Now, I've thought at great length about my PC's "battle songs" but at this point I'm at a loss. It doesn't help that during ~90% of the fights my characters get into I instinctively imagine theme music from Final Fantasy VII or VIII (specifically *this one*) and *this* is what I imagine at literally EVERY level up.

Yeah, so I started writing this spiel about a Portugal. The Man song that I thought could have a lot of connections with Cassian - his philosophies, disposition and the like - but it turned into this whole thing and I didn't feel like posting it cuz it made me feel like a pretentious, jabbering a$$hole (or, rather, multiplied the existing feeling). Enjoy the FF music instead!
*Edit* Yeah... I linked the song...
Feel better, boss-man. We can't have you dying just yet. The story is getting too crazy!!!
Leon - I don't take PM5K references lightly. Hell, I didn't think anyone even knew that band existed; let alone ACTUALLY listened to them, lol! Gold star for you, sir. Ahh, nostalgia...
Ael - That scene was heavy. What movie was it from? I definitely have to check it out.

I first heard PM5K when playing one of the old Tony Hawk games and I've liked them ever since.

Word. They're a fun band. We used to listen to that and Tyrn's mix CD's when we played Halo and/or Dynasty Warriors back in high school. Good times...

I've seen that on Netflix but I always assumed it was an old sci-fi film. Shows what I know about judging books from covers and whatnot.
I didn't even check your link but I'm hoping that it lead to "Push It". That song was amazing! Totally right, Static X was (is?) a really great band. Do any of you guys remember Stabbing Westward? I'd link a song but I'm a data nazi when I use the web on my phone. 1 shared gig for 3 people is risky enough, haha!

Nice! I'm really happy to hear that :-)

Announcement!
All characters will be moving to level 6, Leon and Aurora you will remain at lvl 5 until this business with the sniper is finished.
I know that we haven't done much EXP wise but for PBP its annoying to remain at one lvl for months and months of rl. Trust me I was lvl 1 for almost two years in a Kingmaker game. three years later I am lvl 3... Sigh it's all good though I have more then one game and remain patient. However I'd rather reward you for your patience and sticking with me for so long. :)

Dude! Awesome! I had a similar experience in a kingmaker game. It's pretty frustrating.
Having a conflict on character progression, over here. (1) Continue with Lore Warden, (2) Dip into Rogue (fits the character) or (3) Longshot, but dip into Scholar (w/ DM approval on the class). Ugh! They need to make a Rogue archetype with Bardic Knowledge (Gary G just rolled over in his grave and, somewhere in NY, my dear friend Dan just threw up a swarm of hellwasps and gave them my address). I'll sleep on it and post to this craziness when I'm on a real computer in the morning.
Thanks, Cori!!!

Crosses
Don't get me wrong, you can still get them ready for lvl 6 but it's gonna be fun before you get your power boost... Again. lmao. ;D
Cassian
It is very frustrating. Something that I don't wish others to suffer through and so if I must use DM fiat then so BE IT! *Lightning crackles and Xp rains from the heavens* Besides we are playing to have fun and I know that we have had to many long breaks and I am trying to streamline it.
However my growing family and adverse work conditions makes this very difficult at times. :/
Scholar looks neat, I will look it over some more and get back to you.

Awesome! Great scene Corerue! Great sceneS, in fact! As for what Di's gonna do now, I seem to remember that there was an actual temple under attack too, where most of the citizens were gathering? What's happening there? Also, Di will ask Smitty if he needs to make any urgent repairs and how long it might take.
Cassian Vespertine
Decided I'll stick with Lore Warden until level 7 (which should be fun! Leadership, get ready!!!) before branching off into a new class. I'm glad that you're considering the Scholar. It's like a messy little hodgepodge of, like, 6 different classes. Even if I'm not dipping into it now, I'd like to know whether that door is open or shut for the future. So, thanks!
Still have to update my sheet but these are the changes:
Level 6
Class/Level Lore Warden level 6
Favored Class Fighter: +1 hp
HP HD+Con+FC: 1d10 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 1 = 14
BAB +1
Saves Fort +1, Ref +1, Will +1
Fighter Abilities Bravery +1, Fighter Bonus feat (Greater Trip)
Weapon Champion Abilities Weapon Advantage: Add Throwing Dart to the list of Favored Weapons.
Heroic Distinction Nimble: The character gains a +1 dodge bonus to AC. A character must be at least 6th level before selecting this distinction.
Skills 6 ranks + 2 Scholastic + 2 Background. Acrobatics +1, Craft (clockwork) +1 [background], Diplomacy +1, Intimidate +1, Knowledge (arcana) +1 [scholastic], Knowledge (dungeoneering) +1 [scholastic], Knowledge (planes) +1, Perception +1, Profession (airship pilot) +1 [background], Sense Motive +1

I'm finished leveling up.
To keep up the 'Move Things Forward' vibe I figured I'd just blab out the hot points to Capt. Carrol. Lets hope the wisdom damage did some good, eh? Lol!

