Male Human Druid/Sorceror 1

I figured the Fort save was a failure, which is why I ended the post with the weapon breaking.

On the fourth day, Reginald once again focuses on creating his new spell. He realizes that in order to get this to work, he needs to design the weapon with more fortification around the joint between handle and head, without adding too much and making the weapon unwieldy.

Fortitude save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

I'll assume this is success in typing this next segment; just tell me if it isn't and I'll retcon.

Reginald finally gets it right later in the evening by creating a star-shaped joint and hardening the whole area by focusing on it. He swings it one-handed twice, but quickly decides it's much too heavy for him to wield one-handed. Instead, he grips in two hands as he uses it to spar with Gene until dusk. He's well worn out again, but proud of his accomplishment. Of course, now he needs to train in using the weapon properly.

I'll post the spell in the OOC, and you can poke and tweak it until you're satisfied.

Male Human Gestalt Expert/Sorceror/Magus 1

Ok trying to figure out how to do all this lol now I know arastil gave trent a feat earlier on figured id just take mobility cause couldnt think of any other at the time. Anyways....ug so much to think on lol ill get it eventually

Male Human Druid/Sorceror 1

Eh, you shouldn't think too hard on it. What does your character think will be important in a fight?

The fifth day Reginald dedicates entirely to training with the weapon he can now create. He spars with Gene and another relf, being extra cautious not to hurt them even though they are far better warriors. After creating it a few times, Reginald has the process speeded up, so it is narrowed from a full minute to only around 10 seconds. Once he is unable to use his new weapon (which won't take long, with only a few casts of a minute-long spell) he trains with normal heavy maces. He uses both hands still, and his swings start out clumsy, but by the end of the day his strikes are more sure. His arms feel like jelly by sundown, and he decides he'll have to rest them tomorrow. During dinner, he chats with the other sorcerers, knowing that he's been spending a lot of time with Gene and sort of neglecting keeping up with them. He tries to keep his conversation light and joking, even though his thoughts are mostly on the terrible truths of war which he'll soon witness firsthand.

DAY 1
Waking up early the next day, rested from her trials of the day before, Ashley approaches her Relvish friends, Rehaya and Xia, right away and asks them "I know that I am supposed to me a Sorcerer, and I am, but I also know that I will not always be able to depend on my magic alone. From my training back at my school and some time spent with Leorn I have learned some of the basics of using a rapier. But I do not quite yet see myself leaping into battle as you ladies do. So I ask you first you can teach me to master the bow and arrow instead. I have taken a few classes at school, but nothing that would serve me in combat."

Xia scoffs and claims she has better things to do than teach someone to fight from afar but Reyha, with her more civilized background, understands and agrees to help. For all of that day, Reyha drills Ashley on the proper use of using a bow and arrow, not just for hitting a target, but to kill an enemy as quickly as possible. By the end of the day, hardly able to move her arms and her fingers and wrists rubbed raw, she staggers back to her tent. But she had learned to use a bow with deadly intent!

Weary as she is though, the fire sorceress does not allow herself to sleep yet and opens the Book of The Dead for further study. However, after two hours her cannot keep her eyes open any more and drops into a deep, restful sleep.
Gains Weapon Proficiency: Bow

Female Human Sorcerer/1 & Oracle/1 (gestalt)

DAY 2

The next day, still wishing to improve her skills with the bow, Ashley again works with Reyha on becoming an even better archer. One of the first things Reyha says to her is "Fighting with a bow is fine and true, will allow you to attack your enemies from afar, which can often be advantageous. But, unless you wish to leave yourself alone and unprotected, most of the time you will still be near the action and so it will benefit you even more to learn how to use your bow from close up."

And so the pair moves much closer to the targets now, working on vastly improving accuracy to better get that deadly shot. Another benefit of learning how to use the bow from close up is that the arrow sinks even deeper into it's target, damaging even more.

Once again incredibly sore and tired, but still happy with her progress, Ashley heads straight to her tent. Also once again, she manages to get in another two hours of reading before needing to put down the book and go to sleep.
Gains Feat: Point Blank Shot

Female Human Sorcerer/1 & Oracle/1 (gestalt)

DAY 3 & 4:

On the third day, still determined to master the bow, despite how tired and sore she is, Ashley once more approaches Reyha and asks her "Reyha, I am so grateful for all you have taught me so far. But it occurs to me, what if my friends and allies are in combat with our enemies and I attempt to use my bow, won't I be at risk of hitting my friends as well?"

