If Truk makes his reflex save, could he use his spider climb effect to cling to a wall and continue his assault? It doesn't seem like his spider climb effect takes an action.

Yes, which is why Niyut in game has a more agnostic view on what might have happened as can be seen from her reaction. For all she knows, the ley-line is like one of those old party-line phones that when you pick it up you can over-hear the neighbors talking. Me out of game generally assumes that the worst, dramatic that can happen probably will happen. :-)

Yes, he can, however, he's on top of a collapsing tower that is falling into the city. So, he can cling to the tower and ride it down... which incidentally brings him relatively close to the cliff giant.

Perhaps, although a reminder of the essence gathering rules certainly wouldn't be unwelcome.
I'm considering throwing my 1/day fireball from the staff as my next action. It would be devastating on top of that wall.

Arcane, Ethereal, and Elemental essences can linger for hours before being lost. I think Life Essences persist 1 round / 2 HD (Minimum: 2).

I did notice this: Inæthrÿrum Heritage (Bonded Only)
The knowledge of Lorrynor grants the wielder of the Sage Staff a +5 bonus to all knowledge checks regarding the Elven ancestry. Additionally, at the beginning of each day, the Sage Staff calls upon one of the children of Ealiannë to infuse their life essence into the staff, granting it additional powers. (EE1)

You know the magic item that you dispelled for 1d4 rounds? It was a magic bridge that they used as a ladder/ramp to get up the wall. If we controlled it, the cavalry could cross the river.

It clearly can be used multiple times in a day since they used it at least twice. Once to get people to the eastern side of the river and again to scale the wall. I recommend he fly close to the ground near the base of the stairs and start scanning with detect magic.

She sensed that they were rapidly approaching but wouldn't be able to ascertain an arrival time.

Apparently, the final update I did on this Discussion thread happened right before the big boards failure. And a week later when it was back up, I had forgotten to update the wiki. I'll do that asap.
Do you know what the options are for the last sentence of this ability?
No, he does not. I'll need to finish that up and he can do some discovery at our next down time. Remember... he attuned with the item just today and hasn't been able to use that feature yet as it must be done once a day during spell preparation.
You can indeed use spider climb to stay in the fight. From the discussion thread, riding the debris down would take you near the giant and allow you to continue the attack.
Riding a 50' tower to the ground won't, however, be without its own danger and subsequent potential pain. Let's see how this works out, shall we?

Cool on the crit. Are they not using longbows? Because the Crit multiplier would be x3 not x2.
Riding the tower down is such a boss move! The pain would be worth it.

2. Where the wall crosses the river does it arc over? Is there a river gate or unobstructed flow? If there is a gate, is there room for a small bird to fly through?
3. If the gnolls were to get off the wall and into the city will you please mark where they would get off the wall? Where are the steps to get on the wall? Can we get those marked too?

Sorry, got ill over the weekend. Back at work today.
1. There was a mysterious thunderclap when we joined battle was that a sign that the weather is stormy (or a storm is coming) or was it something else?
You don't notice any bad weather or storm coming. You'd assume something else, but unsure what it was.
2. Where the wall crosses the river does it arc over? Is there a river gate or unobstructed flow? If there is a gate, is there room for a small bird to fly through?
There is a low arch over the water but not bars. A bird could fly under it easily at the current water levels.
3. If the gnolls were to get off the wall and into the city will you please mark where they would get off the wall? Where are the steps to get on the wall? Can we get those marked too?
The only exits off the wall are in the towers. There are no direct stairs from the walls to the ground level. However, with the western tower of the river gate destroyed, they could climb down it quite easily. It would be rough terrain, however.

It actually should be 7 damage because of your flame shield, but I still recommend turning invisible at your earliest chance. Also remember you can quicken two more spells today.

Thanks Niyut, and I likely will. You can't really blame them for targeting the flying wizard who's causing so much trouble.
I actually don't remember where I can quicken spells from.
I swear I am going to reorganize Malz's sheet so I can track everything I can do more easily. I absolutely love this game and the homebrew mechanics are a ton of fun, but gods be damned it's complicated remembering it all on top of being a god wizard.

It operates as per the spell, which I believe will end. As far as I know, you can shift into a single beast form for x minutes. You can't change into a second creature and if you revert to your true form the spell ends.