Remember the WotR thread is up I can repost the link if needed. But it is 8 posts above this one, titled IT HAS BEGUN!
I have another player Recruited as well, but everyone here has first dibs if you're able to handle another game. Tabaxian's are allowed as well as they make a more fitting Catfolk type character race. :)
As I have stated before, pick a character trait from the WotR players guide, it will be important later on and we can have people with the same trait. More posts coming today, camp internet is restored! Woo!
Diyeana Stormwin
Maybe it might be helpful to have all the game and pc creating stuff for WotR posted in the discussion or recruitment thread there? So it's all in one convenient place.

After chatting with Tyrn, I've decided that I'm gonna sign up for this game. I'll dig up the stats I rolled and draw up a barbarian. Gonna listen to some Amon Amarth to get my gears going and I should have something together by tomorrow or Monday.
It's a busy weekend so feel free to move skyfall ahead as it fits. I'd like to share some of the spotlight anyway, so it all works out.
DM Corerue
Apologies for the slow down. Ran into some snaffu's at work and I am working diligently to get through them. Hopefully have some posts up soon-ish.
If there is anything you need clarified please post here.
DI Most of the citizens are more or less mixed up in the fighting, however your offensive has allowed the clerics to take a more offensive role in retaking the temple district instead of a defensive/dig in and slug it out tactic. If you want to land and get into the mix of it thats fine! :D If not let me know.
Also to clarify the Rakers are moving on to easier targets and the one you shot is well, cartwheeling off into the stratosphere (followed by a stall soon enough...)
You could pursue and destroy the out of control Raker. Or I can restate the other districts that were being affected?
Let me know, I didn't want to leave ya hanging.
Cassian, Mir, Ael Will continue the scene as soon as I get a chance, if you have anything else you want to do then you have until tomorrow night. (Alaska time lol) to accomplish it.
Leon and Aurora Thank you for your patience, your bout with the sniper is coming~ >:)
Tyrn Continuing your scene soonish as well~ If your busy let me know.
I understand Ael still has power issues and thats totally fine, no rush as I have been there and it SUCKS lol.
Will press forward tomorrow just thought I'd give an update.
Trying to be more regular about this. Hate leaving ya all hanging. :/

Ah ok thanks Corerue! That helps a lot. Part of my delay was that I had little idea what to do next. The other was I was just a bit busy.
So I think this is what she wants. If there is space for smitty to land safely near the temple, she'll have him do so and command he and Joey to begin to make what make-do repairs he can. She'll assign a small squad to guard the ship and then head out to help defend the temple with the rest of her crew. She feels that the city needs at least one bastion of protection and that the temple is perhaps the best place for that.
Before I make the final decision though I would like to hear the low down on the rest of the districts from what she saw before. It'd be awesome to meet up with Leon and Aurora but I'm not sure I can see how that would happen just yet.
PS If you want me to post any or all of this in the Gameplay thread just lemme know.
OH! And ya, still planning to bring my Warlock into the other game!
Diyeana Stormwin
Ya no worries. Thanks man.
This is a tough call! Smitty's ship was never meant as a war ship. And being damaged already and with our small crew. Getting back into an air fight is just asking for trouble.
At the same time setting down on the ground is just asking to be picked off by the enemy. And once she's down on the ground she's commited to the temple battle. And with so many forces fighting in this battle, well her crew even make a difference? But maybe they will and could turn the tide and help save the temple district...
Maybe she should go try and find her aunt? Or join with a friendly squadron or fleet of air ships??
Ah man! Ok I'll cogitate on it a bit and post soon.
PS I'm open to suggestions or advice (if it's allowed ;)

Cassian's tone doesn't lighten Aurora's attitude, in fact she looks at him in shock before becoming almost stony in appearance. Her voice now was hard, harder then ever before. "You will be disappointed by what you find Cassian, at least this tool had no intention to kill you. Not even now. I want only to cleanse this temple but your path will lead only to its destruction."
She wields the staff, its head crackling with power before closing and discharging the energy harmlessly into the air, causing your hair to stand on end from pure static flow. She looks to Mir. "You"

Can we take 20 on knowledge checks? I'm pretty sure we can take 10 but I can't seem to find anything that gives me a clear yes or no with taking 20.

Urggg!!! Damn your messy work schedule, DM! This past week has been nothing short of AMAZING for Skyfall. I keep refreshing my browser for updates, lol!
