I guess I'll RP it as Ruul losing his monk level due to being rusty and out of shape. He's spent the past few weeks just working in the mines and the weeks before that on the run. He hasn't had the time to keep his fighting skills sharp.

            Okay: New questions to keep people busy if they wish to fill them out:
1.Have you seen the mythic rules?
I have only perused them so far, not actually read thenm thoroughly. I would say that there are many things I like in there, and that definitely there must be a spot for them in some game - I just haven't figured out where yet. Maybe I should break my commitment to not reading any APs I am not GMing, and take a look at Wrath of the Righteous, to check how the tie in has been done.
As far as using them, I would say I have nothing against it, and would like to give them a try when the opportunity comes up.
2.Would you want to have your characters commission/build things?
For the time being, can see a couple of points in this subject that would be very interesting for me as a player for Zeltor:
- As far as commission goes, besides the usual equipment requests, etc, etc, Zeltor is much interested in History, mainly anything that relates to outsider activity - specifically demons and devils. It ties very strongly to his background, and he would of course be interested in anything that would give him further insight in that area - history books, treatises, leads, and so forth. He would most likely, place frequent orders for such type of items from someone in town that would make them available;
- Building/Crafting is also another thing that I can see as becoming very interesting for this character - Craft (Books) or Craft (Bows) would be the two I would focus on, though unfortunately monks are spread too thin for skill points :/
Regarding building - making improvements at the town school, or participating in the improvement of the current defenses (if needed) would be obviously be paths he would chose to follow, though he kind of lacks the expertise for it;
3.What would you want to see more of in this town?
What about turning the school into a school/academy for the perfection of both mind and body? Zeltor would like that :D
Which makes me think, what skills would one have to amass to be able to participate in such an endeavor - I would say that simply knowing how to fight doesn't necessarily allows you to transmit that knowledge effectively to others, as with any other area of expertise.
Also, would like to gather additional details regarding the environs surrounding the town itself (see below);
4.Are any of you thinking of multiclassing?
Not really, but... I would like to see some skills added to Zeltors' abilities - Survival and one craft spring to mind. Though it is possible to do it untrained, having the Survival skill, besides being useful, would add to that feeling of that History teacher who, during his spare time, scours the areas surrounding town, both for knick knacks (kind of like an Archaeologist), and also for potential threats for the place he currently calls home.
I shy away from multiclassing anything with monk, but I am not fully against it (perhaps a Ranger level, or even a cleric level) - granted these usually allow noticeable mechanical advantages, but also can make for interesting aspects of growing ones' character.
On the aspect of skills, are there any rules for training in a particular skill or area of expertise in Pathfinder, allowing for example stuff like "You trained with X, Y or Z in this area for that many hours. Having surpassed the following skill challenge you now gain a skill rank in the skill W, or something along those lines? I have pondered about this before, but never came across any specific information about this, except maybe in another PbP I was in, where the players and GM came to an agreement regarding this mechanic, so as not to make it too OP or exploitable.
Team Alpha name just shines - keep it! ;)

            At times I may have to DMNPC you or make it so you can catch up via spoilers to a past conversation.
This would simply be done to keep things going a little bit.
In this case, I could assume that Horfil will take Sorval to the theater, for example, and move on from there. You can put up a heading and say how your meeting finished in "flextime", and then come back to the present. A good example of this would be the COT campaign in which Feral played Maddok (And might still, but I hardly see it on the front page).
Would you be able to send me a link to the campaign...because I'm not completely sure what you mean.

            Well, howzabout I show you guys how it works?
Seeing his hand out and ready to shake, Sorval picks the elf up and puts him on her fuzzy head.
---Now---
"Whoa, that theater sucks!" Sorval exclaims, taking out a polaroid camera and taking pictures of the sorry place.
Note: This is an example of flextime; not how any sane person would dmnpc your character.

            Chopper?
Har.
Chopper is intelligent, but lacks in wisdom sometimes.
Susceptible to fear effects.
Also, adorabible and tiny.
Really, though, I love the show because it practically deifies social connection and interdependence between characters. None of them could survive on their own, and they have no shame about depending on and loving eachother.
:)Platonically, of course.

            By the way, Horfil, it is possible to save the theater, but it will take a lot of work.
:) It will be rewarding, though.
@Zeltor- I do do things like skill challenges. It is also possible to get bonuses or ranks in a skill if you practice for it. For example, if you take sculpting classes at night for a while in-game, you'll get that skill.
The same can be said of almost any skill.
I also like coming up with achievements. I just don't have that juice flowing right now.

            I'm trying to think of ways to save the theater but a 2 person show isn't the best thing and Horfil's expertise (despite being a bard) is only in dance, he could try to muddle through singing in Dwarven (total mod being +3) but he doesn't know any Dwarven songs... He also feels that he has caused trouble to Sorval and doesn't wish to add onto what she already doesn't feel comfortable doing.
Part of him wants to save the theater but the other part doesn't want to burden Sorval with more than what she has already accepted which as far as Horfil is concerned is teaching people how to dance.

Hey! Ruul is adorable in a way only a mean side-of-beef can be.
Lacking wisdom is pretty much a constant in anime characters.

Ruul will end up taking some ranks in perform in the future.
He's unlikely to be your strongest performer but he'll give it a try!

            So Horfil might need a little help. However, anything is better than nothing.
As for not wishing to burden Sorval, that's okay.
Offering dance lessons there is not the same as starting a show. You could clean up a section of the main area and simply offer the lessons to the daughters of the up-and-coming merchants, for example.
There is a target audience.
You have to build the reputation of the building and yourself.
Gather the actors.
Recruit a band!
Get capital!
Get a maid or something!
Everything has to start somewhere. It's a sandbox, though, and you can abort at any time.
I'm not trying to make your dream impossible, but attracting dwarven dancers will take fame.
It's an incentive to do things.

Well thanks for the ideas, a lot better than trying to clean up the building and putting on a two person show...
