playing back in the day, I think GDQ would be more than enough to push us up to 20 without adding slavers

Hobbit [hp = 19/22; AC14/T14/ff11; F +1; R+3; W+4 CMD 12]

I have the g1-3, d1-3, q1 combined volume if needed.

I think G1 started at level 5-7.

A1-4 comes out near the top of the all-time lists and I just remember it was very good. My favorite was S2--Whiteplume Mountain.

The funny thing is that I never remember S2, but Tybek had a character who had Blackrazor and I believe I was the only one to DM that character for a long time. Thus, it is strange that I do not remember the module.

Anyway, if we get there, it will be well in the future. At that point we will have to decide how we wish to proceed. Right now, you all have not even finished the intro to the ToEE. You guys are still in the original Village of Hommlet module (T1) which came out years before the rest of the ToEE.

Hobbit [hp = 19/22; AC14/T14/ff11; F +1; R+3; W+4 CMD 12]

DM's were warned not to let the characters keep any of the weapons in S2, but they were so cool, talking the DM into keeping them was the players' greatest challenge.

I think making it past T4 will take plenty of time :-)

Ah, come on, T1-7 is easy, it just has your basic monsters. Undead, elementals, humanoids, giants, monstrous humanoids, demon lords. Your basic stuff.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Blackrazor was awesome, the rest of the weapons ahhhh...

Hobbit [hp = 19/22; AC14/T14/ff11; F +1; R+3; W+4 CMD 12]

A trident that had a built in cube of force ability.
Nothing to sneeze at. Although its aquaman like abilities would be considered lame by the Big Bang Theory guys.

We hit 87 today, quite hot for April even in central Florida.

40 and pouring rain in Chicago, supposed to be 70 and pouring rain tomorrow

I assume that you all are going to head back to Hommlet. I just need confirmation. Regarding the equipment you found.

20 light shields weigh 120lbs
10 heavy shields weigh 150lbs
12 suits of leather armor weigh 180lbs
50 spears weigh 300lbs
10 glaives weigh 100lbs
6 guisarmes weigh 60lbs
3 battleaxes weigh 18lbs
70 black capes weigh 70lbs
120 arrows weigh 18lbs
200 bolts weigh 20lbs

2 barrels of pickled fish weigh 100lbs
1 barrels of dried fruit weigh 50lbs
4 barrels of salted meat weigh 200lbs
2 barrels of brandy weigh 100lbs

You are welcome to carry everything, but I think even with the donkey, it is going to be slow going with well over 1400 lbs of equipment.

Spent several hours trying to get our backup generator running today because of the weather, unsuccessfully. I should have an update tomorrow.

I say we take the weapons and the brandy. We dump the food out so they can't use it. That's 350lbs less and makes it a bit more managable. We need to take the brandy though, Arindale will insist on that! lol

We can burn anything that's not metal; it's easier and faster than breaking them all individually. Put the capes on the bottom to get the heat going enough to work on the spear hafts, etc.

We might want to keep a cloak for each of us in case we want to disguise ourselves or something along those lines.

Carrying Capcity Math stuff:
So looking into it, it looks like mules are medium sized qudrapeds with a 17 strength, meaning their carrying capacity is...

129 light, 259.5 medium, 390 Heavy.

Theoreitcally it could drag 5 times that amount (give or take conditions), but not sure we want ot overwork it, right?

Ranim has 173 lbs available after gear for a heavy load.

Don't forget about Arin's ass, I mean his mule. She can carry much of the loot as well. Agreed, we should also toss the cloaks except for 6-8 we want for us.

Updates are likely to be a little slow today. We have had close to 6 inches of rain in the last 6 hours and everything around here, including our basement, is flooded.

Male Aasimar (Angelkin) Paladin of Apsu (Oath of Vengeance) 2/Sorcerer (Gold Dragon Bloodline) 1 Hps 31/31 AC 20 FF 19 T 11 CMD 16 Fort +8, Ref +4, Will +8 Init +1 Per +5

I left for work on Tuesday fearful of all the rain and the fact my Sump Pump was running every 7 minutes or so. Yesterday I left on the road fearful of all the rain and that my sump pump was running every 4 and half minutes or so. Today I left the house fearful of all the rain and the fact the sump pump is running less than every 4 minutes.

