Sorry, Jexen! I never saw this post! A bit too late, now. :(
But yes, you did move and attack, I just forgot to put you in the round summary. It was updated on the map.
On another note, I'm flying back home tomorrow. It's going to be a hectec day. Might not be able to post, or if I can it will be late at night.

Nice reaction to the shadow magic, Sköllji. It says in the book that shadow magic isn't actually a forbidden tradition, but that it is often viewed as straddling the line. Brinda is indeed turning a bit freaky. I'm looking forward to seeing Cynerik's reaction to her using such magic.

Sorry if my posting gets spotty over the next month, I'm in the final throes of my master's thesis, and it's getting hectic. Don't hesitate to bot me however you see fit during this time.

Sköllji is afraid of magic in general. I've been waiting for someone to cast a spell he could notice. Luckily, he's also pretty dense.

Hey there guys. I'm posting this on my phone so I apologize for any mistakes. My laptop has given up the ghost so for now, I will be not be able to post. I do not know how soon can get a new one up and running but I'll do what I can as soon as i can.
I'd like to keep playing but if you have to replace me for a more consistent player, I understand. If that is the case, it has been a pleasure. I'll keep you guys updated as best I can.

Sorry gang, busy and big weekend. Just to let you know, bookrat, weekends may be spotty for the next month or so, lots of work coming up out of town. And that thesis is still making its death saving throws...

Okay, quick notes on my new character before I start da rolls. I'm thinking that he could be one of the young men from Fletcher's Rest who helped in the battle with the Bandits.
After the group left, he decided to follow them, hoping that the heroes would let him join their group.
He arrived in Cheqwood this morning, and after talking to the locals headed out in the direction the group was heading.
As far as rulebooks goes, I just have the main one and the Demon Lord's Companion, but I don't plan on taking anything from the latter...yet.
Stats: Str, Agi, Int, and Will all start at 10. I'm going to be dropping his Int by 1 to add to his Str. I'm also going to put the Human +1 in Str, to represent him being strong from working the forge and tough to stand dealing with the long hours and heat.
Languages and Professions: Start with Common, and gain a random profession or another language (going to take Dwarven).
Background: 1d20 ⇒ 15 15 You saved your town from terrible monsters. (A bit on the nose there!)
Personality:You try to do what you think is right, even if it breaks laws and social conventions. Like most people who live on the fringes of civilization, he's not much for following arbitrary rules or laws, but he sticks to his morals.
Religion: No religion. He gives lip service to the new faith, but he's far from faithful.
Age: Going with young adult, cause it fits where I see him, although he's almost 18, so he's on the cusp of adulthood.
Build: He's average height for a Human and stocky, like most smiths.
Appearance: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 1) = 9 You are perfectly average in appearance. You look like everyone else.
Starting Professions: Going to turn one of them into Elven Language, and my other one is going to be Blacksmith Common Profession.
Wealth: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 3) = 10 Comfortable:
You have a club, fine clothing, a backpack, a cloak, a week of rations, a waterskin, a coil of rope, a tinderbox, 2 torches, a healing potion, and a pouch containing 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2 cp. You also have a Smith's Tools.
Interesting Thing Table #: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Thing from that Table: 1d20 ⇒ 15 A book written in an unknown language (he got the book in exchange for mending a wagon axle from a travelling sage).
Novice Path: Assuming it's okay to do so, Durnik will be following the Warrior path (since it makes sense for his character).
Modifications from the Warrior Path:
+1 Str and Agi
+5 Health
Going to take the Militia military profession, to represent his volunteer time spent as a militiaman.
Catch your Breath
Weapon Training
If possible, I'd like to add a couple of things to his starting equipment, representing things that he had created himself.
I'd like a suit of either Hard Leather or Brigidine armor. I'd also like a Large Shield if possible.
1) Describe one Positive and one Negative personality trait you have.
Durnik tends to rely on common sense, something far too lacking in the modern age, but sometimes his pragmatism can get in his own way. He's also not all that bright.
2) How do others make you feel? Do you like being the center of attention or bring left alone; is there a such thing as a stranger to you or do you even know what it's like to have a friend. Things like that.
Durnik is fine being on his own; in his village, he knew most everyone, and when he was apprenticed to the blacksmith, he took to the work well enough. Most people would consider him normal, and most of the people he knew from Fletcher's Rest tried to talk him out of going, but he had made up his mind.
3) Name one thing you value most. Then name one thing you could lose. These could be ideals, physical possessions, relationships, etc..
Durnik values honesty. Most smiths have similar mindsets when it comes to doubletalk or
4) What do you fear? What do you hate?
Durnik is actually afraid of the woods, although he'd never tell; he hates bullies (people who think they have power and use it to push other people around).
5) What do you desire? What do you love?
Deep down, Durnik wants to be a hero; he likes the idea of helping others; he loves honest conversation, a good beer, and a warm hearth.
6) You have (at least) one secret. What is it?
Durnik is not his father's son. Durnik knows this (his father told him on his deathbed), but he doesn't know who his real father is.
7) Have you done something Notable? What was it?
Durnik joined the militia in helping to wipe out the bandits near his home. It was the most exciting thing he had ever done.
8) Are you in charge or do you let others take that roll? Do you rebuke authority or revel in it?
While Durnik does tend to avoid authority, he IS willing to follow those who he believes to be trustworthy.
9) Do you follow through on your promises and obligations? Or do you delay or avoid? Do you feel guilty when you don't uphold them?
Durnik keeps his word.
10) What are your opinions on Good and Evil? Do they exist? Or is it all shades of Grey? Where do you see yourself?
Durnik believes that both Good and Evil creatures exist, but he also believes that most men fall somewhere in the middle. Besides, it's really not his place to tell other folk how to live.

