"Six Sigma", I thought that was GE secret code for "we hide problems so that they are really hard to find."

Chaos, which kind of shields did we find - wooden or steel?

All the rest of the weapons/armor aside from shields add up to 419gp retail value; I imagine Ranim can roll her Diplomacy to determine what percent of that we get.

I didn't bother costing the food and drink; I figured that we'd want to keep that for ourselves given the price to buy in Hommlet!

The shields were normal, I don't think these guys were preparing to armor a bunch of nit picky druids.

Arindale wouldn't as a PC but I can as a player if someone else continues to work the treasure shares since I suggested it.

Go ahead and just take 75gp each and I will start the party fund with the donation of 8.8gp from everyone.

Ready to move on to the Moathouse on my end.

Arindale, I'll subtract the money.

Everyone but DM Chaos:

Okay, new scheme.

We buy an empty building in town with what money we have. We setup a general goods store with whatever we loot from the Moathouse this run.

Braden and Tybek head to the current store to 'discuss' the cloak. Also we get Tybek a new drum.

Maegee, talk to the rats, see if you can't convince them that the current store is a great place to hang out.

Arindale, provide the alcohol for the store.

Berashel and I will alternate running the counter.

We lower our prices, drive them out of business and stick it to the shopkeeps! Maybe we'll even add a tavern/inn onto everything int he end.

If by the time we manage to financially takeover Hommlet the world hasn't ended due to inactivity on our part, we go in rich!

Had a nice long weekend out of town, but good grief it was hard to come back to work today.

Yes it was a nice weekend. I played in a monthly Pathfinder game on Saturday night and my character died from an ill timed critical hit Though I was informed the next day that I ended up not dying as the GM used Smite Good on me and I am not good so only at -6. Then our annual family picnic at my brother's house where my whole extended family is there (quite a large number). Then last night's Way of the Wicked game that I run at my house where a PC villain died (And I didn't do it, "friendly" fire)

So all in all a good weekend!

Nice, hopefully I will get into a real tabletop game again soon. It's been too many years.

I was hinting Maegge may have wanted to make a Handle Animal to coax the riding dog along.

Plan is to try and put two down by Barashel where he can make them pay for standing up.

We just need the front line unparalyzed.

Hobbit [hp = 19/22; AC14/T14/ff11; F +1; R+3; W+4 CMD 12]

If we get Barashel a flanked and prone target, true strike may not be needed!

Awesome job guys love it im about half way to catching up with ya!!!!Great party. If your ever in need of a repenting monk who has slipped over to the edge Zanzabar and his log chain of woe would walk with you!!!Good luck guys and great story DM!!!!

Sorry for the delay. Flew east on Tuesday to do the inspection on the home we are buying. Got back to Chicago at midnight. Was awakened at 4:30 a.m. to rumbles of thunder. I spend the next three hours pushing water away from our basement while mother nature dumped 5 inches of water. We got a little in the basement, but I think some ad hoc trenching I did after the last heavy rain worked as we would probably have had six inches or more and instead part of the basement floor remained dry. I would call it a success. Nonetheless, this has greatly cut into my time to post over the past few days. I will try to get something up in a few minutes.

Hobbit [hp = 19/22; AC14/T14/ff11; F +1; R+3; W+4 CMD 12]

Ty, the dolphin is for your flanking.

Hobbit [hp = 19/22; AC14/T14/ff11; F +1; R+3; W+4 CMD 12]

Thought if I dazed the front one, frontline could move past him.

They could have, but there was another, now dead one. Remember, there were three gnolls there and you all could not see any other gnolls last round. I actually put the puppy in the square next to the now dead gnoll, so that would have blocked. This left room for Berashel and Tybek to move forward with Arindale following since he has reach.

I actually screwed up, I think that the now dead gnoll should have been the dazed one, but I put the daze on the archer instead.

Dwarf Rogue 3 (hp: 31/31, AC 18, Touch 14, Flat 14, Perception +7 (+9 Traps), Stealth +13)

Halos would be helpful Chaos. I can never tell who are the beasties and who are the pets. sorry if I attacked anyone's pet. What is a dolphin doing in the dungeon. Is it swimming?

Can enlarged characters, who have a reach of 10 feet, reach over and/or through spaces occupied by allies to attack the enemy?

Hobbit [hp = 19/22; AC14/T14/ff11; F +1; R+3; W+4 CMD 12]

I was talking about my plans for round 3.

If the front guy is dazed, one gnoll doesn't act as a bottleneck for our three capable melee fighters.

I will try to halo them next time. For now there are no beasties.

Yes, Arindale can reach over you, but I believe that he takes a -4 on his attacks. Last roll he rolled a natural 20, so the penalty was irrelevant.

Braden - I am not sure about the rules, but with that many people between you and the enemy, any line of sight spell/ray seems like it should have a miss chance. I would consider the enemy to have partial cover, which I think is a 20% miss chance. Roll a d100 and if it is 20 or less, then the spell is going to miss.

Hobbit [hp = 19/22; AC14/T14/ff11; F +1; R+3; W+4 CMD 12]

Braden misses 1-20: 1d100 ⇒ 35

The hobbit tries to target the gnoll with the big priest in his way. WIth only short range spells left, the forward gnoll is the only one he can get.

