Jasper, please keep all your responses in Spoilers for the time being. I'm fine if people can't help reading them its hard for me not to when I'm a player but for those that want the surprise, this will allow for it. Regardless, this shouldn't take too long one way or the other before everyone will become involved.
Tearing off, Jasper jogs through the forest not really caring where he heads so long as its away from the group. The raging torrent of saidin pushes him on, feeding his emotions. It is some time before he halts himself, looking around and realizing that he might have come across a bit petulant in his reaction. Still it would serve them right to worry.
Jasper began the walk towards camp, glad that while he did put some distance between himself and the others he didn't run so far that he wouldn't be able to find his way back. He had only begun the return trip when he felt a sudden pressure trying to cut him off from the Power. Spinning, eyes wide he looked for the source of the attack when another flow of what must have been saidar slammed between him and the Power, the raging torrent cutouff immediately as a short woman stepped out from behind a tree.

*edit: i changed my mind. Jasper wouldnt sit passivly, especially when being shielded. so he'll pull out a dagger and chuck it at her, more in a stance of defiance than a hope of hitting her.

The sun is setting when Jed and Ryland lift their heads sharply. Hands going to weapons, they scan the surrounding trees able to hear the faint sounds of movement coming from around them. The women stand eyes questioning until as one they spin to look to off into the night.
A woman steps out of the tree line, her clothes of a fine cut. To Jasmine and the rest of the women, she seems to glow surrounded by a nimbus of light. Before they're able to warn the men, the trees suddenly seem to spit out a wave of nightmare. Trollocs spill out, bestial snouts raised and sniffing the air, wicked weapons drawn. Worse still, two myrrdraal shift out of the darkness on opposite sides of the camp, their eyeless faces sending a chill down your spine as they look over the lot of you.
Standing next to the woman, a trolloc holds a struggling form bound at the wrists and ankles, a gag shoved into its mouth. After a moment you realize that the captive form is that of Jasper and the women are able to see that flows of Spirit hold him shielded.
Jed and Ryland's hands are a blur as weapons are drawn and the Source is embraced. Seeing saidar being grabbed, the woman smiles and raises a calming hand. I have no need to see you dead but if that is what you wish then so be it. But perhaps there is some chance at discussion. You have something that doesn't belong to you. Give it to me and you can save your friend's life as well as your own.
We're not on Initiative yet, we'll see how things pan out and what your choices are. But if it does head down that road, you can assume that at the start of any kind of combat/initiative you can have whatever relevant weapons drawn and all the channelers can be fully embracing the Source (except at the moment for Jasper). But like I said, we'll see what happens based on your decisions.
Jasper Firewyn
i knew i shoulda put the bracelet on, lol
Jasper listens to what the woman has to say and then tries to catch someones eyes, shaking his head violently to ensure everyone knows that they shouldnt deal with the wench.
Alathea Sedai
Alathea looks up curiously as Jed and Ryland reach for their swords. Just as she's about to ask what the matter is, she feels what she's been fearing since she came to Tanchico: a woman holding saidar, and a woman who isn't among her companions.
Fearing that the Seanchan have found them, she immediately embraces the Source and leaps to her feet, staring out in the direction of the unknown channeller. As the woman steps out into their clearing, Alathea relaxes for a moment as she recognizes her, but her fear comes raging back as the Shadowspawn burst out of the trees beside her. And when they bring out Jasper, her heart freezes.
The Sister speaks, but Alathea is beyond hearing. Holding back the panic that threatens to overwhelm her, she grits her teeth in grim determination. This Darkfriend and her minions will not take me or my friends, nor will they leave this place alive. Without taking her eyes off of the Sister, she mutters to her companions, "I think it is time we put what we have practiced to the trial."
