I wasn't moaning about being bad in combat, I know a lot is luck. I am just trying to figure out how to be most useful. If that means stepping back to ranged to allow more of you into the melee then so be it. I am worried that as I move up in levels that this sword/board two weapon thing might end up stretching my ability points too thin.

![]() |

Yea low levels are mostly luck. Though I think in this party you may have more fun with an archer of some kind. Or you could be a switch-hitter, having ranged feats and melee feats. As a fighter you can afford to do both.

The only things you can't do in a First Level Rebuild is "Sell back expended or gently-used expendable gear" like arrows, scrolls, or potions. Full refunds on stuff like armor, weapons, and whatnot are totally kosher though.
Side-fact: This is the Rough Draft of Steve replacement; ranged damage, trapspotting, and a fun shtick to keep me interested (Nets and lassos while riding a giant slug companion later! Tally, ho!) Any glaring errors or concerns?

James is done except for the stat line. Went archer build, still carries a greatsword for times when ranged stuff won't work or one of the horcs let some mob get through. He'll protect the spellcasting group.

Hilariously enough, what I built to fill Steve's slot was a switch-hitting Ranger-ish thing. Looks like entangling foes is still my best option (which is good, because that's why I have 2 nets and 2 lassos and am encumbered until I drop most of my combat-irrelevant gear.)
Though he's probably still more helpful than Steve.

James is updated on the site. Stat line is right.
Equipment:
Sold backpack, longsword, shield, shortbow, arrows
Bought mw backpack, mwk comp longbow +3 Str, greatsword, greatclub, 50 cold iron arrow, 20 silvered arrows.
Used 2 PP to buy CLW wand.
Changed abilities to more inline with archer, feats changed to PBS, Precise Shot, fighter feats changed to Deadly Aim and Rapid Shot. Dropped archetype.
Is there anything else you need to check?

For cold iron/silver, one or two weapon blanches usually do the trick it for me. I didn't bother on Xenon because he's all about NOT killing weird stuff (and he's used to animals anyways.) The second, you can usually just greatclub them (since there's not a lot of flying, bludgeoning-requiring bads in memory.) If you've got the Ultimate Equipment (or Elves of Golarion, I think) to buy them, they wouldn't be a total waste regardless.

Yeah i got the 50 cold iron, usually the moment we get a bit of cash, I buy them and use them as my default ammo. I got the silvered in case we run into something like that. Ooo, i did forget blunt ones. thanks. Add those to the mix.

Letting all of my games know this. I recently got a promotion to supervisor. Until there is an office of sorts for me, I am stuck on the floor with my direct reports. Today, it was announced one of the guys on the other team would slide back under me. He's a bit of a whiny baby, so I am going to have to stay off the internet during the day, even when I am on break or lunch. That means I'll be posting at night and weekends only. If that means I need to bow out, I understand.

Sethious is in the same boat, for more "firewall"-y reasons, so I doubt its truly an issue.

Most gaming sites are blocked at work, but this one isn't. The d20pfrsd site is. Every site DMs use to host maps, blocked. I have a tablet that access the maps most of the time.

I was reminded that vermin are immune to the sleep spell in another thread (but not sleep effects in general). My mistake in casting the spell earlier (although it made its save, so the effect was negligible)

Alright! Everyone give me a Day Job if you have one.
You've taken out the BBEG for this level and have only a couple more spiders and a spider swarm left, which I'm willing to handwave, since they are getting tiresome.
I'll work on Chronicles tonight or tomorrow and get this reported.
Let me know if you plan on continuing taking the Land Rush. (Torque, is the only one, I think?)
And level up!

![]() |

Because you were thinking of buying a dog? There is a PFS vanity that allows you to use Handle Animal for a day job I believe.
Nuria performs a Radif for the local Hellknights.
Perform: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14

![]() |

So I suppose that this is directed primarily at Torque and Damien, but if you have a handy way way of producing fire, fog, or smoke, I have a song now that allows party members to see through them. It might be of tactical interest if I at least bought you a scroll or two of obscuring mist or fog cloud (nothing like that on the bard spell list, unfortunately).

![]() |

There are already plenty of spells on the sorcerer spell list that fit the bill - you don't need UMD to cast them. You might need a caster level check if the spell level is higher then you can cast, but that's typically (much) easier then a UMD check anyways.
Obscuring Mist - Sorcerer 1st spell level
Fog Cloud - Sorcerer 2nd spell level
Solid Fog - Sorcerer 4th spell level
Wall of Fire - Sorcerer 4th spell level.
Those are all Core Rulebook.
(Not to be overly pedantic, but you don't need to know a spell to use a scroll if it is on your class spell list)

If I remember from a discission when this came out, it's a magic item that, when attuned to a specific point on a floor, let's you essentially Magic Elevator to said point. Like a security badge for an elevator in a real skyscraper (just upside down here.) If you get the "code" for floor 15, per se, you can avoid walking through 1-14 to continue.
No djob, by the way.

This has been reported and everyone should have received your chronicles. Let me know when you've leveled, and I will get us underway.
SPIRE TRANSPORT TOKEN
PRICE 600 GP
SLOT none CL 7th WEIGHT —
AURA moderate conjuration
This small token is a thumb-sized cylinder of unbreakable greenish glass. A Spire transport token allows the bearer to use the Emerald Spire’s transport function. The bearer can teleport to a level only if she knows and speaks its identifying rune.
CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS COST 300 GP
Craft Wondrous Item, dimension door, a small shard chipped from the Emerald Spire
So you know those sigils you've seen in Azlanti that stand for numbers....
Running this for PFS, I'm not sure how useful they are. I haven't read through the entirity to know if you need to jump between levels, but I know there is the suggestion, that in Campaign Mode/Homebrew, you could have previously cleared levels reinhabited. Plus the time it takes to travel up and down from the ground level to 15 levels down, maybe?

So I have some gold. Mithral Shirt, basically +1 AC for about 1k gold. Handy Haversack, which would increase my ability to carry more stuff. Adaptive on my bow, for those times when someone makes me weaker. Or save up?
Or Efficient Quiver..for all my arrow storage needs.

![]() |

Doesn't Masterwork count as a +1 Enhancement? Or does it have to have another +1 from magic? I know the +1 doesn't stack with the MW bonus. And I guess I misfigured the +1 bonus is only 2k, in my budget.

Purchases made
I will lend Damien a scroll of obscuring mist to use in conjunction with my song.
I put a potion of cure light in a hip flask and let everyone know what it is, ant that I'm not actually a lush.
Ready!
