Inside the Elemental Lord's Palace, though, will be worse. If you were wondering for a bit more precision on the numbers.Right. Planar adaptation is a must. My concern was that the place we're going to is Hotter than the rest of the plane. I was worried that planar adaptation wouldn't be enough.
Or am I overthinking this?
I dunno.
Are you? :)

Ug. I'll prep for the worst and hope for the best. We'll find out.
Edit: Actually, Before going to bed I can do some divination. :-)

Welcome =) !
... I like that item that you gave x100 copies of a certain item ^^ ...
Why thank you! I was going through the list of alchemy items and herbs and thinking of what might be useful. Due to being so cheap, and of negligible weight, it seemed like a handy thing to stock up on :P

I'm just going to pre-roll my Diplomacy (for gathering information) and Know (local) to pick up rumours to make it easer later on :)
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Know(local): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
If this goes poorly, Lu can always resort to Intimidate. Somehow that got a few more ranks ... ^^
(I think we left our skills back home in Belor :P)

I'm chatting with the player about how to introduce their character right now. There are a few ideas floating around. I wanted to do something interesting and cool but it's possible that could take a back seat to "making sense".
Pff. Demigods and archdemons, planar travel and and a snake-lady with infinite fireballs. Since when did we have to make sense?

Just wait until I get polymorph any object.
*Wrings hands deviously*

Oh, Sparel, when you re-roll can you only roll history, religion and planes? The rest are less than useful for this particular inquiry.
I wasn't sure, so I err'd on the side of caution.
Sparel Radtymah
Of course. I'd usually prefer you roll more than roll less, or say more than say less, so I can take what you did that's useful rather than having to ask you to do something extra.
Just lettin' you know since I had the opportunity.
Fair enough. I usually do something I call the knowledge gauntlet, which I should probably set up for Sparel.
Basically I set up the rolling formula for all the knowledge skills so all I have to do is copy and paste. Then the DM doesn't have to tell me which knowledge to roll. I just roll them all and he picks the one(s) he needs.
Sparel Radtymah
I went ahead and set it up for Sparel.
it'll look like this in gameplay
The below is only a test and not intended to represent any actual dice rolling. This is only a test.
Please add +10 if the mask of 1000 tomes is in use
Knowledge (arcana) 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (12) + 22 = 34
Knowledge (dungeoneering) 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
Knowledge (engineering) 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
Knowledge (geography) 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
Knowledge (history) 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
Knowledge (local) 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
Knowledge (nature) 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
Knowledge (nobility) 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
Knowledge (planes) 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (5) + 20 = 25
Knowledge (religion) 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21

I don't know how long everyone needs to rest, though. I remember Lu was saying that she wanted to leave a few hours before you were done.
It also takes more than an hour and a half just to make your knowledge checks, during which time Lu and Praetorius can go out and explore.

Fair enough. They can do their thing then let me know when they're done information gathering.

The mask doesn't work like I thought it did, huh. You just need to wear it for 10 minutes and then it grants its bonus. Cool!
I need to spend some time brainstorming on how to respond, now.
I'm playing it like a virtual reality reference library.
leinathan
Spell-like abilities have no components, and so cannot be easily detected. Once their effects are observed, however, they can still be spellcrafted.
Belor is, historically a very discreet person. Praetorius is really very not discreet. His entrance to the campaign was flying out of a stormy sky, flaming sword in one hand and a lightning bolt shooting out of the other, screaming "PRAETORIUS HAS ARRIVED".

I'm 99% ready for Keiko's introduction but it requires a little bit of playing-along from the PCs. It's gonna be a little bit obvious, I hope that's okay.
I'm a little exhausted from the weekend, though, so the next post might be waiting until tomorrow afternoon.
leinathan
I'm not done yet and there's a lot of people that haven't been responding. Mostly, I want to say no, not much else learned. Except for where the Palace is. You know where it is now. Do you have any actual specific questions? That's how I prefer Knowledge to be used.
Also, how're you gonna find 'em?

The only specific questions I can think of are about the nature of the relationship between the fire queen and the Ruler of the City of Brass. History maybe.
Also, how're you gonna find 'em?
I'll jump off that bridge when I get to it. I'm sure I'll think of something.

Yes, it seemed like the thing that would amuse Lu. And that we might miss some plot otherwise ^^
I get some more of Tris thoughts up, but otherwise I'm kinda waiting for Beaufort to see if he have any comments on the city. The plan afterwards I guess is to check out the deal with the sunken ship (plague ship? might not wanna hang around then. Or it could get us some cheap desperate crew that wants to leave. And some more work for Spa^^) and wait for nightfall to brief/include Belor : )

And so begins the War of Visibility.
Keiko:
Visibility hinderers: Vanishing Move, Obscuring Mist
Visibility helpers: Darkvision, Arcane Sight, Scent
Giant:
Visibility hinderers: None that I know of?
Visibility helpers: If he can finish his ritual, See Invisibility
Stalkers:
Visibility hinderers: Deeper Darkness, Fog Cloud
Visibility helpers: See in Darkness
Dragon (Assuming Mature Cave Dragon):
Visibility hinderers: Darkness Aura, Deeper Darkness
Visibility helpers: Blindsight
Based on this alone, the logical course of events is:
1. Giant dies due to having no clue what's going on, unable to finish ritual
2. I fight stalkers, using Scent and/or Arcane Sight to try to pinpoint them long enough to shoot a flurry of misses, them using the opportunity to attack in turn with equal success due to my invisibility.
3. Dragon eats us all
Trisiphione
Right on schedule! *Cough* :P
Feel free to respond to the 'meeting' post once you gathered intell Belor/Beaufort. After that I suggest we find a nice n cosy place and wait for nightfall : )