Alathea has of course embraced saidar. Her first goal is to link with some combination of her Sisters, Fiallain, and/or Pace, assuming he's willing, if only to mitigate the possibility of being Shielded. Whether or not that works, her next goal is to Shield the woman. Hopefully after that, she'll be able to figure out a way to get Jasper to safety. Of course, these are only plans. I'm sure that what actually happens will require Alathea to adjust them.
suddenly i feel scared...Hold me, Alathea! LOL
I was going to make a joke about Alathea holding Jasper down so he could be gentled, but...uh, that seems inappropriate now.
Ryland of Fal Dara
Ryland shakes his head and spits at the ground towards the woman. "I name you darfriend, woman, you kind can not be trusted and your word is as foul as your soul. Darkness take you, you and your friends can kiss my arse."
He readys his sword infront of him, mesuring the distance between him and the woman. One shot, thats all I need. Maker help me.
Jasmine Raleen
I don't have knowledge local so I can't roll above a dc10. Weavesight check to determine level of power of the woman.1d20 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21
Jasmine looks at the woman with a calm facade but internally she is trying to contain the boiling rage she is feeling. The Creator forgive me but I will rip this woman apart if she so much as twitches in Jasper's direction! Taking a breath and giving a slight nod to Alathea, Jasmine puts her hand briefly on Alathea's shoulder Immediately linking. smiles at Ryland's words before stepping forward and saying I do not know who you are but if you think to frighten us you are sorely mistaken.
Jasmine immediately leaps into casting a weave to sever the woman's shield over Jasper.
Cut Weave at level 6 overchanneling 2 levels.
Opposed Concentration Check. 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Overchannel check to cast a weave 2 levels higher than slot. 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28
Jed al'Raes
Jed nods at Ryland's words, stepping up next to him and readying his own sword. There are two many trollocs and Myrdraal right now to worry about protecting Jasmine, he wouldn't be able to defend her from all directions. So he focuses his attention on the three most dangerous foes: The woman and the two Soulless.
Outwardly displaying little emotion, yet inwardly facing a tempest of rage, Jed waits for the first move to be made.
Fiallain Bo'airr
Fiallain leaps to her feet with the others, already veiled and weapon in hand. The glow of Saidar surrounds her moments later and her eyes scan the treeline, trying to count the trollocs. I knew this was too bloody easy..
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
A few questions to clarify the situation: Where are the Myrdraal in relation to the party members, particularly the women? Where are the Myrdraal in relation to the black sister? And finally, is the trolloc carrying the struggling Jasper holding (or able to draw quickly) a weapon, or is his hands full with the captive?
Pace Majal
Pace stands quietly at the sounds from the forest, his blood freezing and boiling as he struggles to control the Saidin he has suddenly seized. His eyes dart at Ryland as the man declares the woman a Darkfriend. He calmly reaches up and buttons the top button of his coat, which he had left open in the casualness of the camp."What my friend says is true and thus we have no way of knowing that by complying you would release us or the Soldier you have already seized." Blasted woman is using the Source. How are we going to get out of this one? As he is thinking, Pace moves back a step to be behind his companions line of sight.
I assume we are either in a circle with the Shadowspawn all around us, in which case Pace wants to be in the middle of the circle. Or we are in a line with them before us, in which case Pace wants to a step behind the others. Basically I am setting up to use the Light weave to blind as many of the foes as possible without risking any of us having it in direct line of sight.
DM Jonasty
As Jasmine reaches out to Alathea and begins to link with her Serviana lashes out with flows of Air, Water, and Spirit. The sounds of bones popping is loud in the night air as Jasmine fights to hold herself steady as large gashes begin tearing across her skin and bones snap. The Aes Sedai's voice is cold. So be it, child.
Serviana uses Rend at 4th level on Jasmine as a Readied action for Round 1. As it has a 0 level version, any of the female channelers may attempt Weavesight checks to attempt to learn it. (Sorry Jasper.)
Jasmine Fort save, DC 18: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18, Damage: 4d8 + 10 ⇒ (1, 8, 4, 4) + 10 = 27, save for half.