The barbaric Revle smiles widely, proud of her student "You learn quickly and well Ashley! That is an excellent question. Indeed there is that risk, which is why you must train your hand and eye to be quick, and perceive the movements of friend and foe alike ahead of time and anticipate not where your enemies are, but where they will be by the time your arrow reaches them."

To train her in these things, Reyha's first step is to set up a series of moving targets. These are similar to traditional targets but are much smaller and additionally are set up to hang from tree limbs by a rope. Reyha then pushes the targets, setting them to swinging wildly back and forth. At first Ashley is hopeless at hitting the moving targets and several of the watching Relves and Dwarves laugh and scoff at her. By the end of the day, she is hardly better and feeling down and disappointed in herself, drags herself back to her tent.

Still though, the day is not a complete loss as after two more hours of reading, she comes to significant new level of understanding. She now finds that, by concentrating, she can actually sense the subtle emanations of the undead. At the moment, all she can detect are the subtle energies given off by the spirits which are constantly around her. She knows though, that should she ever come across the real 'undead', that the emanations will be different and much stronger.
Gains Feat: .5 of Precise Shot
Gains SU ability: Detect Undead (Shano-is she able to use this at will then? Or how often?)

DAY 4:

The next day, feeling like both her arms are broken, at first Ashley feels she will never pick up a bow again. But Leorn sees her condition and comes over and gives her arms an shoulders and excellent massage. The treatment, along with a few words of encouragement, help give her the strength to carry on.

When she gets to the training area set up from the day before, already a group of Relves and Dwarves are waiting to taunt her some more. Gritting her teeth and doing her best to ignore the taunts, she focuses even harder and determines that she will hit her targets. Eventually, the taunts slowly die down as her skill improves rapidly. Finally, near the end of the day Reyha stops her and says "Ok, you have improved considerably Ashley. In fact it is truly remarkable how quickly you have improved. I can only account it to the burning desire to succeed your elemental blood gives you. However, hitting a moving target is one thing, the true test will be to hit an enemy in combat. To prove this, I have set up a special test for you."

Having arranged things before, Reyha approaches a small group of Relves and Dwarves she had spoken to and asked to help in this final test. Turning back to Ashley she explains "Ok, we will stage here a small mock combat, Relves vs the Dwarves. I will call out specific targets to you and you will try to hit them and only them. Do not worry, we are not so foolish as to use real arrows for this excercise. So here, take these, these are practice arrows. As you can see, there are no arrowheads on them and the smooth, blunt ends will ensure they do not even pierce the skin. Yes they may still hurt, and some of the soft Dwarves may cry out in pain, but you shall hear no such weakling cries from the Relves, this I promise you."

Some of the Dwaves curse and yell in protest at Reyha's last remarks and most of the Relves laugh loud and delightedly, but the smile on Reyha's face shows she is (almost surely) only jesting so nothing serious comes of it. Still though, both Dunnely and Ashal come over to supervise the mock combat and make sure no one gets out of control and forgets that they are all allies here.

Once Ashley acknowledges she is ready, Reyha yells out "Begin!" and the Relves and Dwarves leap at each other with their wooden weapons. To Ashley's ears and eyes, the fake combat is still shockingly loud and fierce and for a moment she takes a step back and lowers her bow, slightly stunned by the savagery and realism of the whole thing. Even watching movies like 'Braveheart', or even her experiences here in this world, still did nothing to prepare her for what it was like to see a group of warriors attacking each other. A sharp yell from Reyha though brings out of her stunned musings

"Warrior! Do you wish to die! You are in battle! Fight or die! There, that Dwarf with the red beard, hit him! And there, there the Relve with one eye, he is your next target! And there, the taller Dwarf, strike him next!" she calls out the targets one after another, not giving Ashley any time to hesitate let alone think. For her part, the redhead does her best to comply.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Attack 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Attack 3: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Amazingly, every single one of her arrows finds their mark and, smiling hugely, Reyha calls out for the combatants to stop. Everyone runs to Ashley and gathers around her, smiling warmly and congratulating her. Strangest of all to her though, the three she had hit seem the happiest and proudest out of everyone as they proudly showing off the bruises from the marks of her arrow strikes. Shaking her head, but smiling all the same, the cheerleader wonders if she will ever fully understand these people from another world.