Just as a note, next Wednesday I will be driving to the east coast and will have limited internet on Wed-Thursday. My family is moving to the east coast and I may or may not have reliable internet access (or I may have tons if it gets set up). I am the advance party with the rest of the family following in a few weeks.

If I am slow on posting, this is likely why. I shall attempt to post at least once per day, but I really do not know how reliable my posting will be for anywhere from a day or two to two weeks. We are going to get internet from Comcast, and that is always a crap shoot at best.

Hobbit [hp = 19/22; AC14/T14/ff11; F +1; R+3; W+4 CMD 12]

Found it interesting that spell like abilities (which are typically ruled as arcane) now count to qualify for feats (e.g. arcane strike) and prestige classes (e.g. mystic theurge).

Definitely causing some angst on the forums, but will my aasimar cleric/sorcerer that uses daylight and heavenly radiance to make his fourth level a mystic theurge level be too unbalancing? I think not.

I had not read that, but I think I would rule that you need to be able to cast the spell, not just as a spell-like ability. I think having a second level spell like ability sort of fudges things. For instance, one would never have to have any mage/sorcerer/bard levels to become an arcane archer.

If the prerequisite is a specific spell, then I might consider that as a spell-like ability as fine. But when it says "Able to cast 2nd-level divine spells and 2nd-level arcane spells." as with the Mystic Theurge, then I would say that it has to be at least 2 such spells. So, unless you have multiple arcane spell like abilities, it is not going to qualify.

Hobbit [hp = 19/22; AC14/T14/ff11; F +1; R+3; W+4 CMD 12]

You now can see a Magus start eldritch Knight at level 2!

It was also made clear you only need one spell. The minor magic rogue talent will allow arcane strike.

Sorry things are a bit slow. Tomorrow I drive across the country. Hopefully I will have internet on Thursday and time to get things updated. Past few days have been insane.

Hobbit [hp = 19/22; AC14/T14/ff11; F +1; R+3; W+4 CMD 12]

yeah 3rd level should make a big difference in how long we can adventure. Another d6 on channels and I plan to take extra channeling.

Arindale - just as a note, there are definitely undead in this module, but remember, it is not called the Temple of Elemental Evil for nothing.

You all are close to leveling. I will try to check later today. I checked before this battle and you were still a few hundred XP away, but not too far.

Suppose I should start to consider my own third level feat. Any suggestions?

This is more of a classic dungeon crawl, more so than a social interaction module. I am going to try to give it more of a social side, but it is your call. There is a lot of dungeon and a very diverse group of enemies, some smart, some dumb but powerful, some singular and some groups. Just like you have fought so far in the moathouse.

Ranim - pretty much depends on whether you want to go combat, whip/trip, or spells/abilities. This party has most angles covered, frequently with 2 or more people, so it is pretty open how each of you wants to move forward.

The channels are to extend our healing and ability to keep going in the dungeon than to do damage to undead TBO. Another wand of CLW is badly needed as well. We will have to ask around town to see if there are any wand crafters around...

Just to give fair warning, I'm going on vacation August 8-18 and will probably not have internet access. Even after I get back, it may take a few days to get caught up with everything again.

I too am going on vacation to a remote cabin in Maine on the week of August 5 - 9th. There will be no electricity and certainly no internet. The following week I leave for Gencon on August 14th and will not be back until August 19th. Please DMPC Tybek as needed.

Have fun all. I have spent the last several days getting estimates and getting work done on our new home. Trying to move things along, but the next two weeks will probably move slowly anyway with moving the family east. I doubt you two will miss much.

August 14th-18 I too will be attending Gencon, and thus pretty much not posting that week (well, maybe from my tablet while in line, but doubtful).

As I am in Dayton, Ohio for my month of training, I was thinking of driving to GenCon in Indy for Saturday and/or Sunday.

Would love to organize a social outing (dinner or adult beverages) one of those days.

I was going to go this year, but the whole "moving my family across the country in the middle of August" thing got in the way.

Level stuff:
HP 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 bah! 5+3=8 Hit points
Skills:
Diplomacy 1
Spellcraft 1

Feat: Extra Channeling

I am wondering if I should take scribe scroll though...would be helpful to be able to scribe some extra scrolls for healing and spells in general, what do you guys think? For a cleric it is almost a must have...was going to take it at 5th if I didn't do it now.

Male Aasimar (Angelkin) Paladin of Apsu (Oath of Vengeance) 2/Sorcerer (Gold Dragon Bloodline) 1 Hps 31/31 AC 20 FF 19 T 11 CMD 16 Fort +8, Ref +4, Will +8 Init +1 Per +5

Scribe Scroll is nice for spells that are situational uses that you might not want to have memorized. Also nice for some emergency healing.

Create Wand may be also nice for not only healing but some other spells (Lesser Restoration, shield of faith, align weapon, etc)

Create Wand is much cheaper. Scribe Scroll and Brew Potion get expensive quick.

Just my 2 cents.

this is a dungeon crawl for a lot, but you can take time off for crafting. Just remember that these dungeons may regenerate as the evil powers recruit new forces. Or animate undead ogres as the case may be.

The longer you take off, the more likely the rooms you cleared may have new residents.
