I'm fine with Finneas moving up in Round 6--it would have been hard to predict the way was going to be clear of the spider and ettercap. And if you were wondering, the reach weapon prevented the spines from hitting you. Now in Round 7 it's another move up to the empty space where you can take a swing at the halfling.

Glimmil waits patiently outside the room while light flashes within several times. Squinting, he can only make out Finneas swinging his massive sword at something on the ceiling.

"Finneas! You can draw him out here to the rest of us! He surely can't hole up in there for eternity!"

Glimmil backs up Cog to AG,49 and readies to charge at something stepping into AG,53 should the others fall back and try to lure the halfling wizard out of his den.

Round 10

The halfling eyes Toffit's approach and his hands begin to weave back and forth again. This time when the hands stop, a finger points at Toffitt. "No. Blast you!" A glowing blood red ray shoots forth dropping Toffitt to the ground. The halfing laughs as a second ray shoots forth. It burns through Finneas's armor, his skin, boils his blood, and exits out the backside of his armor. Despite the hole in him, Finneas remains standing and unstaggered thanks to Atol's most recent healing.

Actually, I see I was cheating. Finneas still gets an AoO to save himself and Toffitt.

Atol frowns and moves back toward the chamber of death (to AH53) and channels energy for 3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 5) = 10 worth of healing. He is careful to exclude the hobbit and the spider in his healing burst... just in case.

"HOW ARE WE DOING? ARE WE WINNING? DO WE HAVE THE WANDS YET?"


In his exuberance, the halfing stretches out a bit too far and Finneas's swing leaves a huge gash in the halfling's head that drips blood over Finneas and Toffitt. The halfing screams, but does not drop.


Atol went before Toffitt last round and this one, so Toffitt will be healed and wake up this round, prone on the ground with empty hands.

The instant Toffitt is struck by the fiery ray, his flesh begins knitting back together.

Since a free action can happen at any time, and this one happens in response to going to -1 hp, I suppose he would still probably fall but is more or less instantly awake again...

Toffitt immediately stands back up and drinks an elixir he has on hand.

The halfing disappears.