That night, her tiredness seems almost a reward, and more proud of herself than she had been in some time, her two hours of reading before she falls asleep almost seem to fly by.
Gains Feat: Precise Shot
Read book: Level 3 +2 hrs= 26hours total

DAY 5:

Waking up with her arms locked straight like a ombie, Ashley knows that if she didn't give her arms a break they would fall off. Approaching Leorn again for a quick massage, his ministrations allow her to at least flex her elbows again. But still, this day she instead intends to work solely on her magic instead.

Having seen some of the impressive things Reggy was doing the beautiful redhead approaches and, while a big, genuine smile says "Reggy, it's amaing what you have done! Can you teach me a little bit about how you've manipulated your element in that way, to make a weapon from it?"

(assuming he agrees) Ashley pays close attention and after her little lesson, spends the rest of the day trying to fashion a bow for herself made entirely out of flame. However she has difficulty grasping the concept, trying to make a bow of fire that bends and moves and uses the same forces of physics that a real bow does. And every time she tries to draw it if falls apart into tiny balls of flame. Plus the effort leaves her fairly tired. Discouraged but determined, she promises herself to do better the next day. That night, her mind is simply too exhausted to read or study anymore and she straight away falls into a deep, deep sleep.

Fort Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Shano, you did say that when learning spells we can't do anything else, right? Or am I wrong and she still could have got another couple of hours reading in? Plus, I don't think you ever mentioned exactly what the DCs are or how they are determined (so we can figure them our for ourselves when we need to

DAY 6:

The next day once again Ashley devotes herself to learning her new spell. This time, she also tries to consult her spirit guide to give her any extra knowledge on how to shape the spell correctly. Although her guide does not seem to have any information to share with her, she does manage to recall a few of her Pathfinder science classes, and finally realizes how to shape the bow properly to utilize the forces it needs to. By the end, she is able to form, shape and fire a bow and arrow made entirely out of fire.

You also didn't mention by how much the DC'sare less the succeeding days? I assume these are success' though?
Fort Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 ⇒ 7
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

DAY 7 (part 1)

The next day, the last day before all the fighting is to begin, all the thoughts of war and death suddenly catch up to Ashley, and she spends the first couple hours of the day moping around the lizard village. Suddenly though, an idea strikes she and she seeks out Salevok. Approaching the big lizard when he has a spare moment she asks "I wonder if you can help me with something. All these thoughts of war and defeating our foes have made me realize that my friends and allies can easily be injured as well. I want to learn how to do something with my powers other than harm. Do you know if there's any way I can learn to heal as well? Perhaps with my fire, as I know that flame can be used to cauterize woulds and warmth can be healing. Or perhaps the my ancestor spirit might now of some way to heal the wounds of others? Can you help me with this in any way?"

I'm proposing something like 'Healing Warmth' or some such which would basically work the same as CLW. Possible?

Male Human Gestalt Expert/Sorceror/Magus 1

Give me till tomorrow guys kinda feeling sick and really busy atm tomorrow ill have all seven days and stuff thought out hopefully ill roll well since its mostly magic i have in mind

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Ashley:

I am having issues with your style of play and have a few questions.
Why would Xia a proud and well versed warrior not approve of bowmanship?
Why would the younger less warrior Reyha know it?
Why are the dwarves mocking the relves when they are too busy running drills and are technically on respectable terms with them.
Why the mock battle?
Most importantly, why are you role playing my characters?

I will not post further until my questions are answered.

Male Human Gestalt Expert/Sorceror/Magus 1

Trent will spend part of each day attending the meetings with the leaders trying to remember everything his father said to him about strategy as well as every game he had played pertaining to the coordination of armies. Though he had done a lot of speaking earlier on with his speech Trent goes back to his quiet self speaking only when asked his opinion. A good leader must earn his position, listen and pay attention to others who are experienced His father had told him before he had given up on Trenton ever being a leader of men.

If only dad could see me now, ready to go out with forces never even considered in our world. He thinks to himself ruefully at one of the sessions.

Day One:

Trenton finds Arastil up in the tree top lodge and smiles watching her practice for a while before catching her eye and drawing his own sword and bows to her. "Care to have another training bout with me?" He chuckles and brings his sword to attention.

