Ikkis gazes in fury as the small fey comes out of hiding and stabs Arthrax's haunch.
"Now that is QUITE ENOUGH! KAN HÄNDERNA bränna så MIN!"
Ikkis removes one of his gloves with his shield hand, revealing... ashes. It's as though his skin is made of charcoaled wood. At his words, the breaks in the blackness glow as if flames were coming from within.
The Fae's rapier should be feeling mighty toasty in a moment... Ikkis casts Burning Disarm (DC 15 Reflex to drop rapier in time or takes 1d4 Fire Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1)

The fae grumbles as the blade of Arthrax's axe cuts him and curses in sylvan as his rapier burns him.
"You may have won this battle, but there are stronger foes ahead. turn back now while you still draw breath."

The fae disappears and flees into the cold.

Feinmeir waits a moment before looking to the others. "Let us continue but be wary the pixie might be right about something."

Wait, so the fey made the reflex save but elected to hang on anyway?
"DAMNIT! Why don't they leave us alone?! This is such..." Ikkis's words trail off as he puts his glove back on his charred hand. The usual pain seems to be somewhat dulled by the warmth still lingering on his skin.
"Sorry, I guess I lost my temper there. But if that thing shows up again... I swear I'll end it. All we're trying to do is save an innocent woman who was kidnapped by thieves. Why are all of these spirits against us for it!?"

Arthrax wears a smug smile as his axe bites into the creature, baring his teeth as the creature disappears yet again. Back to the matter at hand, he turns to Ikkis, having noted the man's hand. Not wanting to pry or make the young man any more uncomfortable, he says, "Nice spell, Ikkis."
"Any more surprises from any of you I should know about? Anybody turn into a bird, or rat, has lightning shoot out of their mouth? I'm cool with it, just would like to know ahead of time, alright?"
Mini-rant over, he picks up the cold iron mini-axe, banging it on the ground as Demona suggested until it returned to its proper size. He resets the regular axe, puts the cold iron one on his shoulder, and gets ready to move out once again.

Connor is oblivious to the fey fleeing, instead focused on ripping a bloody chunk of meat from the dead stag's throat. Satisfied growls escape around mouthfuls of blood and flesh as the young man gulps down his meal. He wipes the back of a hand across his bloody lips as he looks to the others before realization dawns on him. The beast sated, Connor's face starts to deflate into a normal human visage as his facial hair recedes and teeth go back to normal.
Blushing and embarrassed that his secret is out in the open, Connor rubs a handful of snow across his face and hands to rinse off the blood, "Nan always said the Brisbane clan has had a little too much of the wild in our blood. Sometimes it wants to be let out. Sorry if I scared anybody." The young man collects his axe and polearm again after cleaning and clears his throat, "I guess we'll be in for more than one patrol of fey guarding the bandits. Keep some torches and fire ready since they don't seem to like that much."

Demona Flint |

"Oh, if you only knew..." Demona says playfully to Arthrax before trailing off. She turns a slightly green pallor (or rather, slightly greener) as she watches Connor eating raw stag.

Arthrax could guess any surprises from the sorceress would involve fire. Or being blunt. So he shrugs, he had been through enough to where either of those things wouldn't bother him too badly. He cocks his head curiously as he watches her. She was turning a sickly green color. That was a new trick!

Connor looks at the others, "A little further and then we can take a break. The longer we take to retrieve the lady, the less likely we're going to find her alive."

"Thanks, Merisiel!" Arthrax sighs as his damaged flesh knits back together.
"I vote we press on. I agree with Connor." And the sooner they found the noblewoman, the sooner he could get the fiery sorceress back to her mother.

"Well, we've certainly come far enough that that's not an option..." Ikkis says, referencing the sign.
Unless anything happens, he continues to advance with the rest of the group.

Connor's spits in the direciton of the talking snowman, "More fey tricks. They are hiding out there somewhere." He joins Arthrax in looking around for signs of the slippery little bastards.

Feinmeir stands in the back wary of the talking snowman, he sheates his sword and draws a throwing axe ready to throw if it speaks again.

Seeing the strain on Merisiel's face, Ikkis also concentrates on identifying the things, hoping that by some stroke of luck he may be of use:

Alas, his lack of understanding in matters magical hinders his efforts. The auras remain as inscrutable as before.

Deciding to continue on your way, you approach closer to the snowman and the frozen creek behind it. As you do, the snowman seems to errupt in a violent sound explosion.

the trap triggers when you get within 5 feet of the snowman. Assuming you guys are in the typical marching formation, that means only Demona and Arthrax don't get hit. I'm going to forgo the fort save since the extra effect only lasts 1 round.

His ears still ringing from the exploding snowman, Connor focuses on the pair of ice men erupting forth from the frozen stream. With a roar that sounds muffled to him, the young man charges after Arthrax. He sweeps his polearm out at creature's icy side.

yeah, forgot to mention that. DC 10 Acrobatics are required to charge on the ice and ice counts as difficult terrain.
Arthrax and Connor both cut deep into the ice monsters. They both look at their opponents and go to attack.

damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 + 1d3 ⇒ 3 cold damage
When the second ice monster move's, Demona is ready with a gout of flame.
Red's Relfex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 so close
As the flames die down all that's left of the monster is a puddle of water.
edit: ok, in the preview it said he had rolled a 13 and that's what I"ll stick with. Dunno why it changed.
