Max Smithson |
Max turns and fires an arrow at the gryph struggling with Fajra. Following it with a second just as quick.

The Elusive Trout |
Xarl charged into the water, surprised to encounter an alarming amount of mud underneath (which isn't to bear mentioning how deep the water became). Reflex DC 17 to complete your action.
Also, Max killed a chicken do its best Alien impression with extreme prejudice.
Eliah Daring |
With a kind yet amused smile, Eliah responds, "Heh, a nice name indeed. You picked it yourself, I'd wager." With that, she turns to go collect rocks, and maybe some berrries if they're lucky.

Sorry for the delay all, I've caught a nasty cold and forgot to check this weekend. xp
The Elusive Trout |
Between the two adventurers, they carry off more stones of varying sizes than can be transported without a cart.. or magical means.
Eliah succeeded in finding berries, too, though a quick bite shows them to be an overwhelmingly sour fruit. They're also an odd blue that stains the fingers, lips, and tongue.
The entire process takes a good four hours. The sky begins to darken, and Salty and Eliah return to the hut to find the cauldron outside empty and a fire being stoked.
Tuich |
"Stop that!" squeals Tuich as she slashes at the beakish bird again.

I hope their not poisonous?

Eliah helps prepare dinner if needed, taking time to write down her experiences so far in her journal when an opportunity arises.
The Elusive Trout |
You'll never guess what this is for.
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
By the time the sky starts to darken, there is a considerable number of muddy bricks outside drying, and Pharysene washes herself off with extreme gusto beneath the pump.
Kenith takes a quick break from scanning the horizon to stare at the conglomerate fey creature.
"We've done well enough so far... Hope the others come home with food, though. And soon."
Lupi, covered from head to foot in mud, proceeds to track it all over the area outside the inn as she looks over their combined efforts.
"Niu, I'm thinking we have enough bricks here to do some significant repairs when they dry...! Scared silly an' all, but this is progress.

Fire elemental: Taking the form of a Small fire elemental, you gain a +2 size bonus to your Dexterity and a +2 natural armor bonus. You gain darkvision 60 feet, resist fire 20, vulnerability to cold, and the burn ability.
A fire elemental deals fire damage in addition to damage dealt on a successful hit in melee. Those affected by the burn ability must also succeed on a Reflex save or catch fire, taking the listed damage for an additional 1d4 rounds at the start of its turn. A burning creature can attempt a new save as a full-round action. Dropping and rolling on the ground grants a +4 bonus on this save. Creatures that hit a burning creature with natural weapons or unarmed attacks take fire damage as though hit by the burning creature and must make a Reflex save to avoid catching on fire.

Tuich gets pegged yet again by her spritely foe. 1 damage.
Fajra sets herself aflame!
Xarl's 3 foes converge on him, but only one beak is smart enough to smack his face. 7 damage.

Xarl cleaves into yet another of the specialty gryphs, and he now sees the target from before. Or... rather... what's left of him. And lots of baby gryphs.
However, the paladin can tell from his explosive power that these creatures are innately evil.
Tuich misses her mark, and the gryph takes advantage of the now-flaming Fajra(1 damage.) whom grapples the creature in flaming tendrils. It's hot sorceress-on-bird action.
I do need Max...
Max Smithson |
Assuming we still have only one gryph on Fajra, the gryph formerly beating up Tuich?

The Elusive Trout |
Max murderates the gryph in Fajra's fire-arms.
The remaining gryphs, despite the fact that they have newborn chicks sitting in the remains of whatever poor fool got there first, decide to cut their loss, taking to the air. And provoking attacks of opportunity from Xarl. Oh, then it's Xarl's turn..
Xarl |
Xarl ignores the creatures as they run away and instead pulls up the person who they were attacking and brings them over to the group.
The Elusive Trout |
END COMBAT
Xarl gets his hands on the body beneath pecking gryph chicks. The technicolor blue hair and stature indicates that the creature in question is a gnome, but there's so much blood and tissue missing that it's pretty hard to conceive that the bloke survived the experience.
A DC 10 heal check shows that the dude has been dead for about hald a minute.
Some of his gear did, though. A wet knapsack is still attached to his person, and it's full of sculpting tools. There's a copper locket on his neck inscribed with the letters "V, S" in the common script.
Xarl |
Xarl looks at the dead gnomes body.
"Well at least he can have a nice grave."
Xarl will search through his personal effects to see if he has any sort of identification before he begins to dig a hole for the gnome. He also kills any baby chickens that are on or around the gnome.
Tuich |
After walking a short distance away, Tuich quietly intones "క్యూర్ కాంతి గాయాలు."
Cure Light Wounds=>Self: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Ah crippity-crap DiceBot, go pick on somebody else for a while would ya, geez!
Xarl |
It was in ooc so I didn't know if we were going to do it or not.
"Very well I can carry the corpse then if you wish to keep it from decaying."
The Elusive Trout |
Sorry, it was all I had to go on, so it was what I posted.
The party presses on, Xarl tasked with carrying the macabre object. The waterside from that point on is mercifully empty in comparison, with sporadic groves and slightly-off wildlife that in no way hampers the party.
The plants have places where they grow with excess energy, meaning that the soil must be of exceptional quality.
By mid-afternoon, the group has reached a fork in the river. Some of the water flows in from the northeast, whilst other bits flow southwest. A patch of purple flowers marks the bend, with leaves that wave without prodding from the wind.
Tuich |
She stops and studies the flowers that seem to wave on their own. "I know how that feels. Friends of yours, Toolie?" she asks with a giggle.
Max Smithson |
Max walks up to Tuich and hands her a wand. "Use this, save your magic. I've got an extra. Although, I haven't seen a wand shop. Either way, keep alive. None of us can bring you back from the dead...yet. But between our magic we can keep you safe. When we stop for the night, I have special divine help, I'll use it then. Toolie, keep an eye on her."
Max looks around. "Well, if any of us our farmers, we should be able to grow something. Let's go I am confused, we are following upstream and we have another stream that flows out, or are those two different upstreams? upstream to the southwest?"
we were initially headed upstream, correct--I checked which is why I ask, but it's been a while, with us fighting demon chickens. We were going westerly, so keep going westerly?
Tuich |
Max Smithson |
Xarl |
I suggest we go back for now. We have just found a dead gnome, and we can bring back the chickens as a food source for the tavern while we travel even further.