Feat Learned Combat Expertise

After the training session Trent pulls off his leather armor, the donning of the thing almost becoming second nature to him, followed by his sweat soaked shirt. He calls to his power and begins to pour water down over him using cupping his hands. Afterwards Trent sits down and listens to Arastil talk a bit about her complaints nodding at appropriate times before turning to her his face serious. "What do you know of a mountain that will stand between us and our destination. The shaman said something about a mountain that we would have to choose a path, to go around adding many days, to go over and meet the frost giants, ...or to go under where a danger waits for us. Do you have any knowledge of this place?"

Day Two:

After the strategy session Trenton heads back to Arastil's tree lodge before finding a quiet place to concentrate and begins to use the Elemental manipulation spell concentrating on using it.

Creativity check1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21Pause for Shano's spell :)

Fort Save1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Int check1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14 dunno if that fails will roll if you say so

Day Three:

Will work on Shano's spell
Int Check1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2just in case
Retry from day 2 Fort Save1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Day Four:

Assuming I pass the first spell.
Fort Save1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Int Check1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Ice Version of Shocking Grasp

Day Five:

Fort Save1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Well this roll is wasted assuming I pass DC of fort save on Day four
Int Check1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17this is retry int check for day four

Day Six:

Trenton now begins to train with his sword and magic at the same time flowing through the stances Arastil teaches him making the magic flow through him to his sword it becoming an extension of himself.
Fort Save1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Int Check1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

Assuming i Pass with those rolls? pweese ? haha

Ice sword
Taking a little off of Reggy, hey man its just a great spell you came up with ;) its a compliment as well as the magic weapon spell

Encases the weapon in a sheet of black ice giving it a +1 enhancement, this does not stack with masterwork weapon quality.

At 6th level gains frost quality

at 11th level replaces frost with icy burst.

Day 7:

Fort Save1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Int Check1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Glacial Shards taking a stab at creating own spell, based upon Wood Elementalist wizard archtype and Magic Missile

Let me know what you think Shano,

Level 1

Evocation Water(Ice)

Casting time 1 action

Range Medium

Target Single until later levels that can be no more than 15 ft apart

Duration instant

Save none

Resistance yes

Concentrating for a moment Trenton forms slivers of ice to dance about him growing larger in seconds until they resemble small spears of ice sparkling in the sunlight. With a gesture Trenton can shoot the shards out at his intended target(s) dealing 1d6+1 of damage per spear. Must beat foes AC. For every three levels after 1st gains another shard of ice , 2 at level 4, maximum 5 at level 13, that Trenton can aim at same target or multiple targets no more than 15 ft apart.

Male Human Druid/Sorceror 1

Trent, is that last spell a ranged touch attack or just a ranged attack? You said it needed to beat AC; does that mean it's a normal ranged attack? Just trying to help you get everything down here.

Male Human Gestalt Expert/Sorceror/Magus 1

Woops I meant it just to beat regular ac since i upped the magic missile dmg to 1d6 instead of 1d4 made sense to me thinking a spear of ice would punch through armor instead of just a touch attack though is it better to keep it every 3 levels or hope shano is nice and lets me make it every 2? ty again reg

Male Human Druid/Sorceror 1

No problem, and your spell's lookin' cool.

Male Human Gestalt Expert/Sorceror/Magus 1

kinda depends on if i get to pass the dcs lol

Shano:

O-O....Whoa dude.

Ah, ok. That took me by surprise. But ok, I'll try to address all of that. Here goes:

-Re Xia, dunno, just seemed to me that she appeared to be a super tough 'up close and personal' type. But I have no problem whether she approves of bows or not.

-I am assuming that all of the Relves would know how to use a bow. First of all, they're 'elves', and second of all the're barbarians, and the class definitely has bows in their proficiency. Just that maybe some of them would prefer them more than others, just like any group of warriors. Ashley just gets along better with Reyha, as they have more in common, so I had her be the teacher. But I have no problem whether she is the teacher or not.

-The Dwarves were not mocking the Relves. Both the Dwarves and Relves were mocking Ashley. And if fact they were all getting along and working together for a little bit to help in Ashley's training. You may need to read that part again. And I did not say All of the Dwarves or Relves. I realize they're busy training all day, but the incident I described would have taken only a few minutes and I assume even the dwarves get breaks to eat and take a piss and stuff so a couple of them could have spent 5 minutes out of their day doing this. But I have no problem whether they join in on her training or not.

