)

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

Augh! Today is kicking my butt. Pretty much just like the weekend. Fighting off dehydration as my digestive system is apparently trying to kill me. :(

Male Drow (noble) 14 Ranger

I've been drinking water like crazy since my surgery. No pop no coffee...I feel really good, oddly enough.

Warforged Engineer Alchemist 16/Armiger 16 Champion of Creation

I drink about 2-3 quarts of water a day. I've got a big ole thermos that I have to fill 3 times every 48 hours, usually.

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

Drinking plain water has always been a problem for me. More than a cup of water at a time and it honestly makes me nauseous. Weird but true. I buy carbonated mineral water to combat this problem.

Warforged Engineer Alchemist 16/Armiger 16 Champion of Creation

Strange. I've always had a problem drinking tap water because of the taste around here, but recently I've been just fine with it.

On a completely unrelated note, I've been spending way too much time in IRC. My hands keep trying to /me things. And when I'm on IRC, they try to use BBCode.

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

lol. I have lost track of the times I've had to edit my BBCode out of word documents because it becomes so much of a habit from posting here. :)

I have the same problem. I make a lot of juice. As for the other using different formats I have the same problem but from this mmo I play.

She caught me doing this in a story I sent her to critique. #^-^#
