"I may be able to fit, but I don't think I could swing my sword in there. Does anybody have a thrusting weapon I could borrow?"
I hope Glimmil doesn't offer me one of his spoons to use. Maybe a tureen as a shield? Wait, what's a tureen?
Female voice: It's a serv...
No!
Male voice: I told you, no real warrior needs to know those things.
Busting my shit up. Lol.

GM_Chris |

Finneas stands by the trap door as Glimmil hops down into the storage area. As Glimmil touches the floor with his shield brightly illuminating the interior he sees a creature about his size with two tentacles 10' away among the wood cut outs. One of the tentacles lashes out at Glimmil's neck and wraps around it, pulling Glimmil next to him.
I love the visual of this from the perspective of those on the stage looking down at Glimmil. One second he's standing there. The next he isn't.

Finneas Glenn |

Dyrant will move to stand on the trap door lest it be shut again. He will give Finn the Blessing of St. Cuthbert.
"Finn, you're our only hope."
So...Screwed...

Glimmil |

C'mon Gunslinger!
Baby needs a new pair of guns! C'mon Gunslinger!
1d20 ⇒ 2
EDIT: BARD!!?! AH CRUD.
EDIT #2: The game is rigged!!! There is no Gunslinger!

GM_Chris |

Drawing on my own experiences, I view leveling as a gradual change and learning followed by moments of ephiphany. I still vividly remember about my 3rd year of martial arts when people suddenly seemed to move slower and I moved faster (+1 Dex, +1 BAB). I definitely could take more hits after going through the black belt test (more hit points). I definitely knew more after black belt school, but I learned the katas, strikes, punches, and kicks (feats) at varoius times.
Anyway, all that is to say I will let people level up as quickly as possible after the xp reaches the appropriate level--typically during a break in the action like this. I won't require a full night's sleep though. No trip to a trainer required, etc.
Continue to use the Pathfinder Society rules for level 2. Definitely feel free to roleplay things as you go along--i.e. I have one character in a PbP teaching my character goblin since I plan on taking another point in linquistics. I'm not going to worry about the details of how you learned dungeoneering and suddenly know what the grue was, but you might from a roleplaying sense. Perhaps you've been reading that book on the environments of Cauldron's cave system over and over and it finally made sense.
When you level, it's fine to ask about things outside the Pathfinder Society. I'll likely say no, but I can be convinced otherwise--especially if you've roleplayed up to it.

GM_Chris |

Let's aim to be done with leveling by Sunday night. I'm happy to roleplay it as much or as little as you'd like.
Ditto with the sale of items and purchasing of new items. Here is the party treasure link again:
I'll put up a magic items for sale list for Skie's treasury this weekend, too.
Oh, and totally ignore this roll. :)
1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

GM_Chris |

Most important question. Method of HP determination.
EDIT - Which duh, I'm sure is a PFS thing I need to go look at. :)
(Table 4–1)
Hit Points per LevelClass Hit Dice--Hit Points at 1st Level--Gained per Level*
Barbarian d12 12 7
Bard d8 8 5
Cleric d8 8 5
Druid d8 8 5
Fighter d10 10 6
Monk d8 8 5
Paladin d10 10 6
Ranger d10 10 6
Rogue d8 8 5
Sorcerer d6 6 4
Wizard d6 6 4
* Add this number to your Constitution bonus and to any
applicable feats, such as Toughness, and any applicable
favored class bonuses.

Glimmil |

Thanks, I answered my own question. Glim's leveling is complete (it's easy stuff).
HP Gained: 6(Class)+3(Con)+1(FC)=+10
Saves: +1 Fort +1 Will +3 All (Divine Grace)
BAB: +1
Gained: Lay On Hands 4X/Day (1d6)
Skills (+2 class +0 Int +0 FC):
+Disable Device
+Handle Animal
Skill-wise, I figure Glim opened enough locks and interacted with enough devices; and spoke with enough animals.
* I keep this in my sheet too, in the bottom in a spoiler, for each level gained.
Garl will protect him against any more poisoning! (Rocking +9 Fort saves now baby!)

Atol Lem |

Atol picks up a couple additional spells, some better combat ability (BAB +1 baby!) for his cudgel and two skills. For skills he's grabbing heal (after studying the kit) and sense motive (after dealing with Dyrant).
Glimmil, Atol would like to start learning your language if you'll help teach him. It'll be slow going, but he is persistent if you're willing.

D30 |

Silfr will go home and take his old sword down from the wall. He is recalling his past paladin training and becoming....
Summoner 1 / Paladin 1
+6 HP
+1 BAB
+2 Fort, Will saves
Weapon Proficiencies
2 + 2 skill points
Diplomacy (he has practice with this group!)
Knowledge: Nobility (he is after all part of a noble house)
Sense Motive (Required when grouping with brigands)
Spellcraft (So many illusions!)
1/2 elf multi-talented: paladin as second favored class, +1/4 evolution point
Aura of Good
Detect Evil
Smite Evil 1/day

Funny. I went to respond to your post and this edit shows up no matter how many times I refresh.

