"I see a flock of Gryphs. They are hawk sized and stork shaped. They are greasy looking with six legs and beady eyes. So basically really freakishly ugly birds with wicked beaks. Foe. They will lay their nasty eggs in you, then you die! The other thing I'm not sure...the Gryphs are blocking it sorta. I'm going to move higher and closer. I can't tell if the Gryphs are afraid or not?"

Please, can you tell me where we are??" She continues to hustle in the direction of the woman unless something else happens.

Buffs for the Buff and Not So Buff:

Madame DM Please let 'us' know if my following action is not permitted.
"Wait guys don't go just yet. I have a couple spells I would like to cast on all of you. One will protect you from evil and I can cast it on everyone. The second gives you the strength of a bull and technically speaking I can cast that on everyone as well but it does magic users like myself a fat lot of good."

Protection From Evil:
If cast on all three of you it will last about 3 minutes.
This spell wards a creature from attacks by evil creatures, from mental control, and from summoned creatures. It creates a magical barrier around the subject at a distance of 1 foot. The barrier moves with the subject and has three major effects.

First, the subject gains a +2 deflection bonus to AC and a +2 resistance bonus on saves. Both these bonuses apply against attacks made or effects created by evil creatures.

Second, the subject immediately receives another saving throw (if one was allowed to begin with) against any spells or effects that possess or exercise mental control over the creature (including enchantment [charm] effects and enchantment [compulsion] effects, such as charm person, command, and dominate person). This saving throw is made with a +2 morale bonus, using the same DC as the original effect. If successful, such effects are suppressed for the duration of this spell. The effects resume when the duration of this spell expires. While under the effects of this spell, the target is immune to any new attempts to possess or exercise mental control over the target. This spell does not expel a controlling life force (such as a ghost or spellcaster using magic jar), but it does prevent them from controlling the target. This second effect only functions against spells and effects created by evil creatures or objects, subject to GM discretion.

Third, the spell prevents bodily contact by evil summoned creatures. This causes the natural weapon attacks of such creatures to fail and the creatures to recoil if such attacks require touching the warded creature. Summoned creatures that are not evil are immune to this effect. The protection against contact by summoned creatures ends if the warded creature makes an attack against or tries to force the barrier against the blocked creature. Spell Resistance can allow a creature to overcome this protection and touch the warded creature.

Bull Strength:

I would probably only cast this on Max and Xarl but I can cast this level spell 7 times so if it can benefit Tuich her too. It will last on each of you 10 minutes.
The subject becomes stronger. The spell grants a +4 enhancement bonus to Strength, adding the usual benefits to melee attack rolls, melee damage rolls, and other uses of the Strength modifier.

Sorry couldn't figure out how to do a spoiler within a spoiler so the bottom two are descriptions of spells I am trying to cast. DEFENSIVELY!

To the best of my knowledge spoilers can't be nested. Save your power on the Bull's Strength with Tuich, she's a Weapon Finesser plus is too much of a melee lightweight anyway.

The red shirt platoon:
Normally an archer wouldn't need Strength, but my bow has adaptive on it, so it will increase my damage. The other thing is, does bull's strength stack with other strength enhancers? like belts and such? I don't think so, but perhaps it's a different bonus? I don't have any enhancements to Strength, but Xarl probably does.

May save you a spell slot, if I am the only one who would benefit, if there's another spell you can cast in it's place, might be better. Not sure what your spells known list looks like for that spell level.

Salty y Eliah:

The addressed woman has her head peer upwards and incline in the direction of the voices, but there is eerily no response. She doesn't move to attack, however, and there are no emotional tells from the visible parts of her face. She lets her hand rest on her gardening tool for a moment, and then moves to greet her company after grabbing a staff from some sickly weeds, which she taps in front of her.

At full height, she's tall. She doesn't, however, speak. An errant breeze blows hair away from her face to reveal a mass of scar tissue where her eyes should be.

She beckons with her unprobing hand.

Unable to detect anything nefarious about the gardener, Eliah approaches to about 20 feet before pausing for another greeting in common.

Having usually relied on translators during her excursions, Eliah knows more dead languages than any useful current ones. 'But maybe...' She tries greeting her again, in Thassilonian this time.

I think we are ready to move on. Xarl, followed by Tuich and Fajra and then Max at the rear, watching the backtrail and such. If Fajra wants to give him Bull's Strength, that would be fine, but it's not necessary.

spell revision:
I can change the Bull Strength to Moment of Greatness which is a radius spell so every one would benefit. Those spells are pretty much the only buffs I have. I have some that are 'attack' types though.

Moment of Greatness:

The caster and allies within a 50-ft. burst centered on the caster
Each creature affected by this spell is given the potential for greater success and glory. If the affected creature is benefiting from a morale bonus of any type, it can double that morale bonus on one roll or check, before making the roll. Once an affected creature uses this spell’s effect, the spell is discharged for that subject.

Away Team:
All you ranged folks should stand close to me, since I give off some auras and when I hit with my ranged attack, you get Precise shot for free for the next turn. So you'll reduce the -4 penalty for firing into melee, nice for you. In addition, that allows me to also get close to touching you with LoH for healing...I know grouping together is sometimes a bad deal, so something to think on. I also have a spell called Rally Point which produces a 5 ft square that allows you to gain +2 morale bonus and 2 temp hit points per level (not sure if the morale bonus scales?) Anyway. it's like a nice little buff spot, can only use it once, but still, nice to have. Lasts 10 minutes from me. Probably a great spell for a big party. And great synergy with Fajra's Moment of greatness.
Maybe Trout knows off the top of her fins if my spell scales the morale bonus?

I keep forgetting I am not CL 10...so 7 minutes and 14 HP.

No objections here. Tuich can also do some minor touch-based healing, though her capacity's pretty limited at first level. And the few buffs she has are also touch only. So her hanging close makes sense in both directions.

A map to give you a brief idea of how this is going to go down. You guys are the people. The monsters are the swords. This is after you leave the reeds and get a clear view.

After about a minute of preparations, the adventurers edged forward to find the gryphs awaiting them in forward formation like some form of greasy feathered army.

The woman stiffens at the use of the Thassilonian tongue and takes a marked step back, bringing her staff to full bear in front of her.
She pulls out a free hand and wiggles her fingers until she hears the aquan tongue and relaxes slightly.

She scratches her staff into the ground and reasserts her hand with a series of gestures.

Spellcraft 17 indicates she is casting detect thoughts. Regardless, I need a will save to see whether or not she gets anything from this feed.

Sweet and Salty:

The woman relaxes once she hears the woman's thoughts in draconic, but doesn't appear to understand the common tongue. She raises her head and emits a strangled sound, dropping the scarf around her lips far enough to indicate that there's more scarring, and one could predict, horrific damage underneath.

She taps her staff into the ground and motions again for the duo to follow her. She starts to make her way back to the hovel.

Though Tuich missed horribly, the sorceress set three of the greasy birds aflame, leaving them hopping mad. I hope you don't mind that I moved you to F3 to make this work.
