[b]"We're making reasonable progress, if the Captain can keep them tied up in negotiations we should get the repairs done in time.
5d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 6, 3, 3) = 16 Now I need to look up what these mean... two successes and an effect but effects don't matter. 2/12
Reason+Engineering 15. Focus Computers: 2d20 ⇒ (5, 19) = 24 One success

Lt. Commander Kestra |

Reason + Engineering to help, burning a momentum because we need to get it done. 2d20 ⇒ (9, 4) = 13

GM SuperTumbler |

By my calculations we started this page of posts with 7 Momentum. Gareb used none. Gareb generated 2 work out of 12 on the track, as he noted. All of that takes 2 intervals, so 30 minutes.
We need Effects dice rolls from T'Karra in her first attempt at Extended Task. We need to know what Dr. Macleod is up to.
Jok'kem, we need rolls from you each time the other groups make a check. Every 30 minutes of narrative time. Gareb and Kestra are moving into their second check, but everyone else is still finishing their first.

Lt. Commander Kestra |

Kestra depresses her comm badge and says, "Chief T'karra, how is your progress? Is there anything you need for assistance?"

Jok'kem |

Not knowing much about the healing arts, the XO will do his best to aid in what way that he can.

GM SuperTumbler |

Time=Arrival+30 minutes
T'Karra slides the intermix chamber back into the warp core. Now to deal with the damaged nacelle. Lt. Morrow, the tellarite, reports, "We have two injection coils to replace in the port nacelle, and a breach in the shell of the nacelle itself. Also, the ejection system is offline, so if we bring the engines back online and something goes wrong, we have no way to eject the core."
You have done 10 work on a work track of 14, so you have 5 more to go. That 10 Work is more than 5, so it results in 1 Breakthrough. You need 2 Breakthroughs total.
Gareb and Kestra did 2 Work with their first round, so 10 Work left. The second check generates 2 Successes with Kestra's help, so you can make another effects dice roll with 5 dice.
Kestra's second check succeeds, so you can roll 7 effect dice.
4 Momentum

Lt. Commander Kestra |

I figured I could roll them this time
7d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 5, 2, 5, 2, 1) = 18
I think I am reading this correctly but I have 9 successes and 2 effects

GM SuperTumbler |

Yes, anything over 5 Work gets a breakthrough. Once you complete all 12 work, any work at all gets a breakthrough.
Kestra and th'Chiaquis make a great team, quickly working through the encryption of the file structures. With a flicker of screen, the file system and names scroll on you displays. You can see the various files, folders, functions of the computer systems, but they are all still encrypted and offline. Just as you are about to celebrate, the doors to the corridor open and a Vulcan male in science blues strides in. "Pardon my interuuption. I am Lt. Tellek. The Captain thought I might be of assistance with getting the computer back online. I was not of much use in sick bay."

Lt. Commander Kestra |

Kestra says to the Lt., "So, how was your research before you got lost?"
To fix the computer 2d20 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5
1d20 ⇒ 5 from Lt. Tellek

GM SuperTumbler |

"My lab was engaged in long range planetary geologic surveys. All preliminary work of course. There are many planets near the Neutral Zone that have never been thoroughly studied. Our mission was what I believe humans would idiomatically call a "piggy back" on the main survey mission. Before the attack, I was studying a particularly fascinating planet. Covered in kilometers high volcanoes."

GM SuperTumbler |

Anything going on in Sick Bay?
Sickbay is in chaos. There are 8 medical staff led by Lt. Commander G'Trel, a male Vulcan. There is no power to run the EMH, and no computer access to medical records. One patient dies because of an allergy to hydrocortiline, something the computers would normally have caught. Several biologists have been pressed into service as medics, but the number of injured is overwhelming them. A makeshift morgue has been set up in a nearby cargo bay.

Gareb th'Chiaqis |

Gareb looks at the Vulcan science officer appraisingly but his instinct can't settle. While Kestra engages him in small talk he makes sure to keep the man in his peripheral vision. He checks to see if the computers are functioning well enough for him to send a message to Commander Lewis.
He certainly hoped he was being paranoid but he was concerned about the man, after all its exactly the kind of daring move he'd try to pull if he was in the Romulans shoes.
Commander Lewis, I might be being paranoid but did you direct a male Vulcan science officer called Tellek to aid us? I'm not familiar with your crew and I hope you can forgive my caution... apollogies for the distraction if I am wasting your time.
Reason+Engineering 15. Focus Computers: 2d20 ⇒ (16, 11) = 27
I am guessing we have four successes total for this round.

GM SuperTumbler |

Yes to 4 successes.
Considering that they were able to use ship to ship communications earlier despite the computer issues, I think you can send a text message to the Commander.

Jok'kem |

Seeing a fellow Vulcan in the Sick Bay, the XO will greet him and then try to direct who he can to help save lives,
2d20 ⇒ (1, 10) = 11

GM SuperTumbler |

T'Karra effect dice: 8d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 6, 3, 5, 6, 1, 1) = 32
T'Karra holds a tool with a pistol grip and a glowing blue tip, sealing connnections in plasma conduits. She completes the last connections and nods to Lt. Morrow. The Tellarite's thick fingers move over an LCARS panel as she initializes the plasma flow. The lines begin to pulse slowly.
"Looks like we are back in business. Let's get out of here and fire up the core."
Time: 1 hour from arrival. Warp power is restored. The ship now has power, but many of its functions are still down due to the computer being inoperative. Much power is still being drained by the emergency force fields reinforcing the hull breaches, but at least those are not in danger of failing now that you have warp engine power.
Gareb effect dice: 5d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 1, 5, 2) = 10 Finishes the work track, and more than 5 Work, so 2 Breakthroughs. That completes the Extended Task.
The displays in the computer core scroll almost endlessly. Gareb, Kestra, and Tellek's fingers fly over their interfaces. They aren't androids, but the 3 of them combined are quite effective. Just as the lights switch from emergency power to standard illumination, Tellek pumps his fist in triumph. He turns toward Kestra, "Yes! computer is decrypted, and main power seems to be back online. Wait a minute. I am detecting a dangerous surge of plasma behind this panel. I recommend that we exit this chamber immediately..."

Lt. Commander Kestra |

Cashing in a momentum, something 3d20 ⇒ (18, 5, 10) = 33
I think either science or Security
Kestra says, "We have made some damned good progress up to now, we are going to unscrew this machine and ship!"
