If it wasn't close enough this round it'll pick me up next round, or the round after. I'll continue to move away, but within longbow range of the Frogemoth, until the air elemental gets me.

I'm a little confused about something.
On the map there's a proper river from the north all the way past the city. It's in the spellscar, but it appears wide and open.
Where are we exactly? I thought we'd have a waterway clear of land all the way to the city. I didn't see any swampy area, but perhaps the map is wrong. Is this swampy area going to be an issue when carrying cargo/cannons back?
Also, the Water elemental isn't confined to land. It's strong enough that it should be able to carry us over land as well as water, though at a slower speed.

I made it up, brah. The water is deep enough that boats should be able to float on through most of it, but mostly i wanted it for the encounter.

The last post I think mentions the purchase of cannons is Belor's on p3 of the discussion thread.
Where we were debating between buying 10 ordinary or 6 fiend's mouth, and he leaned towards the later (as I think the rest of us also did).
Now - optimally we wanted them to be +1 Distance, but enchanted goods isn't Alkenstars forte. So I suggest we pick up 6 masterwork Fiend's mouth cannons.
In addition, we wanted 1000 rounds of ammo : )

We let them come get it. We bring one guy out to show him that we can, in fact pay. Then we let them being a barge, or whatever out to collect when they drop off the cannons. I'll even have the water elemental help.

Just read the clerks comments. Ill create a strongbox and have the elemental a Rush it down river. We'll have to do this under the cover of dark and in secrecy.

I *might* know someone capable of hauling a sizeable strongbox of coins quicker and safer (well, higher HD :P) then the elemental simulacrium - but it'll require some sort of drop off scheme ...

I could make a big basket with a handle for the Air elemental to carry. Having a dragon nearby to fend off anything that might threaten it would be greatly appreciated even if said dragon doesn't want to carry the basket itself. I'll need to do some math to make sure the weight limits are there.

I mean worst case scenario i'll make some barge like contraption, but I feel that would be less secure than a flyover. After all, there are far fewer threats that can fly without magic than are on the ground.
I don't know exactly where it is, but a reliable source on the threads said that 50=1 lb. Even if that's not entirely correct I have too much time and it's a reasonable place to start.
50 GP = 1 lb.
56K / 50 = 1120 lbs
Elder Air elemental has a Str of 28 and 100' perfect fly speed. It's also Huge which adds X4 to it's carrying capacity. I'm also going to assume "bipedal" though it may or may not actually have legs.
Light load = <400 lbs X4 Size = 1600 lbs
That being said all the gold is well under our elementals carrying capacity based on it's size.
Even if my calculations are off somewhere it's safe to assume that the elemental is going to be able to carry damn near anything we may want for it to.

Given the calculations I just figured out I think a big basket with a handle would be the way to go. Imagine a Hot Air Balloon minus the balloon plus add a lid and a crossbar.
Elemental picks it up by the crossbar and carries it. Sparel, or whomever, can accompany the payment.
Sound reasonable?

I'm going to arrange payment to be air lifted in by the elemental. Half up front and half upon delivery.
I'll be dealing with any of the typical bureaucracy as I must. Also, unless there's reason to I won't be spending time in the city if I can avoid it. My goal is to push this process along as quickly as possible.
For logistic reasons once the cannons are picked up we'll probably have to land the ship long enough to get them onboard and install them.
If possible I'd like to push the story along a bit so that others have things they can do/pursue. Unless there's some plot reason for it I think we can skip all but the high points of the cannon transaction.