Glimmil |

Here's Glimmil's overnight plans.
1. Visit his family.
I posted this in the IC thread already. He will probably grab some baked goods from his gnome-mom in the morning since Atol seemed to like them. He'll leave a few coins on the counter for groceries with a note (let's call it 5g).
2. Sell/Trade Armor
Will give Skie first shot, otherwise any blacksmith will do.
He would like to barter several of the chain shirts (100g retail) for banded mail (250g retail) - ideally trading ~4 chain shirts for 1 banded mail. Finneas may want to consider getting in on this.
For this negotiation (if it's not Skie), here's a Diplomacy check:
Barter (chain shirts for other armor): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
I hope the rest of the party is OK with this, as Glim and Finn seem to be taking the most hits, so upgrading our armor is good "strategery".
If get can get half-price for the 10 bucklers, that's 75 gold.
3. Go shopping for a dog
Yep, if he can manage to come up with 150g from whatever we sell off, Glimmil wants to buy a puppy. With a saddle.

Dyrant Maynor, the Pre-Sainted |

Dyrant can loan you money...even at reasonable extortion rates.
I mostly need money for scribing scrolls right now more than anything, and those costs are controlled by time.
If you can barter for better armor, go for it, however the sale proceeds from the rest should be split evenly.
I think. We should talk more about it, I guess.

Atol Lem |

I'm a fan of pooling our resources to get the fighters with the best armor/weapons we can afford, get you scroll stuff and whatever else is needed. I can't think of what Atol might need but after that we can divvy the remaining cash.
Not necc. fair per se, but we need to get our front line in order. :)
The alternative is to dump everything into shares and loan money back and forth which is also fine with me. Whatever folks want to do. I can't wear better armor until I get muleback cords (1kgp) to handle the weight.
EDIT: Actually the more I think on it the more I like the latter. Early on I can loan out freely as there isn't much I want. However later when I'm fishing for an amulet to enhance my channeling I'm going to really need the cash. Having said that I'll go with whatever folks want to do I don't feel that strongly about it.

Finneas Glenn |

Whatever method we come up with is fine by me. As for heavier armor Finneas will go for the heaviest he can afford. Not being able to use a shield means he'll want the toughest stuff he can find, and with no dex bonus until level 4 he'll need it.
Oracle Level 2
7 Hit points (5 average, +1 Con, +1 Favored Class)
Spells added:
Level 0 Spark
Level 1 Enlarge Person
Skills
1 point Knowledge Religion
1 point Perception
1 point Spellcraft
1 point Intimidate

Glimmil |

This is a guess from our latest expedition, feel free to correct.
Selling:
rapier, dagger, small chain shirts(10), bucklers(10), mirror, silver dragon pendant, tourmalines(2), masterwork mandolin
Keeping:
spellbook, wand, ioun torch, healer's kit, scrolls, thunderstone
The spellbook is likely worth some serious coin (a few hundred gold even?) if nobody wants it.
I suppose first, let's see if we can swap 8 chain shirts for 2 suits of banded for Glim and Finneas. If that works, we can peddle the 2 remaining for coin. If not, it should be at worst case a straight swap of 10 suits for 2 suits.
Glimmil will also sell his scale mail for half-price (25g).
With an even 5-way split of coins (178g, 225s, 140c), I believe we're at least seeing 40g 3s 8c each.

Dyrant Maynor, the Pre-Sainted |

I'm for selling the wand and possibly the spellbook once it's been opened and I can see the insides. Unless I'm wrong, I'm the only yahoo who could use it.

GM_Chris |

Silfr will sell his old studded leather (for 50%?) and go home for the recovery period. After a meal he sits staring at his old sword, from his youthful adventures. Price deducted from gold.
Yes. Net of -37.5 deducted from treasure account which puts you in the negatives after your purchases here other purchases
But it should all work out after selling the other gear.

Atol Lem |

OK folks. Step right up, Atol's banking service is available to you. :D
Atol has 200gp and is buying nothing at this time. If he buys anything it'll overload the poor man. So if anyone needs a loan for armor or whatever, let me know.

Finneas Glenn |

I'll be buying Banded Mail for 200 gp. With the calculations I might end up 10 gold short, will need to see what our final tally is. If Atol is willing to lend him the difference (if any) Finneas will pay him back as soon as he's able.
Having upped my armor class to 17 which is as good as it gets until full plate (for me), I'll be throwing the rest of my acquired resources (in the future) towards a CLW wand for the party.

Dyrant Maynor, the Pre-Sainted |

Need some help here. What types of items do newer classes need/want that might not show up in a 3.5 module? You can always check at Skies and she can order some things, but I'm talking about found treasure.
I like the standard stuff. I can't recall anything new that is a must have.
Btw, have you posted what is inside the book yet?

Glimmil |

He did. What's in the spellbook is largely worthless to a Witch. There's a few spells on there a Summoner could learn.
alter self - not avail to witch or summoner
color spray - not avail to witch or summoner
detect magic - cantrip
ghost sound - not avail to witch or summoner
invisibility - not avail to witch, avail to summoner
mage hand - cantrip
minor image - not avail to witch, avail to summoner
misdirection - avail to summoner
magic aura - not avail to witch, avail to summoner
read magic - cantrip
silent image - not avail to witch, avail to summoner
The net is basically, besides cantrips, there's Invisibility and Misdirection, two 2nd level spells that Silfr could eventually learn.
I'd say we're better off selling the book, and if Silfr eventually wants these spells (earliest is 5th level if he is Summoner4/Paladin1), we can buy them then?

Atol Lem |

I'm looking for Muleback Cords. It's a small 1kgp magic item that I can't yet afford. However when I can it'll be my first purchase. It increases your strength by 8 SOLELY for the purpose of carrying things.
Then I can get better armor, carry needed gear, and become the packrat Atol strives to be...