I fear soon that I will have flooding inside as well.

[(HP 20/26 | AC15 T11 FF13 CMD16 | F+2 R+4 W+2 | Inish +1 Per +3 S.M. +5) Female Suli Bard 3

I lived in a flood plain for 18 years. My basement regularly flooded, sometimes for 2-3 months at a time. When it got up to the house was horrible, a couple times I had to live elsewhere for 4-5 weeks ('93 was particularly bad).

One thing I'm glad about not living there anymore.

We are hoping to move and the town we are looking at is mostly hills. Houses on hills have a much lower chance of flooding than those on the big pancake they call Illinois.

I actually just moved to Illinois (though from Iowa, so wasn't too far)! Course kinda knew that since you mentioned Chicago further up.

Where in Illinois? I am doing everything I can to escape from this place. Head back east where the terrain is something other than flat.

I busted my ass snow-blowing and shoveling the condensed rain (it's too wet to be classified 'snow') that fell overnight out of the driveway for an hour this morning; I hope no one's basement ended up actually flooding overnight.

So far the little sump pump that could is still going. It was running every 3.5 minutes yesterday and by today we are back closer to five this morning. (I spent some time pushing some of the rain out of the yard yesterday to hopefully speed up the drying process. Of course this morning we had snow pellets (White but crunchy bits, not ice)

We may get some sun on Sunday but otherwise it will be cloudy with chances of some rain and upper 30's/lower 40's through at least Monday.

Our mistake was not traveling back to Homlett overburdened, it was that we didn't also overburden the NPCs so they would be too heavy to be snatched by frog-men!

I like your way of thinking, Berashel! "Listen, you have to carry these 2 suits of plate mail armor. I don't care that you're a little girl, it's for your own safety. Do you want me to tell you the story of the little girl that didn't get saved by the archer from the Bogart?"

Sweet, the sewer started backing up again. Fixing it right means at least $1700 to snake today and pressure-jet the line (with no guarantee of success) tomorrow morning. Whatever moron planted a tree directly on top of the main needs a viscous ass kicking.

I hope all your basements are doing better than mine!

We are in the process of ripping out the bottom 12 inches of drywall in our basement as the idiot contractor put the insulation all the way to the ground so that it all got wet and would become moldy of left as it was. Our basement is 7 feet below ground and it is not like the ground freezes more than 1-2 inches in this wimpy part of the country. They were supposed to stop the insulation 18 inches up last time, but apparently decided to insulate all the way to the floor. Thus, the insulation is all soaked now. Grrrr!!!!

Chaos, I am sorry to hear about your basement. That sounds terrible!

You would not believe who I am going to see on Saturday night in Montreal.

UK is doing a reunion concert. I remember listening to that at your house when we use to play Gangbusters. Good times!

Cool, have a great time. It would be a fun show to see. - Danger Money I recall was one of their songs. Not sure what else. Didn't they have an electric violin?

I made it through the last round of rain. Now liking that the sump pump runs a lot less...for now until the rain begins again. (so far three days in a row without rain and only a little bit of snowflakes!)

Supposed to be getting more rain down this way tomorrow, but nowhere as severe as last week. We have a new sump pump, so as long as the power does not go out we should be good.

Hobbit [hp = 19/22; AC14/T14/ff11; F +1; R+3; W+4 CMD 12]

We had our sink bust a pipe during the Ravens Bengals game and filled the first floor of our house with six inches of water. Not fun.

Are you blaming it on the Ravens or the Bengals?

I exaggerated, it was two inches of water. Luckily I found the master shutoff quickly. It is amazing how much water can leak before males watching football notice.

That's not a flooded house, that's an indoor swimming pool.

Today and tomorrow I'm getting certified for a new level of Quality training, so I'm going to be rather, um, busy/tired/wishing I was dead. So there's a chance I won't be able to post for a couple days. Just giving a heads up on that.

If waiting on me to relate the information to the elders, Ranim will simply be honest and open about everything, though taking care to give a positive light on our actions. My diplomacy is +11, and I'll use my trait to make that +15.

Ranim, someone can NPC for you, that is not a problem. Let us know when you are back. Good luck with the lack of quality training.
