It has been only a few months since the Galactic Republic was transformed into the Galactic Empire. Since then, the Empire has begun to tighten its grip on the galaxy, employing many anti-alien acts and oppressing the galaxy. Now, the galaxy needs heroes to rise up and save it from this corrupt government. It is aboard a small space station that the first sparks of rebellion begin...
Gotten back into Star Wars recently (for obvious reasons, PS, don't spoil it for me.), so I thought I would try to run this campaign again, as the last time, it fizzled out.
Standard character creation. You can use species and items from other sourcebooks as long as you provide a reference to where it is. Recruitment ends Saturday evening Central Time. Good luck :).
*EDIT* Forgot some things. I have a house rule where Jedi automatically get Use the Force as a trained skill. Also if you are a Jedi, you must explain how you survived Order 66. Also, this takes place a few months after the end of the Clone Wars.

Here is my Neimodian Slicer/information broker (Scoundrel). He's a cowardly, manipulative piece of s!$+ with (once I am finished with the write up) no where else to go. The remnants of the Republic want him, the Neimodians (such as they are after the battle of Mustafar) want him and the Empire wants him.
His best shot is to align himself with some one - anyone to keep him safe, and he'll need to do something that he has never been able to do before - trust others and have others trust him.
I've made him up for another Saga game. I am happy to try something else if you want - I am overjoyed to finally use my Saga stuff. I need to tweak the background details from Sith to Empire and write up some of the stuff above to make him fit.
I could try a fighter or scout as well if thats what you need but will need to generate them from scratch.
| Gotal of Umbara |
Storyteller Shadows' submission.
Umbarans are from the book Galaxy of Intrigue.
Gotal took well to negotiations as a youngling and his powers were directed in the area of Diplomacy and problem solving.
Gotal works closely with Alderaan as one of the more peace loving planets in the Republic and negotiates many deals on their behalf. Some say that Gotal favors the Alderaanians improperly but he pays little attention to such rumors.
On Gotal's 30th birthday, Emperor Palpatine declares war on the Separatists and the Jedi become embroiled in the Clone Wars.
Gotal is recalled from Alderaan to assist, he spurns the Jedi Order once the War begins. He sees the Jedi involvement in the War as abhorrent and refused participation. As the Clone Wars began Gotal spends most of his time on Alderaan negotiating contracts and treaties to assist refugees of the war.
As the Clone Wars end, Gotal is horrified at what happened and is suspicious of the "Empire's" explanation for what took place. As a Jedi not part of the Order, he would not have been "in the line of fire" when Order 66 took place. Having pulled away, he would not be aware of Kenobi's message.
During the last week of the War, Gotal was on Alderaan negotiating a Corporate contract for a development company seeking to assist people who were ravaged by the War. In the intervening months Gotal has left Alderaan where he is a known Jedi and journeyed to the outer rim posing as a spacer. Where he goes from here he is not certain...

Hmm... I enjoy Saga Edition from time to time, and certainly am interested in a Star Wars game given the times. Lemme see if I come up with a good character. Looks like the group could use a dedicated ranged character at this point.
EDIT: You mentioned standard character creation, but how exactly do you want us to do ability scores, of the options provided in the book? I looked at Gotal and Chal's profiles and it looks like they used two different point buy amounts, unless I'm mathing wrong. What would you prefer? I'll roll in a spoiler below in case that's good.
4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 6, 3) = 16 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 5, 2) = 13 = 12
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 4, 1) = 10 = 9
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 3, 3) = 13 = 12
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 3, 1) = 9 = 8
15, 14, 12, 12, 9, 8.

Thanks Castor. At a 28 point buy with stats at 8 I am close. Dexterity should be 1 lower all else think remains same...

Sooooo.....which one do we use? :)
| Zeld |
Zeld's background is done. It's short but what with the Expanded Universe and all I'm sure we can fill it out in one or two novels about her exploits later. Maybe a Zeld Legends trilogy. ;)
As a side note, I had planned on running an abbreviated version of this in Star Wars d20 Revised (and hopefully one day still do) so this is sort of an experiment for me. It's also an experiment in Saga. While I have a few books, I've never played it. All of my previous Star Wars gaming revolves around the West End Games RPG and the d20 versions of the game.

Hey there. I'm interested in this but is there any house rules keeping force using characters from running the game? I remember force powers didn't allow saves
While I understand why you have that perspective, I never found that to be the case in Saga, particularly with the way Force Powers were set-up:
Use the Force check is compared to the target's Fortitude/Reflex/Will Defense to determine effectiveness. Plus once a power was used, it was done for the encounter, unless you have the power in your suite multiple times or roll a 20 on a Use the Force check.
Opinion's vary on this. The talent set-up does a lot to offset many Jedi angst issues.

Hey Korak.
Also, at this time in the Galaxy, a Jedi needs to be judicious with use of the Force of the Empire, and Vader, come down on you!

"Gotal of Umbara. Hours ago, you served to bolster my hope during the Doubt Wars. Now we need you to help in the struggle against thread apathy. I regret that I am unable to present this request to you in person, but the messageboards have fallen under denial of service attack and I'm afraid our mission to unite at a virtual gaming table has failed. While the SAGA system is not open source, enough information vital to the survival of the game has been placed in numerous gaming books sold by Wizards of the Coast and still available on the secondary market. Any good GM will know how to run it. We must all see this adventure path safely delivered to a table. This is our most desperate hour. Help us, Gotal of Umbara. You may be our only hope." Zeld's image looks to the side quickly, then crouches to end the message.

I am kicking around the idea of running an SW game set in the Legacy era...