-The mock battle was so that Ashley could prove she had learned to be able to shoot into a melee without hitting her allies (thus getting the precise shot feat and losing the -4 to hit). How else would she ever learn/prove she could do this? But I have no problem whether she trains that way or not.

-I was only role-playing some very minor bits for the NPC's because in every other game I've ever been in, no DM has ever had a problem with the Players using NPC in minor ways that are just for fluff. Nothing I wrote changed or affected the NPCs in any kind of way. Even throughout this game, all of us players have mentioned NPCs and their actions in minor ways, but for some reason this is the first time it's become a problem. But I have no problem whether or not I get to describe NPC actions in any way, shape or form.

As you can probably tell the pattern by now, I have no problem with anything in this game. I do though have a bit of a problem with how you freaked out about all of this nothing. I realize that this is your game and that except for our PCs, everything in it is your creation. I certainly in no way, shape or form intended any kind of insult or whatever to you by my innocently describing what in reality is just some very minor RP fluff, as absolutely none of it effects the characters, the story or the game in any way at all. To be honest, I am completely clueless as to why you seem to have had such a big problem and major reaction to it all. But again, hey, this is your game. And while I have enjoyed it, if you don't want me in it, that's your call. And if you are "having issues my style of play", as you say, then maybe that's the best decision? Again, I have no problem either way.

So, I answered your questions as to why I wrote what I wrote. I apologized if any of it for some reason offended you. Guess the rest is up to you.

Cheers.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Ashley:

I am sorry for that out burst. It was the end of a very long day and honestly I wasn't really upset at your post. When people put words in my character's mouths, it is really nothing more than a minor nuisance. It did not merit my immature response. I apologize.

Also, after reading your post again I have decided I will allow you to continue to roleplay as you do. Now just note I will offer some amendments to your posts in the future. When I do, make sure you incorporate those amendments if future posts.

The only inaccuracies are that Xia does approve of ranged combat.
Reyha actually doesn't know how to use a bow, she was never trained with it.
We can have the mock battle but it will include EVERYONE, players and all NPC factions. It will take place on the seventh day and we will be playing that out.
Final amendment. No one is going to make fun of your training, unless it's Dunnely, he's the only one who would. The other relves would respect your desire for combative improvement and offer encouragement and on occasion some pointers.

Those are the amendments.

Also I cannot tell you what the DCs for your spells are. They aren't determined until the idea of the spell is completely worked out. A lot of it is my own discresion as I try and compare the spells to existing spells. Then I set the DC. I am still going over your current spell of choice to determine weather or not your made the spell on your second attempt.

Now that is all I can put up for you at the moment. I am still working hard to meld the magic system of Pathfinder with my original spell system I usually run this game with. Really it is much more complicated or so I have been told.

Again I apologize for chewing you out the way I did. It was really not merited. Again feel free to continue to do as you have just understand I will ask for changes where necessary. Okay?

Trent:

What I need to know, is two things.
First: Your day six roll has the highest chance of success. Are you going to practice the first spell you "creatively" thought of or one of the others you mentioned later? This will determine if that roll succeeds or not.
Second: REALLY good roll for the creativity part and will merit a good spell. So which of these four concepts are you most interested in. Offense, Defense, Buff, Affliction, or Environmental. Pick one and I will have a good spell for you.

Female Human Sorcerer/1 & Oracle/1 (gestalt)

Spoiler:

Competely accepted bro and completely ok.

I totally understand, we all have days like that.

I also have no problem whatsoever with all of your amendments.

The only thing with not knowing the DCs ahead of time is that it then makes it very difficult for us to plan and RP our training days, especially when we're doing multiple days like this. Would all same level spells have the same DCs?

Anyway, I'm sure we'll work it all out. You system is unique but it's also pretty cool.

Thanks for you honesty and apology.

Now back to the fun!

Still waiting on Terry for the most part.

Also, I think from now on we do jumps like this one day at a time. There is no hurry to push through the plot too quickly. It's just that the intro to this campaign takes awhile. But once the intro is done then the story is more in your hands and is not as railroaded.

Male Human Gestalt Expert/Sorceror/Magus 1

Shano:

1.Kinda confused on the wording are we saying only day I will succeed on is day six? So im having to decide between Ice sword, Icy Grasp, your spell, and Ice shards? Cause now we are not able to train on day 7 cause of ashleys mock battle? If so umm let me think.... I think I will go with your creative spell taking a stab in the dark.