Initiative:
Jasmine: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Jed: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Jasper: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Pace: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Alathea: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Litheene: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Fiallain: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Ryland: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Serviana: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Myrddraals: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Trollocs: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Map (the outlined area is the edge of the campsite clearing, everything past it is trees/cover/etc)
There is no surprise round and Serviana had a readied action, otherwise we'll procede as normal for Round 1. A note for Jasmine/Alathea and any others, linking is a full round action. Jasmine you will have to wait till Round 2 to cast Cut Weave. Also, the DC for non-leaders to link is super low for all of you so since Jasmine made her check as leader, everyone else can just assume they made their Concentration checks to link and since everyone is within 5 ft of Jasmine, whoever wants to chime in and say they are part of the circle in Round 1 can do so. Jasmine, the linking check is regardless of damage so even with the attack, you'll still get the link created.
Jasmine and Alathea are linking for their Round 1 actions. Everyone else please post your Round 1 actions. As mentioned above, any channelers around the fire can say they are part of the circle if they choose so. The Black Sister has already gone (with her readied action) so I will post the shadowspawn Round 1 actions shortly.
Alathea Sedai
Weavesight check to learn Rend, DC 20 needed: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22: Rend has been learned!
Alathea twitches as she sees Serviana weave about her Sister, and winces at Jasmine's cry. It is have never seen the like before...but I understand it. It is merely a perversion of a weave to Heal...Light curse this woman! Such a thing should never be used!
Although she feels the need to lash out at Serviana and repay her for what she's done to Jasper and Jasmine, Alathea knows that she will be more effective by linking with Jasmine. Surrendering her power to her Sister, she joins the circle that Jasmine has started.
In addition to joining the circle with Jasmine, Alathea will take a 5 foot step to square O10, so that she can be closer to Jasmine to join the circle. Which leads me to ask: once joined in the circle, what can Alathea do if she's not leading the circle and directing the weaves? Is she allowed to attack? Help out her companions in non-combat ways? Move to the other side of the campsite? I've looked through the Linking section on page 159 and skimmed through the combat chapter, but I haven't found any restrictions besides the obvious one of not weaving and I don't remember any restrictions in the novels, but then again, I don't think there's been any mention of circle members doing much of anything besides concentrating on the circle in the novels either.
Jasmine Raleen
Jonasty did you need me to roll to save for half? or was that what the Fort roll was for? If you do here it is, if not that's fine too regardless of the roll. 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 Well hopefully that isn't a waste of a 20 lol. Weavesight to learn Rend. 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (16) + 16 = 32 Nice! Learned.
Jasmine gasps in pain as gashes are ripped through her body, blood staining her pretty green silk dress. Through gritted teeth she says Litheene! Ward the Shadowspawn out!
Litheene
Litheene recognizes the sister, but when she sees the shadowspawn erupt all around them she shudders Black Ajah? I couldn't have guessed on her. Then again, how do you expect something like this? How sad that students of the tower soccumb to serve the shadow.
Unexpireinced with shadowspawn, Litheene still remembers the effect of the myrradral on her from the previous battle, and hearing Jasmines cry, she quickly reacts. I must keep them away from us! Light I hope this new weaves works, not exactly the kind you can test before you need it. Litheene grabs her angreal, hidden in her cloths, and channeles a shpere to hold the shadowspawn out. level 3 ward against shadowspawn weave using a 2 slot. I create a dome so that all of us are inside. It's big enought to encompass the party.
weavesight to learn rend: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35
Litheene remembers some damane using the weave Serviana unleashed, thou it's her first chance to see it clear enough to understand. Aren't you bright Serviana? this weave isn't common at the tower. However, you aren't getting the bracelet, not against so many of us. This time I won't let the fades get near
Ryland of Fal Dara
As the gashes apear on Jasmine's skin Ryland screams with rage at the darkfriend. "Die foul ceature!" He runs head long towards the woman, his sword held low to his left side , swinging it in a large arc as his reaches the woman, throwing his weight behind the blow.
