Mik PZ |

Yes, i thought about using acrobatics to avoid an AoO but not at the time of posting. That ghost got me off my game.
I also don't like your Freudian misspelling of corner.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Question: since Griff can seee Mik's attack take place In what way did she avoid the precision damage?
also, Mik you could tumble to try and avoin the AOO, and your fly spell gave you more than enough movement to get into the coroner.
Blind-Fight.
AoO w/Elven Curved Blade: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Either way, the AoO misses.
Grape Ape
Grape Ape rounds the corner following where Mik went and sees Griff as a target.
Claw: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
The ape's claw deflects off of Griff's protective devices.
Griff is up.

Griff Olar |

Move action: Griff closes the door
Swift action: Griff waggles his eyebrows, To Infinity and Beyone!!
Standard action: Griff will cast Teleport for Mik & himself to go back to the pathfinder camp.
teleportation mishap(high bad): 1d100 ⇒ 31
Like a BOSS!

Gimble, The Storyteller |

I'll go through XP tomorrow.
ZAO is going to be a few minutes behind you.
It doesn't take long for word to get around that you guys are back and after about a minute Amivor comes up to Griff and Mik.
"Where's Gelik? Did you find him?" Pausing for a second, and looking around, "Where's ZAO?

Mik PZ |

Just a few scraps. We didn't find Gelik yet. ZAO should be here shortly
In Sylvan to Griff, Still haven't found Gelik nor properly avenged Goro. What say we go back tomorrow?

Griff Olar |

@Amivor;"Hopefully The great and powerful ZAOwill be joining us shortly. As for Gelik, I didn't see him, but there were a few rooms we weren't able to look in, and our attempts to make a sneaky rescue were thwarted. So I went for a high body count, to make Goro proud. 7 I saw fall, and Mik is still wearing a bit of the last one...I believe that after we rest and get to our full strength that our next assault will be successful, if we cannot save Gelik, we shall avenge him!.. "
Griff will keep a lookout waiting for Zao to return.
@Mik Of course! Not enough blood has been spilled!

Griff Olar |

[ooc] I didn't hit that last mantis all that hard, he must have had a self distruct.[/oor]
Before resting Griff will gather the group for a strategy session. Starting with asking Zao, and Mik what the rest of the dungeon layout looks like (I can see the map no need to explain it unless you would like to)."First off, after resting and preparing spells I plan immediately heading back to the red mantis lair. two reasons, 1st their still alive an that erks me. 2nd to free Gelik from them...Oh! and Mik the next time I tell you there's undead in a room and we'll deal with them later, PLEEAASE don't take that to mean do whatever you can to let them out. Any suggestions as to how we deal with this next assault?:

ZAO Zenkrikk Azler Oz |

Zao informs Griff of what he knows of the layout. But also mentions that he feels strange. Like The great Monkey God has other plans for him and he needs to step away from the world for a while and focus on training the Charau Ka and showing them their new place in the world.

Mik PZ |

Fruhmh, unleashing those undead may have caused the distraction we needed. Speaking of undead, was there any other openings to that room? I think their room might be the best place to teleport as it is the only place we can be assured they won't place any traps. And they know we are coming back. Speaking of traps, should we not expect them to attack us tonight? We should be on high alert.
I think the strangeness you are feeling is because you are a gnome, ZAO.

Griff Olar |

Hhmmm...Griff wil scratch his chin with one hand and scratch behind Francis's ear's with the otherfor a few minutes in pensive reflection. I see, a, distraction... that might have worked. My apologies Mik, I think I've been letting my anger control me a little to much. I don't think we should teleport into the undead room, because one of them was a GHOST, & the other was a trog/ghast.
The Ghost was speaking Azlanti, which makes me think he has been here for a very long time and I would like to try ant have a conversation with it. That is for after we save Gelik! I am wondering if gelik is still alive, Griff turns and looks at Kieyanna Kieyanna, could you prepair a "Scrying" spell to locate Gelik? I'm sure there is something of his around to make it easier, and the three combined camps might have the rest of what you'll need.