2. I have in mind Trent is going to more Offensive in mind with his spells while water can be fluid and calm it can be turned into a force that grinds the face of the earth down (glaciers) so waiting with baited breath lol

***INACTIVE***

Day 1: Terry already made the INT check for fist of wind, so AIUI he only needs to make the Fort save.

Fort save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

Let me know if that does it. While walking around to see what everyone else is up to after he's done working on the spell, something clicks. Reggie's got the right idea...working on spells puts a strain on your bod, so working cardio is mucho important.

Day 2 & 3: If any of the relves are available to help, he'll approach them and ask for some instruction in being harder to hit in a fight.

Training in Dodge; 2 days.

Day 4: As Reggie did earlier, Terry will work out near the dwarves, performing an exhaustive series of gymnastics moves until he's too worn out to do that safely, then moving on to calisthenics and wind sprints. This would have wiped me out before all that marching....

Training in Great Fortitude; 1 day.

I'll stop here for feedback from the GM.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Okay I want to apologize for the jumping. It has produced nothing but confusion and it is my fault.

Now as an apology, each of you will have acquired your spells

Terry you have your Fist of the wind.
Ashley you have your Flare arrow. I will post it's specs tomorrow
Reggy you have your stone mace spell

Trent you have thought up a water spell. Water gun. I will have the specs up tomorrow. It is important to note in this campaign Ice is an advance technique and will be very difficult to learn.

I will be posting the Mock battle tomorrow. We are going to play that part out so have your character mentally ready to experience their first combat battle.

I want to thank Ashley for the idea. Thank you Ash

Male Human Druid/Sorceror 1

No prob boss. I think the system you set up could work, with a little tweaking, as a cool way of organically creating new characters during play. I'll have to remember this in the future.

Male Human Gestalt Expert/Sorceror/Magus 1

Hey terry we already have dodge

***INACTIVE***

Do we? I'd missed that, thanks. In that case, Terry will jump directly to working on Great Fortitude after finishing fist of wind.

Male Human Gestalt Expert/Sorceror/Magus 1

yep we got from leorn like um 2nd day we were "here"

Male Human Druid/Sorceror 1

So, do we have the other stuff we trained for in this week then?

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Sorry guys. This stuff is taking longer to put together than I anticipated. I am running 9 campaigns in all and with the Packers losing and other stuff, well I got a tad behind. I'd like to have the next leg ready by tomorrow but I have to head out for a visit and then my live game night takes place after than. Rest assured that I will have us trucking along soon.

Female Human Sorcerer/1 & Oracle/1 (gestalt)

No worries, s'all good boss

***INACTIVE***

Yep, no rush.

Male Human Druid/Sorceror 1

I'm fine as well.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

I haven't had much time to put together the spells proper as I have been offered a lot of work hours. I am getting there. I am also trying to finish the layout for the campaign info sheet Ashley requested but it is taking time between all the other projects I have. At this point I cannot promise when we will be ready to move on as I have little time this week. Monday I will have the whole day and can at least promise to have something for you guys by them. Again I am sorry for the delay but altering the rules to fit this campaign is taking more work that anticipated.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Ugh wow this took a lot of time but I think it is time to get this thing moving again.

After a tumultuous week you are all called to a special strategy session.

At the session Kershak addresses you and the rest of your guardians.
"Okay you have done well with your training but one thing remains. A test of your mettle. Your courage, and your resolve. You and your guardians will participate in a mock battle against us. Your goal is to get past us. You and yours are unfamiliar with marsh warfare and we are the perfect test. Now it is time to see what you are made of. Go and ready yourselves."

You return to your....guest house. There Dunnely, Arastil, Ashal and their people are preparing for battle.

Trent:

The spell you learned is Water gun. A level 1 spell a ranged touch attack with a 30 foot +5 per level feet in range. It has more force the closer the target. At 30 feet and greater it does a d3 in force damage. At 20 feet it deals d4 damage and it does a bull rush adding the damage to the total dice roll. At 10 feet it does a d6 in force damage and knocks the target prone. Every 2 levels the effect range of each of those increments increases by 5 feet. Every four levels add an additional dice to each damage. Any questions?

Ashley:

Next thing you learn from the book is animate corpse. A fresh corpse.
The rules of the spell are:
Casting Time: 1 minute
Range: 15 feet.
Components: A fresh corpse not too badly damaged. Heal check to determine corpse quality. A spirit must be present and time to concentrate.

