Did Hayashi sense any disturbance in the For--I mean Ki? Like signature Chakra?

Added to the above question--so according to Hayashi's intelligence, She of the Jasmine Mists is a human woman, then.

But knowing what I do about eastern myths, I suspect you might have made her a demon or incorporeal undead.

Maybe we should wait for the rest before continuing, DM. I feel we're moving too fast for the rest.

ok.

no probs! i thought we were going too slow.

You've a very active DM, though. :D

By the way, did you check out Unchained?

Is that the jet li movie a while back?

Pathfinder Unchained. It's a kind of "Unearthed Arcana" for Pathfinder, with alternate rules for things like Rogues, Summoners, and Barbarians, as well as some other alternate rule systems. It's all optional, but the hope is that the Rogue rewrite will bring some life back to the class.

Oh, no.. i haven't seen it yet. is it on the srd?

Unchained? Apparently not yet. Guesses are that they'll be around next month.

When i get a chance to read it, i'll probably say yes, but not until then.

It's Paizo's kinkiest release yet. :)

I have a parent travel meeting tomorrow from 5 to ? So, I probably wont' be advancing anything until Friday night. Sorry, but Boss told me today that the meeting is tomorrow.

No problem, boss.
On the bright side, I guess everyone is on board continuing with the story now.

Male Human Summoner 4

I didn't respond to the cleansing ceremony because I felt I was too late, but I want you to know that I liked it a lot. It was very well-done.

you can respond. I'm still gonna only move things along tomorrow. So you can do a quick insert/reflection if you want.

But, thanks! It's easy to write like that when the players are putting out good material, too. :-P

Would Hayashi or Tsui Dawei be alright with small sparing sessions whilst we travel?

That would be a nice way to develop both their characters. I accept.

Dawei is up for that.

Of course anyone else who wants to spar is welcome to I just didn't think the more caster focused characters would be up for physical combat and would gracefully decline such activities. I just thought it'd be an interesting way to get to know each other while traveling.

Catching up now. This weekend was very busy.

Question: how is Google Drawing working for you? Another game I'm in uses Roll20, which is a lot prettier what with the bells and whistles and all. But, it requires an account.

If i use Roll20, I'd give you editing rights to your character so you can move them on the map. I'd have to do retcons for traps and stuff, but y'know that's how I have to do things now.

If i stay with GoogleDraw, life stays status quo, and you get the ugly maps that only I can edit, BUT no need for accounts, and probably much easier to access from places. Your call.

Bloodrager (HP 40/40 AC 17, T 13, Flat 14 F+6R+4 W+1 Init +3 Per +7

We actually can't use roll20....our computer is dead and literally all our posts come from phones and tablets.

T_T I will sing Yoko Ono's sad song for you!

But!! There we go googleDraw it is!!

@Roll20: It's a potentially nice idea with the sprites, but PbP's post-and-forget pattern is generally easier and more accessible.

@Rivers: The map can be downloaded and edited in image processing software and then upload the new map.

Generally, the map is not that bad--especially since its low-res-ness can't be really solved unless we get map editing software (or if Paizo releases a sharper Tian Xia map, of course).

True... eh, we'll stay with GoogleDraw anyway. Jian Xi and Jade Moon's issues clinch that deal.

I'm working on making prettier maps. If it works, i'll be able to do it for the Shenmen maps, too. It worked fairly well with the map i made for my Jade Regent PbeM today, so we'll see if I can't fiddle with it this weekend

Once you guys have a plane set up, tell me, and we'll move forward

Male Human Summoner 4

Go to the farmstead, then Laozu, then track the bandit leader.

Male Human Wizard 1 | AC 13, touch 12, flat-footed 11 | Fort +2, Ref +4, Will +2 | HP 10/10 | Init +2 | Perception +4 | Bardic Performance 6/6 | Splintered Spear 7/7 |

I don't think we'll have time for all that. They said it was a three-day ride to the farmstead, and I think they said it was in the opposite direction from Laozu. Realistically, I think we'll only have time for the first before the attack.

We could split up. Hayashi and Tsui could track down the bandit leader and mark his location on the map. The rest could check up on the couple.

Tracking requires the least people, and since it's raining, the trail might be hard enough to track. It depends on how fast the DM allows Hayashi (or he and Tsui) to travel on horseback whilst tracking.

Yeah...I suggest splitting up a lot, but we're on a front and have a lot of tasks to address quickly.

Either way, I think Laozu can wait until we deal with this bandit. I think he's the lowest priority of our three non-general exploration tasks.

Dawei is cool with that plan. He's probably a good pick for something that might end in pursuit, what with the archery.

Seeing as we have just gotten here I'm not sure how wise it is to split up the party until we have a better idea of the surrounding land.

Iconic scene, too, from the sound of it! Slap a conical hat on both and dress them in travel cloaks, and you've got the opening scene to Ninja Scroll. Image

Need the GM's green light, though. Maybe the travel time won't allow it. And besides--never split the party, right?

Edit: Ninja'd by Jian Xi

I intend for our foray to be purely scout-based. We could identify any landmarks and not engage in combat. If we could track the enemy to a place that looks like a base, it would be enough for our retreat.

Otherwise, it might be a nice coincidence if we happened to run into Laozu. He wanders in the area anyway.

Alright, so what's the decision? Tsuii Dawei and Hayashi go east to find the bandits

and the others go west to find the missing couple?

Although splitting up is not a hot idea, I'd say that's our plan.

It's going to be a good chance for us to explore the region and see the sights. We might meet new characters or get plot hooks instead of jumping from fight to fight.

sweet merciful Cthulhu.. that took a lot out of me to write!

gonna give everyone else a chance to post before i update. things are quite split and i don't want to have too many posts going on at the same time.

So, to try and determine what sort of haunting this is and how to placate it, would it be Knowledge (Arcana) or Knowledge (religion)? Cause I've only got one of those.

Use knowledge arcana, nature, or local. Spirits like haunts and ghosts fall under Yokai, which are part of the natural world, but they're also creatures of magic. He may also recall local legends about this particular haunting.

alright, so i have updated the map to make it much prettier. it's probably still far too cluttered. But, it's better than the butchered scanjob i had up earlier.

Mahalo to Hayashi for the work he put in to make the original map, and then giving me the sourcefile to futz with! Thanks!!!

Na'u ka hau'oli!

You can hide terrain/floor icons (hills/mountains) and make it clear by color instead--heavy green is a forest, heavy brown is a mountain, etc. It allows you to make rivers, cities, and markers clearer.

It's under GM Objects - Show/Hide features on the left of the screen.

Ahh!!! Will do!

Heehee! Yay! I will confess I had to think about why u wrote. I'm not quite at mahalo means trash, (a lot of visitors think mahalo means trash because it's written on all the trash bins) but I'm about a step above it :).

I read that 'Na'u ka hau'oli' means "the pleasure is all mine" and mahalo meant thanks. Did I commit a faux pas?

Nope, you're right. No faux pas. "Why you wrote' should be "what you wrote". I don't read hawaiian, i just hear it spoken. So i had to think for a moment.

I was more joking about how I've lived here for 12 years and i know next to no hawaiian words.

thank you, hello, 'take care of the land', responsibility, children, learned/honored elders, "locals", trash, and a few others are about the extent of what i know.