Griff Olar |

If the scrying spell works it should let us see if gelik is still alive and the area around him. this should let us know if they have taken Gelik and left in the night. Also I will retract my statment of attacking first thing, they may be expecting it and have some prep spell ready.
Mik if it is just you and I going to save Gelik, we should either do it similarly to how we infiltrated last time, except that once we get to the outside entrance I can Dimensional step us down into a room or a hall. The other way would be a frontal assault. For that to work I would like to take a few more people.
any time the new toons would like to show up... any time now...
In whatever we do, I'm going to get some rest. If the assassins manage to get past the Charukah, past our camps defenses, into my rope trick and attack me I'll be very impressed...and then I shall turn them into red myst. Griff will walk away cast rope trick, climb into it and pull the rope in after him. Then Griff will get his two hours rest.

Kieyanna. |

That evening, Kieyanna meets back up with the group. "I was able to aquire the items needed for Scrying and Commune. I've also received notice that I have to leave. We need to go through this process first thing in the morning, then I must leave. Goodnight, I'll see you in the morning." Kieyanna takes a drink from her flask and starts to walk off. She stops and turns back, "Also, think about what questions you might want answered with Commune and in what order you want me to do this. Does Jyord want to attempt to reincarnate Goro before or after I cast? Goodnight then." She takes one more swig from her flask and heads back to her tent.

Griff Olar |

Griff would like to collaborate more with the group(Zao, Mik, Jyord, Francis, Kieyanna, Jask, and Amivor) on what question to ask the commune spell. I've listed some in the discution thread, but Griff has a 24 ind, and Coop only has about a 13. So if we could do a group Int and or Wis checks to determine if there are other questions we should ask?also if the other players have questions please, please.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Nice Rolls!
As you guys are talking, Kassata looks at ZAO as something he said struck her, "Do the Red Mantis have the same goals as we do? That is, are they looking for the same things?"
Amivor pulls Griff out of earshot of everyone else and whispers.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

As the discussion continues, it starts to get late. Those without rings of sustenance need a full 8 hours and need to turn in.
Here's what you guys need to decide for tomorrow:
In what order the following spells are to be cast:
1. Commune (9 rounds, maximum 1 question per round)
2. Scrying (9 minutes)
3. Reincarnation
What questions to ask for Commune
- Is Gelik alive?
- Is Gelik in the red mantis lair?
- Does Goro's spirit want to be reincarnated?
- Are the living red mantis members that Griff, Zao, and Mik fought yesterday still in the structure they were in yesterday?
- Can the Ghost in the red mantis lair be reasoned with?
- if the red mantiss is ahead of us on their goals here incomparison to ours.
- do the red mantis in Saventh Yhi have any of the portal crystals that we are looking for?
- Is Ivo still in the spire?
- Have reinforcements been called in to the Red Mantis camp?
- Is Chivane plotting an assault on our group?
- Do the Red Mantis have the same goals as we do?
- I'd like to know if any of the Red Mantis have infiltrated this camp, especially now with the Sargavan camp with us.
That's 12 Questions.
Happy Thanksgiving

Griff Olar |

Spell order;
1. Commune (9 rounds, maximum 1 question per round)
1.) Is Gelik alive?
2.)Does Goro's spirit want to be reincarnated?
3.) Are any of the living red mantis members that Griff, Zao, and Mik fought yesterday still in the structure they were in yesterday?
4.) Are the red mantiss in Saventh Yhi ahead of us on their goals in comparison to ours.
5.) do the red mantis in Saventh Yhi have any of the portal crystals that we are looking for?
6.) Have reinforcements been called in to the Red Mantis camp?
7.) Is Chivane plotting an assault on our group?
8.) Do the Red Mantis have the same goals as we do?
9.)Have any of the Red Mantis infiltrated this camp/compound?
If the answer to question 2 is no, then there is no reason to cast Reincarnation. But if Jyord wishes to Griff will not stop him.
2. Scrying (9 minutes)
3. Reincarnation
If the questions are amenable to Mik & Zao, then I'm good with them. If they want alterations or substitutions then go for it.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

I too am thankful for Pathfinder, as it gives me a medium to keep in touch with you wonderful people.
I'll cast commune shortly. I'll answer the first 6, and wait until later today to answer the last 3 giving you a short window to change 1 of the last 3 questions if you want.

