"No... if someone is coming to meet them, they will come up behind us. At least one of us should wait here. Can the others see inside through a window or something?"
After being surprised by the sudden light Galyna studies the building intently. Seeing Shiv's signaling she moves towards the back doors, paying close attention.
There appears to be neither movement nor sound in the area or within the building, although the interior is almost impossible to see into thanks to the boards over doors and windows.

Shaking her head, Ellantera says, "I won't leave you out here alone. The rest can see if they can see through a crack, maybe, I'll stay here with you."
Growing impatient and getting the increasing feeling something is wrong, Shiv finally nods to Galyna and tries to ease the door open quietly a crack to peer inside.
There is a hallway ahead of you, lit by unseen lights from the room at the far end. The floor is dirty and slightly uneven, with debris and old trash suggesting lengthy abandonment. The room at the far end is open, lacking any furniture or decorations on the walls that you can see, but the tip of a bar built into the floor sticks out around the righthand corner ahead of you. There is no one in sight, however.
"I don't like waiting silently here. While they haven't done anything wrong that we know of yet, this place doesn't exactly belong to them. Let's move in quietly and be safe rather than sorry for Shiv and Galyna".

Indecision is clear on the girl's face. "Let's join them alongside, but I think someone should maintain a watch outside. We'll let this exposed position go and watch from the alley, all right?"
Proposing Erwin, Uraisa, Kassandra, and Oscar circle around to support the other two while Miet and Ellantera remain out in the alley.
You hear someone's voice say something, although it is indistinct, from the main room ahead of you on the right. You also hear what sounds like a glass bottle clinking on the floor from the main room, but somewhere toward the left.
At this point, since things are starting to move, I'd appreciate it if we could start tracking rounds' worth of actions. So if you plan to move, take your move actions based on your speed; if you want to ready weapons or cast spells, feel free to do so, but take that into account when you move as well. We're not in initiative yet, but I'd like to start structuring things as though we were.

Round 1
Ellantera delays (if necessary) to follow the others across the street. She will wait until they are in the alley, check to see if any one is watching, and double move to the square north of Miet.
As you crouch back into the shadows, you are struck by the sudden sense of a presence somewhere in the area - and with a newfound intensity, you look all around for your some sign of what you've noticed. That's when you see them: not one but two sets of footprints, appearing even as you watch on the dusty floor of the tavern hallway.
I've marked the location of the two footprint-sets with "?"s on the battle map.
Okay, there's going to be a surprise round. Shiv is the only one who gets to act in it, however; the rest of you can go ahead and roll your initiatives if you like, though. I definitely need an initiative from Shiv, of course.

Ellantera crouches down, trying to hide behind the illusory barrel that is Miet - or she hopes she's behind the right barrel, anyway. She doesn't speak to the gnome for fear she will ruin her spell somehow.
Suddenly, about halfway down the passage, a woman appears in the hallway: a pale elven woman with slightly scaled skin with a longsword slung across her back. She grins, "Got ya!" and murmurs an arcane phrase as she hurls something toward Shiv. (She does not seem to have noticed Galyna.) The missile is greyish and about the size of her fist. It slams into Shiv's jacket, exploding into threads that try to wrap around him. I need a DC 13 Reflex save from Shiv; if you fail, you're grappled as if by aweb spell. You can then take your action.
Reflex save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 Spinning out of the tendrils as they try to encapsulate him Shiv nimbly darts forward while drawing his blade, "Hardly, I've had more 'en one net cast at me in the fights luv." Unfortunately, the blade itself was somewhat stuck to its sheath by the spell the woman cast and he fumbles with it instead of striking.
Oscar and Kassandra hear shouting of some kind coming from around the corner, where the deck over the water is, and what sounds like running feet inside the building.
Surprise round done. If you haven't already rolled your initiative, please do so - anyone who has something higher than a 15 can take an action (although most of you still don't know what's going on).
Oscar is at the side door toward the back of the building, but actually reaching the back door where Galyna and Shiv are will involve going swimming. Is that part of Oscar's plan?
Female Human Bloodrager (spelleater) Normal: AC 15/11/14, hp 11/13 AC 13/11/12, hp 15/17, rage 4/8
I think Erwin and Uraisa were going to accompany Oscar and Kassandra as they moved down the alley. That's not reflected in the map yet - is that because they haven't had enough rounds to move that far?
It is mostly because of that, yes; the other issue is that Oscar and Kassandra started out at that end of the alley, so they haven't really moved yet (since there's not really anywhere down there to go).
The elf woman takes a step back from Shiv and his blade, snarling another arcane incantation as she does. Another murky grey ball hurls toward the rogue, its sticky tendrils reaching out to try to grasp him. She takes a 5 ft step to K8, then casts the same spell again - I need another DC 13 Reflex save.
Galyna, hoping to take advantage of her unseen position, fires her crossbow at the woman. Heavy crossbow shot: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21, damage 1d10 ⇒ 8. The bolt sinks home, and the elf shouts in pain. Tossing the crossbow aside, Galyna pulls her blade as she moves closer heading toward L7, but as she does, another figure materializes out of the shadows right in her path. This is a shorter human man, older and somewhat bedraggled, wearing stained and frayed finery that no longer really deserves the term. He too speaks an arcane phrase, and a blast of colored lights bursts from his fingertips, swallowing the hallway in a barrage of mind-blasting hues. And now I need a DC 14 Will save from Shiv as well. Failure means you are unconscious for 2d4 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5 rounds, blinded and stunned for 1d4 ⇒ 2 rounds after that, and then stunned for 1 round after that.
Galyna's Will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21. The ranger shakes off the magic, and finishes her move (ending in L6 now).
Outside, the rest of you see a burst of light reflected on the water of the bay, as though someone had just set off an entire fireworks display inside the building, but without any sound. Through the door, Oscar hears a woman shout in pain - but it is not Galyna's voice.
Spellcraft or Knowledge (arcana), DC 16:
That looks very much like a casting of color spray.
The rogue curses loudly as the second grey glob strikes home and tangles around him. Fortunately he glances angrily at the goo before the wash of color from the second spellcaster hits, saving him from taking an enchanted nap.
Escape Artist: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Swiping his blade through the goo he quickly frees himself enough to advance on the woman again. Spitting a big black glob of chew juice at her feet he says, "Jus delayin' the inevitable luv. Surrender and it'll go easier on ya."

Round 2
Spellcraft 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Uraisa keeps moving to where she told the others that she would meet them. Despite that, she recognized magic, and rushed to where the spell originated, trying to see what was happening.