Charge Attack: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 12 + 2 = 24
Damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Litheene
Actually we might benefit more from taking her alive. She knows about the bracelet
If we knock her out, it will break her shield, safer than disrupting it, she seems too dangerous beeing left free to channel Litheene wispers to Jasmine from behind
DM Jonasty
Shadowspawn Round 1. The only person left to go before the shadowspawn is Jed so the actions may be adjusted slightly depending on what he does. But here's the shadowspawn turn for the most part.
The trollocs and a fade move forward, rushing towards the group before they all seem to plow into an invisible wall. The trollocs howl in rage and beat at the air in front of them, trying to figure out what happened. The myrddraal stops after the first impact, it's sightless gaze passing over the group. It then turns its head in Ryland's direction, seeing him outside of whatever is holding them back.
One of the trollocs and fade move to intercept Ryland as he attempts to strike down their mistress. The one holding Jasper, who seems larger than the rest of the beastmen, drops him uncerimoniusly at its feet before drawing its weapon and attacking Ryland as well.
Will saves vs Myrddraal Fear Gaze, DC 17 (everyone has to make one as you all are within 30 feet of one of them), failure means Shaken for 1d6 ⇒ 1 mintes:
Ryland: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Pace: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Litheene: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Alathea: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Jed: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Jasper: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Jasmine: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Fiallain: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Trolloc attack on Ryland: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23, Damage: 2d4 + 5 ⇒ (3, 3) + 5 = 11
Trolloc sergeant attack on Ryland: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19, Damage: 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (2, 1) + 7 = 10
Myrddraal attack on Ryland: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17, Damage: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Trolloc crit confirm on Ryland: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22, Bonus Damage: 2d4 + 5 ⇒ (2, 2) + 5 = 9
The rest of the shadowspawn are halted by the barrier and we'll see what they decide to do on Round 2.
Jasmine Raleen
Round 2 Action.
Hearing Litheene's statement and coming to the same conclusion, Jasmine changes tactics. Father always said, in war and in business...divide and conquer. Jasmine looks at the Black sister and says You will rue the day you went against the light! With that she concentrates and weaves an incredibly complex mesh of all 5 elements around the woman and the large trolloc. Master Ward level 4 using a level 3 weave. Centered on M1 and encompassing L1, L2, M1, M2, N1, N2. Leaving Jasper outside the dome and since Master Ward disallows all channeling through it, his shield should be gone unless it was tied off.
Ryland of Fal Dara
Round 2
AC: 22
HP: 40/60
Ryland's lips form a thin line as the trolloc's blade draws blood.
The sight of the Myrddraal making his eyes widen with the hint af fear.
Maker help me!
He continues to press the attack against the darkfriend. Putting all of his strength into the swing.
Power Attack:1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 10 - 2 = 26
Damage: 1d10 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 4 = 12
DM Jonasty
Gonna hold off on an update till the rest of the PC's post Round 1 actions, but anyone may post Round 2. Just understand that you may need to adjust if something changes.
Also, Ryland just so you're not surprised with the update, you are at 30 not 40 hp. Because you charged, the trolloc sergeant will actually hit you with a 19 due to the AC penalty.
Pace Majal
Seeing the shadowspawn charging in, Pace takes a step back and raises his arm above his head, his palm open to the sky. Weaves of Fire and Air swirl towards his open palm, a pinprick of light appears in his hand, quickly growing into a blinding ball of white light. The party sees their shadows cast before them as the shadowspawn quickly turn their eyes from the brilliant sphere. Suddenly, the light is gone and the setting sun regains it's prominence.
5' step to N12. Cast Level 3 Light. All creatures facing the sphere must make a DC 16 Reflex save or be blinded for a number of rounds equal to the amount they missed the save by.
