Don't mean to do too much prodding, but since Lucian and Victor are clearly shaken up by these odd occurrences, maybe a short holiday in the country might suit them well? Dr. Highsmith did say you could invite some friends if you like.
You know, I was thinking of inviting them but thought I might have to do the other bits of research (speak to the family and the doctor) first.

Maybe I'm just over thinking it. I'm looking to try and push you guys together a little more without being really heavy-handed and railroady. If Martin and maybe Spencer are running interviews and starting to do the meat of the investigating on their own, I don't think I can keep throwing side things and hallucinations at Victor and Lucian to keep them occupied without ruining any cohesive sense of the story or building the sense that you're all "working the same case" so to speak.

A quick refresher on the meeting with Dr. Highsmith:
- Dr. Charles Highsmith is the Superintendent of St. Agnes' Asylum in Weobly, Herefordshire
- Has asked for your assistance since he and the family of a patient are at odds over whether "Patient W" is fit for release- Dr. Highsmith believes that his patient is fit to leave the asylum while the family wishes to see his commitment rendered permanent
- "Patient W" is one Alexander Roby, brother to merchant banker Graham Roby
- Two years ago, Alexander was committed by Order on Petition through Graham and Dr. Lionel Trollope, the family physician, following the ghastly murder of his father and sister
- All of Dr. Highsmith's contact has been through letter with Dr. Trollope- Dr. H believes Graham is leaning on Dr. T to keep Alex locked up
- Alexander is not dangerous- he suffers from night terrors, but the affliction is easily controlled with strong sleeping draughts. Dr. Highsmith strongly believes that he poses a danger to neither himself nor others
- The review for Alexander's commitment is coming up soon. Dr. Highsmith has sent letters of introduction to Mr. Graham Roby and Dr. Lionel Trollope in the hopes that once you have met with those gentlemen and met Alexander for yourselves, you will advise either side on the best course of action
- In the 1920s, the idea of "curing" a patient after commitment is foreign to most people. To the average person, an asylum is just another prison but instead of criminals, it's full of nutcases. In the year 1928, strides are being made toward a more scientifically grounded view of psychological problems, however.
- The particulars of the late Mister and Miss Roby's murder were apparently gruesome and noteworthy- perhaps the newspaper files at the library would have information
Just to have everything in one place- we can even say that Martin relays all this info to Lucian and Victor. Dr. Highsmith is leaving October 30th for Herefordshire on a morning train from Paddington Station, leaving you with a solid day to pack, research and meet with interview subjects. Herefordshire is famed for its fine beef and though the weather is growing colder all the time, Dr. Highsmith has suggested a bit of sport hunting (quayle or pheasant, perhaps) if you wish to make a short holiday of it.

Thanks for the refresher. I was getting ready to go through the thread and note down all the details. And I especially appreciate the opportunity of just having Martin relay all the information to Lucian and Victor. That'll make it easier.
Martin's plan is to attempt to meet with Dr. Trollope first and attempt a meeting with Graham afterward.

Hounds of Tindalos, what are ya gonna do?
I'm hoping to get back up to a proper pace with this game now that we're diving into the meat of the campaign- so I thought it would be good to treat this thread as an investigators' notebook of sorts to keep all the people, places, times and Things Not To Be Named in one easy to reference location. So feel free to take notes here and I'll add anything major that may have slipped here or there or confirm what may be important.

No sleep-walking as of recently - apparently my mind has been resisting the diabolical influences of the Mythos well enough! Though now that there's not snow on the ground, it probably wouldn't be nearly as traumatic an experience to wander out barefoot.
I think Lucian is going to bring the King In Yellow - not necessarily as beach-reading, but more because I think he would be anxious to have it out of his sight for so many days. Just drop it in the bottom of his bag and know that it's there.

Hey gang,
I just got a call that someone canceled out of a work conference at the last minute and I need to take their place. So I'll be on the road today and not likely to post until this evening. Sorry about that. My posting for the weekend while I'm at the conference may be a bit spotty as well.

I didn't realize that I hadn't posted here about moving. Sorry about that. I got an infection in one of my teeth sometime the week before last and I got sick from it. Last week is kind of a feverish haze.. Anyway, my move is complete, internet is back up and my antibiotics have started to take hold and do their work. Just have to catch up on what's been happening here and I'll hop back in! BTW, I don't recommend anyone attempt moving after a week of not eating any solid foods. :-P

Good, I'm glad! I figured it's pretty difficult to mess up clogging a toilet, but there had to be some penalty for failure- either rupturing the pipes or just getting wet. This taking place in London, something a bit more dry and less slapsticky seemed more appropriate.
Edit: I'm going to add that posting may be a bit slow on my end since work will likely be pretty busy and I won't have much time to hide at my desk and update via iPhone.

Hey James, I just picked up the first part of Slumbering Tsar. Did you do the art on Pg 3? I saw it and immediately thought of your style, scrolled up to the credits page and was pleasantly surprised to see your name.
Nice work(assuming it is yours and I'm not making an ass of myself..).

You're in VT, Jelloarm? I work in Brattleboro, myself. Where abouts are you?
Anyway, between the hurricane and a ton of other things including the approach of Labor Day weekend, my schedule has been really full. Sorry for not being able to contribute more to the game the last couple of weeks. I'll try to get back into the full swing of things next week when things will hopefully settle down.

I'm up in Burlington myself - so way up on the other corner of the state. I'm originally from New York, but got sucked in my the state's infectious charm after I was done with college - so here I am!
I am also going to continue to be AFK through the weekend - trying to hastily craft updates right now before I finish packing.