Okay guys I know it has hard with me not having being able to clarify the rules.
Do some roleplay and I will prepare the mock battle.

Reginald says to the other sorcerors, "So, this is it, I guess. We've come all this way, from high schoolers to warriors. What'dya think? You guys ready?" From the look on his face, Reggy isn't. Though his swings are more sure and his mace no longer breaks mid-swing, he's still honestly, deeply scared. He breathes shallowly out of his mouth, a quick and nervous panting, as he waits for responses.

Female Human Sorcerer/1 & Oracle/1 (gestalt)

Before they leave, concerned not to accidentally harm and of her lizard allies, and even more concerned that none of her closer friends and allies get harmed by the huge lizard people, she asks Kershak "How will this battle work exactly? How do we ensure that no one gets seriously hurt, or killed?"

Shano:

Huh, well That's cool! (and Gross! ; )

But how exactly does it work? I mean what are the spell stats? duration, what are the stats of the corpse etc.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Ash:

Duration is indefinite.
specs on corpse differ corpse to corpse.
This is the next spell you learn after detect undead.

Female Human Sorcerer/1 & Oracle/1 (gestalt)

Ok thanks. Any answer from Kershak?

Both Martian Level 20 invader

I'm waiting to see who else posts.

Trenton nods to the other sorcerers and goes to shrug on his armor taking up the sword that had been given to him from what it seemed so long ago. After he makes ready he goes to Arastil. "Afterwards I need to talk to you about what you can know about this mountain the shaman told us of. But for now let us focus on the practice battle ahead. If you would allow me I would accompany your troop if I won't disrupt your line too much."

......Break for Rp among Sorcs........

Before the battle Trent talks to battle leaders as well as his fellow students. " I know we haven't had much time to practice fighting as a whole. And thankfully we are able to in practice before we meet real foes. I won't waste our time on any more pretty speeches, or questioning our tactics. I would just ask that we watch each others flanks and....Lets show these lizards how we can fight!

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Still waiting on Terry but I will put some stuff down.

Kershak looks at Ashley. Normally it is hard to see an expression on a lizard's face but you could almost swear Kershak is smiling. "Your worried about people getting hurt or killed? Can't guarantee that in a mock battle. Best we can do is use blunt weapons and pray. We have a few healers but with the magic sealed away, our healers abilities are limited to potions. Those are hard to make so you best be careful out there."
With that Kershak pats Ash on the shoulder.

Arastil looks at Trent sternly. "I will be coordinating with the other leaders in this battle. We will decide how you will be deployed in the upcoming mock battle. This wont be real, but it won't be easy or fun either. Don't worry, I will make sure you survive. Even if it costs me my life. That is the only thing that matters."

Gene approaches Reginald holder her weapon ready for action. "My father has given me permission to stay at your side in the up coming battle. I will keep you safe at all costs. You can trust in me. Now I just want you to know, we are facing lizards today, but tomorrow we are facing gnolls. Gnolls are big nasty creatures that are twolegged hyenas. They are fierce and ruthless and very persistent. Now I understand they have no fear either. This will be hard. Very hard but we will make it through."

Female Human Sorcerer/1 & Oracle/1 (gestalt)

Ashley nods once in resonse to Kershak, a serious and thoughtful expression on her face 'If he so readily admits that people, our friends and allies could be killed in a mock battle with wooden weapons, what shall the next day be like?'

She then goes to find Leorn, and make sure that he is ok and has fully recovered from his illness.

Where has our old buddy been hiding out anyway?

Male Human Druid/Sorceror 1

To Trent, Reginald gives a solemn nod, saying, "Yes, and then, we show these gnolls the same, tenfold."

Reginald has a concerned look on his face as Gene tells him about the gnolls. He responds, "Hey, I can hold my own too. You don't have to baby me," and smiles at Gene. He then says, more seriously, "Thanks Gene."

***INACTIVE***

Terry has been quiet most of the time, debating whether or not to wear armor in the mock fight. It'll probably be better for practice, anyway. I wonder if I can train to cast spells better in armor?

"Arastil, Dunnely, and Ashal--are there any rules about using our attack magic?"

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Gene smiles at Reggy and nods with a smile. "of course you can. Now lets go meet the others and get ready. You head off and join the others in the strategy meeting.

