Hello, my name is The Elusive Trout. I am a hobbyist gm who would like to create a walk-in sort of rp using the pf system. The rules would be simple. You create a character or scavenge an old, rejected, or unused one, and if you post it here, I will check to see if it, at least cosmetically, will function in a completely random campaign where you will be flying by the seat of your pants.

It will take place in Golarion, so you don't have to worry about that. I will be starting you out in a rural village in

I can only take five of you at a time.
Also, I won't be able to post as much come mid-September, but I'll still try to keep up.

Your level would start at one.

I'm toying with two locations to start with: Bag Island, or Maheto, in Taldor.

I'm in!

Display character and it shall be so... unless this is the character?

Ah. So it is. Welcome, goblin brother. Calculate encumbrance, and we shall be good.
Also, deity is Norbort?

I will alter that. Was just a joke on my part.

Have any preference on where we start?

I'll bite; is it point buy? If so; what value?

Actually, you can 20pt buy... or roll 3d6 7 times right here and drop the lowest value.

/returns from stalking

And your barbarian is fine as-is with stats.

20 pt buy sounds good... I am toying with either a Catfolk or Half-Orc Magus concept; I can have it up tommorrow morning.

That would be awesome. Do you have a preference as to where we start?

Ooh! Ooh! I'd love the chance to RP with the trout!

Weight calculated.

Maheto sounds as good as the other. Bag Island sounds like they have to many hobbitz.

Then, gentle soul, get a level one character ready. M' not picky. Seriously, I'm not, but it's 20 pt buy or roll 7 sets of 3d6 here and drop the lowest for stats. Or, you know, you could pop up a recycled character and I could take a look-see at the stats.

The other one has lotso doorfz.

Well, you're done then.

Well, this would be one of ShadowyFox's failed oracles (didn't make the final cut for a CotCT game).

He will suffice.

He'll need equipment, though, and perhaps a new backstory... Though there's no need to rush the latter.

I know everyone hates Zen Archers, but still would like to throw mine into the mix - this alias is an unfortunate spillover from a Rappan Athuk incursion that ended very early after it had started.

So this would be my "scavenged, old, rejected, or unused one" even though he is at level 3 :D

Absolutely will get to both of them. I'm horrid at equipment, so that'll be what I do first. Just have to wait on the background to know where we're going and how it'll start. :)

De-level him and you're in. Oh, and add weight to your equipment.

>:P Challenge accepted.

So, I got Feral in the mix, too.
Shadowy, Andrea, Tessai, Feral, person I don't know yet.... that makes five.
I said six to Feral because I wanted him no matter what. As a result, I'll take one more.
Then, we're closed with a rogue, zen archer, magus?, oracle, and ?.

Perfect! Thank you for taking me in - will proceed in de-leveling him.

Should be ready soon :D

EDIT: I should keep the stats, reroll, or...?

No problem. It's amazing how much gets thrown away, hm? Stats are fine as is, I think. You have quite the dump stat, though.

You could 20 pt buy to remake them or roll 7 sets of 3d6, dropping the lowest, if you were so inclined.

I gotta agree that the dump is kinda stooping too low - I may give it a tad adjustment to not having it so dramatic.

It is also a measure of his background, with Asura ancestry to start off, and then brought up in semi-seclusion. Lets just say his social skills are not his strongest suit in many aspects.

I will re-crunch it and you'll let me know :D

Okay, Zeltor.

Ok, so I have slightly re-crunched Zeltor stats, but no dramatic change - I am thinking any further changes would depend on what we are playing, the setting, the theme, feel, etc.

For now he is as he is :D

/waves at Trouty and the rest.

Can I join?? I'll re-fix the ability points (I think I used 25 for my last campaign with this guy but I could be wrong) if needed.

He is an Elven Dervish Dancer Bard that uses the Elven Curve Blade.

EDIT: Fixed Ability Scores and Skill points need to fix backstory a little to fit in with this area (change names etc.)

And...done! Let me know if something (like the family name) needs changed...

Scarab Sages

3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 6) = 93d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 2) = 73d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 1) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3) = 103d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 4) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3) = 73d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 6) = 10
No offense guys, I just wanted to see what I would have gotten had I tried to join your campaign. As it is I'm full, but enjoy these stats.

Those are awesome! I am guessing DM Oladon got near you at some point. He's given you the curse.

Okay; That's six with Horfil added in.
Jametor, how's it hanging?

Your craft should probably be smithing, jeweling, etc.

Something to do with metal.

Just waiting for my next horribad roll due to the curse.

Trout on!

How much starting gold? if avg. then I will have to make a few adjustments to my gear (avg. is 105 g (for bard) Horfil's gear total was 150 g (got lucky on some rolls in my previous campaign))

You can keep the 150.

Sorval wrote:

No, that's fine. I just need you to calculate the weight of your gear and discern whether you're male or female. I found evidence of both in your profile.

That's okay, too, though, if that's what you're going for.

It looks like we're starting in Maheto in the northern foothills of the World's Edge Mountains.
This is going to be a Taldan experience, but it will be fluid.

Obviously I still have to change the fluff and put together gear, but the one question I would have is: do you think I should change out any of his skills to fit his new environment?

Nope! Your skills are pretty universal.

Okay- now I'm done with her.

Quite the group of races we have here...
Catfolk, Goblin, *cough* Human *cough*, Tiefling, Elf, and Feral (not a race but a persons name)

(I'm still new to role-playing any tips if possible would be nice though I understand that everyone has to learn how to role-play by themselves and "be the character they made".)

By the way who is Feral?

Feral's a force of nature in player form.
He's probably going to be a minotaur race from a third party supplement that I've seen in action before.

As for rping, well, it's a good place to learn. For one, I'm going to send you a pm to test the waters a bit to see where to start you.

Feral is one of the more talented folks on the forum.

Liberty's Edge

Flattery will get you nowhere.

Well this is going to be a fun group then... A mismatch of races in a city filled with Dwarves... Taking bets on how long we will last without getting into fights with the locals! (Kidding)

No idea on feral- but tip: try to think "What Would Horvil Do" basing it on their past also; don't be afraid to incorperate some aspect of yourself into your character it can make describing his actions easier.

Pretend it's a taco! /bad advice

Yeah; disregard what I said... instead just focus on relaxing and having fun.

No, I didn't mean your advice was bad. I was just giving bad advice on purpose.
