Got it Grid.
The 3 remaining dogs attack. Red on Grid, Black on Ash, Blue on Loran's puppy.
red dog: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 231d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 71d2 ⇒ 2
black dog: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 211d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 81d2 ⇒ 2
blue dog: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 81d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 71d2 ⇒ 1
red dog confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 51d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
The red dog takes a nasty bite out of Gridlock for 7 points. trip: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
The black dog finds and bites Ash for 8 hp. Ash goes unconscious.
The blue dog misses Loran's fiendish puppy.
Ash stabilization: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (8) - 4 = 4
Forsythe, its your turn. this is the 3rd round of bless. You're not sure how long the darkness will last, but you hear the dogs rip into Ash and he screams in pain. You worry that the guards will take this opportunity to join the fray, even with the ogre's roar. We know gridlock might take down a second dog this round, but do what you can to not be a pre-cog.

![]() |

GAH! I can't afford to let Ash die, but I'm not going to make this ogre mad by lying to him. Then I'd be dead too...
Touch ogre with Death's Kiss, and move up to Ash. If I can take the Veil from Temperance on my way, I do so.
My large friend -- stay within 30 feet of me and you shall be healed next round!

Gay Master |

Oh my.

Gay Master |

![]() |

Just so everyone knows... Healing is a lot harder when you channel negative energy :-P
I have to touch you to make your energy affinity invert (lasts only one round), then channel/heal you. It takes two rounds to heal 1d6.
I am not a good healer.
Of the living.
:-P

Someone already took the veil I think, temperance has it, she examined it last round.
K. You kiss the ogre, and move up. Temperance, your turn?
Then gridlock gets to rage and probably kill a puppy.

Gay Master |

eh just to jump ahead.
Gridlock you attack the black puppy (typical)
that makes it a 17 to hit and 12 damage...
the guard dog is still up. Do you want to do that and then back up? or stay put?
[ Temperance: 14 ]... [ Loran: 12, summon 2 ]... [ Grumblejack: 10 ]... [ Guard: 2 ]... ||7| [ Herve: 21 ] ... [ Dogs: 20 ]... [ guards: 18 ]... [ Ash: 17, darkness 7 ]... [ Forsythe: 15, bless 3 ]... [ Gridlock: 13, rage 1 ]...

Gay Master |

::nods:: it ain't pretty.

WhatWouldTemperanceSay |

Yea, I don't think that will help much. Well, I can't draw the potion out of the veil because I think someone in the darkness has it.
F% it guys, this looks bad so I'm going to start casting sleep. If you guys can stand back that would be good, I can't really see what I'm doing here.
I start casting and I 5-foot step up and to the left.

you can always cancel your spell.
Loran, your fiendish puppy attacks a guard dog.
bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 231d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
getting a fierce nibble on one of the massive mastiffs.
Loran, what would you like to do with your action?

Gay Master |

Like so Temperance?
Gridlock, couldn't step back since you said you were going for the black dog.
I think temperance has the veil, the potion is still on it. She was the last one to look at it and go wtf a window?

WhatWouldTemperanceSay |

<OOC>
Forsythe said she was going to grab it. I wouldn't stop her, I'd assume she had a plan and it involved the screaming tiefling:
"Touch ogre with Death's Kiss, and move up to Ash. If I can take the Veil from Temperance on my way, I do so."
In my head that's the way it played out, and so I'm casting sleep since I have no veil to pull things out of. We can retcon that if necc.

Gay Master |

ahh right, that was after the detect magic / examination. yup, okay, so Forsythe has it
k, Loran, you want to delay until after the sleep? or cast and ready to attack?
Grumblejack lumbers forward to stay close to Forsythe.

The Black dog whimpers and withdraws to the door, provoking an attack of opportunity from Gridlock.
The Red dog also withdraws.
The Blue dog attacks Gridlock blue bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 41d2 ⇒ 1
and misses.

Forsythe, the veil-bearer, it is your turn.
round 4 of bless. Grumblejack is death-kissed until the end of this turn.

![]() |

Dark Lord, hear my words and assist us in our time of need!
Here's hoping...
Channel Energy(Heal): 1d6 ⇒ 3
Grumblejack, that's the best I can do my friend!
Move action, pull out healing potion.

Grumblejack stands a bit straighter and seems ready to fight now.
Gridlock cuts a deep gash along the flank of the retreating black mastiff, wheels around and slams the dagger in hilt deep in the collarbone of the large blue wheeler. It whimpers, barely alive.
Temperance, your turn. I'll post a battle pic after you decide if and where you're placing your sleep spell.

WhatWouldTemperanceSay |

I finish casting and aim for where I believe the door to be (the one that leads to the guards). If I'm lucky, they opened the door or one of the dogs is standing outside it.
So my desired target intersection is the NE corner of the square containing the door.
Then I'm back in delay.

Loran's fiendish terrier rips out the throat of the blue heeler Gridlock stabbed.

Those of you with Darkvision can see the last dog, asleep by the door.

The whimpering pawing at the door ceases, and loran orders his conjuration to attack the sleeping dog. There's no noise or movement from the door, as the ogres feet pound on the stone, as he gets closer to the door.
Forsythe , you're standing next to ash with a potion, I imagine you full-round feed ash the potion ? 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 Ash stabilizes, but remains unconscious.
Gridlock? Do you want to continue raging?

Gay Master |

Heheh.
Sorry. Took a day off, will continue to,or row.

ok. back to the action. or lack thereof.
Temperance hangs back, blinking to try to see more in the darkness. Grumblejack looms over the fiendish puppy and the sleeping puppy, as if wondering which one he's supposed to kill. then grabs the guard dog's sleeping body and rips it in half. Loran's confused devil-dog meekly backs away and returns to Loran's side.
Loran, do you want to do anything? you're still holding the corrosive touch charge.

Gay Master |

Five or six guards are inside, half seem to almost be done putting on armor or helping put armor on. You cringe as you see the fat man who branded you, Sergant Thomas Blackerly, commanding them. One guard is just on the other side of the door, carefully watching the inky blackness.

[ Ash: 17 ]...
Loran summons another hell-pup, his current one disappearing in a belch of acrid smoke.
Appearing in the guard room, the pup tries to bite one of the guards. bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 81d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4, and misses.
The guardroom erupts into outburst as the guards stop getting hauberks on, draw their weapons and slash the hell-pup apart.
guard 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 141d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 the first guard slices through the midsection of the pup, and it disappears in a hellish fart. The rustle of chain armor being donned settles down.
suddenly the cloying dark miasma recedes, billowing into the tiefling's unconscious lungs. The door, with some light coming from beyond, is readily apparent in the dim jail cells. Guards begin shouting Its down!, and one shouts The ogre's loose! amid cries of How did they get out?
the captain barks, Get that door open and put them down!
i'll try and get another map up later. my tablet's not working today. right now Grumblejack is behind Loran, and Loran is right in front of the guard door. Everyone else is back a bit further.

I move over until I can see a guard, then I cast "Cause Fear" on the one furthest back in the room that I can see. If I can only see the one in front, that's fine.
Will save, DC15.

Gay Master |

You step forward brandishing the silver symbol of asmodeous, striking fear into the heart of one of the guards. His face goes white as he drops his sword.