So I know things are moving a bit sloely at the moment, but gotta say, this is a pretty heavy moment going on here. So many good character things happening.

bookrat |

There's no real effect until it reaches your Will Score.
At this point, all it does is make the Frightened Condition last longer each time you get a new Insantiy Score (lasts as many rounds as your new score).
When it reaches your Will Score, you'll gain a Madness; you'll roll a d20 and we'll see what happens.

Good to know!
I now own the pdf, but I haven't had time to do much more than browse the clockwork section.
I mostly noted it here so that I will better remember to update my notes when I am back on my desktop.

I apologize everyone for my silence the past while. Depression reared its ugly head and left things in tatters around here. I'm trying to get everything settle but it is taking awhile. Perhaps for the moment, Cynerik is in a catatonic shock of some sort at the inn? I'm trying to get things ordered as quickly as I can.

Toy |

Yep, happening to me at the moment too, although not with this campaign. I'm also getting all sorts of other pbp threads popping up on my focused campaign page, not sure why. Buggy as hell.

So it is with some deliberation that I've decided that I need to pull out of the games here on Paizo. My mental health just isn't where it needs to be and while I'm getting it all sorted out, it is making being consistent difficult. Bookrat's game is honestly one of the absolute best games that I've had the privilege of being a player in and I definitely want him to have the best players for his game as possible.
Hopefully, in the times to come, I'll get my situation under control and be able to come back to the games properly with a better mindset and rejoin whatever is going on or at least catch a few of you in other games if not. Thank you all for playing with me and tolerating my intermittent tendencies, it has been an absolute pleasure. Happy gaming and I'll catch you all later! <3

Aw man, that really sucks, sorry to hear you're having a tough time. It's been great fun playing with you, I've really enjoyed your input and character. Hope everything works out for the best mate, and look forward to playing with you again sometime.

bookrat |

We're all sad to see you go, Cyrenik, but I'm glad it's to make yourself better. I hope you recover quickly.
You'll always be welcome back at any time. Just give me a PM or check in with me at Discord if you ever want to come back in. You've been a fantastic player and just a great person to have around.

Level 2 Magician
Health +2 >> 13
Spell Recovery
Two choices (spells or traditions): Not sure yet! Thinking I might get a new tradition, just poring over the many, many options! Chaos might be good. Or something offensive. Was thinking maybe a dark tradition, but I don't think Brinda's quite that far down the rabbit hole... yet. Happy to take suggestions on board from anyone!
Edit: At this stage, I'm going to learn a spell and discover a new tradition. Fun options seem to be Battle, Chaos, Fire, or Illusion, with Destruction a possibility too. Necromancy would be fun, but maybe a bit of a stretch... And I'm not sure my army of undead would please the party too much!