Kieyanna. |

Kieyanna gets out some incense and holy water. She starts chanting and performing the ritual for Commune with Cayden Cailean. After about 10 minutes, she goes into a trance and asks the first question.
I'm just going to post the answers as they're numbered in Griff's post above.
Here's the first 6 questions:
1. "Yes, barely."
2. With a smile, "The spell will work."
3. "Yes."
4. "Yes, but not those here."
5. "No."
6. "No."
I'll answer the last 3 in about 8 hours or so. You may choose to change 1 of the last 3 questions if you wish. If you want me to continue sooner, just let me know.

Griff Olar |

If no one objects, I would like to change question 8 to
8.)Is General Rotilius Havelar going to betray the faction alliance?
If anyone in the group doesn't want this or wants to change it or another question to something else then go for it.
Also can other people see what the scryer is scrying on?

Kieyanna. |

Continuing with the new question.
7. "No.
New 8. "No."
9. "Yes, but no longer here."
The spell ends as the last bit of incense burns out. Kieyanna shakes her head as if clearing her thoughts and takes a deep breath. "Give me a minute to clear my head and refocus, and we'll start scrying."
As far as being able to see what the scryer is scrying, It won't really matter in this context, as I'll be describing whatever you want me to. I don't see why someone else couldn't see into the pool of water and see the image as well though.

Kieyanna. |

Kieyanna gets a 3' basin and fills it with water. She then sprinkles some holy water in the basin and starts her ritual. The ritual takes about an hour and finally, using one of Gelik's pieces of clothing, the water in the basin turns to a thick fog.
The center of the fog starts to open, and in the middle sits a gnome. If you didn't know it was him you might not recognize him. He lays on a stone floor, bound by his hands and feet, blindfolded, and gagged. His clothes torn, and he's obviously been beaten multiple times. Except for some occasional movement, you'd almost think he was dead. Not much changes throughout the 9 minutes of scrying. There's the occasional sound of wood scraping stone (probably a chair), and twice a guard paces into view. There are no audible conversations to be heard, and no one else seems to be in the room besides Gelik and the guard.
Is there anything you want to do? Anything else you're looking for?

Griff Olar |

During the hour it takes to cast Griff will get Amivor, Kasata , General Rotilius Havelar, Jask, Jyord, Zao, and see if they will do a head count, and or just check for anyone who is missing.
Durring the 9min of viewing griff will cast detect magic to see if there is any magic on Gelik, cloths, maneckles, area, etc. Also Griff will discuss with Mik if we should cast buff spells and attempt to teleport to Gelik right now & D.Door out, or to fly over sneak/fight our way in and then teleport him out?
spellcraft: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (4) + 20 = 24
Message can be overheard with a DC 25 perception check, and I'm not sure I want to give the bad people warnings.

Mik PZ |

I say we buff and go now, grab Gelik and DDoor out.
Mik will study the image of Gelik to see if it is truly him or an impostor. Regardless if we go, Mik casts See Invisibility and will spend time looking for invisible creatures.
If Griff is in agreement, Mik will also cast Fly, Invisibility, Shield and Mirror Image, in that order.

Griff Olar |

@Mik; not sure you want invisibility & Mirror image at the same time, you'll be inviso, but your immages won't, and that will alert them to our presence.
@Zao; If you would like to go cool, but leaving I'll have to leave someone behind, and I'm not comfortable doing thaat.
To all; this is going to be a grab and run, no combat! After that I would like to go back and KICK MANTIS FACE IN! so don't blow all your buffs now. Also Teleport will haave a 25% chance of going wacky.
Also waiting for Gimble to tell me if there is any magic around Gelik.

Gimble, The Storyteller |

Focusing on Gelik in the scrying pool, Griff cast Teleport and, apparently, SHAZAM, Griff and Mik are gone (I'd say they disappeared in front of everyone, but they were already invisible).
I'm going to say you do this with 2 minutes left in the scrying spell, I'd figure you'd study it for a while before the attempt. Any objections?
Mishap, Studied Carefully: 1d100 ⇒ 28
You are standing in a 25' X 15' room over Gelik. Across the room is a Red Mantis agent sitting at a desk.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 7
He doesn't seem to notice anything out of the ordinary.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Gelik doesn't seem to notice anything either.

Griff Olar |

2 min cool
Is the dor to the room open or closed, and how high is the roof??
Griff will cast wall of stone, it's 2 inches thick the blue line = wall.