At the meeting room Dunnely, Arastil, and Ashal all shake their heads. "There are no rules for magic. Use it if you got it." Dunnely says. Ashal and Arastil nod. "This battle is to ready you for a real fight. They will try and stop you so you must do whatever you have to in order get through alive." Ashal states.

You are now in the meeting room looking over a map of the landscape you will be battle on.

On the map it looks as though you will be trying to cross a river and the goal is the other side. Dunnely points. "It is of the utmost importants to get the four sorcerers and enough of a guard to the other side of this river. The lizards have a strong defensive point so we are going to push in from the sides. to thin out the center a bit. Then we make a strong push to the center with the four kids. That should make the job a success."

Leorn points at the map. "Who is going to accompany the sorcerers?"

Dunnely points at each of the leaders. "You three, myself, and about half of the relves. My people will hit one side of the blockade and the other half of the relves and the delves will hit the other side."

Arastil nods. "None of yours will make it though.

Dunnely nods. "My boys know whats at stake and will gladly givr their lives for the cause."

Arastil smirks. "My boys won't argue. They aren't much use for anything else."

Ashal also nods. "My people too will gladly lay down their lives for this plan"

Dunnely nods. "It's settled then, we break'em apart and our guard group will storm the center.

The four leaders nod in agreement. Not once do they consult any of you.

"Then lets get going."

Okay now you have a moment to either interject some of your own input on the matter or stay quiet and follow.

I am really sorry I haven't kept up with the game. With the addition of another live campaign and increased work hours, my time is cruched. On the good side I got a brand spankin new computer and now my capabilies to manage and access my material is easier. I still won't be posting as often but I will try.

[ooc]Again

Male Human Druid/Sorceror 1

Reginald stays silent through the entire meeting, only speaking up at the end to say, "Your warriors have my gratitude. All of them." He looks to each leader very seriously, contemplating as he goes how each must feel about having so many that they know being sent to die. Though they all keep a solid determination, he knows they must feel as nervous as he is on the inside. He gives a solemn nod, waiting for the others to say what they will before proceeding.

I will continue to post. However, if you need to end the campaign, I'll understand.

Male Human Gestalt Expert/Sorceror/Magus 1

Reggie you did catch that this is only a training exercise right? No one is actually supposed to die. Isnt the real battle yet
@Shano hey man slow but steady wins the race sure we aint exactly going steady but this is cool I for one dont want to just quit the game rather try and see where this goes like I said this only game now adays I truly enjoy

Female Human Sorcerer/1 & Oracle/1 (gestalt)

Did Ashley not get a chance to speak to Leorn then? But not really important or not either way. And no worries about your available time mate, it is what it is. Pretty sure we'll all still be here

Knowing literally less than nothing about military tactics, Ashley leaves the planning up to the experts. She is also still amazed at how serious just a mock battle is and the thoughts of what a real battle against evil foes actually trying to kill them begins to allow fear to seep in to her. But then she feels the swirling currents of the two energies within her, Fire and Spirit is significantly soothed, thinking 'I am not alone, and I am not without power here. We shall practice war today, and then tomorrow, our enemies shall taste what Fire and Spirit can do!'

Male Human Druid/Sorceror 1

I'm pretty sure the tactics they were discussing is for the real fight, as they were all saying it's okay, their warriors aren't afraid of death.

Male Human Gestalt Expert/Sorceror/Magus 1

Ashley:

Sorry I forgot about that. I was so preoccupied with finally getting that long post in I forgot. You can meet with Leorn. He seems much better. He looks at you and smiles. "Hello again, I hope this week has been better to you than I."

Trent:

Just curious dude, why is the only thing you post OOC comments? No mean to offend but your time is better spent posting IC when you can. Don't worry about how Reggy sees things or other players. Thats my job. Thank you.

Reggy:

This is for the mock battle but they are taking it VERY seriously. The REAL battle is tomorrow.

Male Human Gestalt Expert/Sorceror/Magus 1

Trent listens to the leaders speak for a while and nods trying to remember everything and taking in such new tactics. He then shrusg and decides the others know best before smiling shyly at Arastil and making his way outside drawing his sword to practice the sword forms she had taught.

It seemed so long ago, what has it been? Maybe a couple of weeks? Now here I am practicing with a sword, what would my brother say? What would Dad? Going into a practice battle readying for a a true battle versus what was it gnolls? He thinks to himself going through the motions that seemed as much a part of him as his own arm.
