Fathom will swim along the edge of the fronds trying to initially triangulate where the sound is coming from before swimming beneath the kelp. Though to her eyes what lies beneath the kelp can be no darker to her world as it is. :P

"Fathom" |

You hear a faint sound in the distance, unnatural sounds. Ripped sails in the wind and maybe the echo of ..voices, somewhere in the distance.
Ah, some how un-natural etc. *nods* Fathom engages extra caution...:P

Daurros Erdai |

Ok as it seems like our below deck stuff is over or mostly am gonna move on. Feel free to go back and talk just mark it as taking place then
Fathom** spoiler omitted **
The next two days are harsh on the ship, the storm is not a small one and waves crash along and across the deck strain the mast and ripping at sails and rigging. Day and night mix as an endless cycle of wind and rain batters the ship.
Below deck many crew try to stay warm and dry when not needed to battle the storm and Avner seems to endless complains and puke. The storm seems not to agree with the noble. Thunderstrike also take more looking after as the horse does not seem to like the endlessly rolling ship any more then its very green master.
The storm seems to let up on the third day and by the morning of the forth be all but gone. As the gray dawn breaks, burning away the fog something seems strange about the water below. They seem almost solid as if the sea had somehow formed a soft skin. The air seems dead as well, with the sails hanging limp with moisture from the rain and the now receding fog.
At last the mist begins to clear, and what is reviled is not the rolling vista of the sea but a wet green field of weed. The swath of dirty green stretches flatly in all directions.to the stern it extends perhaps a half...
Day after the incidents:
With no sign of Fathom the next day, Daurros begins to suspect the worst. He returns to wherever Grayson's body was kept and carefully inspects it, looking to see if there are any wounds apart from Karkalla's crossbow bolts (take 20). He's particularly looking for signs of Fathom's falcata; he figures she wouldn't have gone as quietly as the crewmen did. He'll also memorize discern shapechanger that morning, and use it on the corpse.
He'll convene with the Falcons as well. "I suspect the sea witch may have met with the same gruesome fate as the crewmen. I admit I don't know her well, but she was adamant about coming aboard and I don't feel she would have left so soon after. A pity; she was useful. He'll then also reveal what his findings were on the corpse, and suggest that now may be the time to dispose of it.
EDIT:Daurros will also begin identifying the magic items they recovered.
Morning of the sea weed field:
Daurros comes up top and surveys his surroundings.

Before the seaweed
You guys will find Fathoms weapons still on the ship, but no sign of her. sorry forgot to repeat this The body has been burnt by a large fire it seems.
And while he was not a shapeshifter, You would guess by the lingering aura some kind of spell was in play that could have changed his appearance.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
No sign of the blue Nixie is near, only the dead hulls of trapped , empty ships can be seen.
Checks
DC 15
This is called a Sargass. A swath of vegetation driven by winds and currents. The size is normally far less then a mile. One this size is highly abnormal
DC 20
Fathom

"Fathom" |

So, a normal walking speed of 30' per turn a character can cover 3 miles over average land terrain in an hour. Fathom's speed as a small water elemental is double that through the water and in an almost straight line, so she should be able to cover a mile in a little under say 15 minutes, at her 'casual' swim speed. Not counting in, of course, the search pattern of constantly having to adjust for echoes etc. So, whatever or who ever is making the noise, Fathom should be there in relatively short time. =)

Ardanto Valanto |

Ardanto's face blanches at Toxims words, "Well we had better make the most of the light and cut a path back to sea." he starts yelling orders for the crew to assemble all the cutting tools they can so they can cut a path though the weed.
Ardanto is the first over the edge to check the stability of the Sargass, to see if it can be walked on and to check that nothing lives with in. As he climbs down he calls up, "Perhaps we should also check out yonder ship?"

Toxim ir' Kinain |

Toxim goes down onto the floral firmament and walks around the ship inspecting the hull. Once he's sure that the 'ground' will hold, he calls to Amella. {b]"Get some crew down here to clean this hull. Everyone that's not cutting us free. No use wasting the opportunity."[/b] He's unsure if they'll get out of this one and it's better if the crew and passengers have something to think about other than their situation.

Keeper of Forbidden Lore |

With Toxims rolls new info
DC 20
Journey's end is one of the sea's most terrible blights, and is said to be able to crush ships within its grasp. Its children are awful creatures formed of the weed itself. It is said they raise at night to slake their hunger on any within their green mothers grasp.
__________________________________________________________________________
The sea weed is thick and spongy but can be walked on {difficult terrain} but Toxim would guess it is thick, very, very thick as it is very solid.
Headed to the other ship?
Fathom
Another thing, you do know the edges of the saragoss is at lest 8 feet thick, where the ship is may be 10 feet thick or more and it may get thicker toward where ever the middle is.

Finn Killshrike |

Finn asks Toxim: "Is there any way to kill this 'Journey's End'? Since it's dawn now, we shouldn't have to worry about its 'children' for a long time, I gather -- maybe we can destroy the source before it has a chance to assault us."

Daurros Erdai |

Finn asks Toxim: "Is there any way to kill this 'Journey's End'? Since it's dawn now, we shouldn't have to worry about its 'children' for a long time, I gather -- maybe we can destroy the source before it has a chance to assault us."
"Very disturbing news. I agree that haste seems in order, but perhaps we should check a few of these nearby rotting hulks first. They may contain clues about what we could face."

Daurros Erdai |

"'Journey's End', hu?" the warforged asks with a bit of surprise showing in his second face. "Let's hope the Blue Nixie avoided this somehow...
Captain? Which ship should we inspect first?"
"I may not be the captain, but that ship about 500 feet away would seem like a good candidate."

Ardanto Valanto |

"I may not be the captain, but that ship about 500 feet away would seem like a good candidate."
Ardanto was already several strides clear of the ship and heading in that direction before he stopped to listen to Toxim's additional info. He nods at Daurros and Guard, points at the ship and says "Like I said, Yonder."

Keeper of Forbidden Lore |

Yonder it is.
As you make your way to the other ship, the spongy ground beneath you gives and quivers like the flesh of some great beast. It seems to swirl at times with a mind of its own.
The ship itself is strangled with weeds and vines, almost as if great claws held it in their grasp. In many places the ship has been torn apart by the vines that now infest it. A plate near the stern simply reads ----Rage----

"Fathom" |

Perception:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20.
Once that is done she moves over to where the sound of voices are coming from that are closest to the water. As a small water elemental it should be no problem to 'well' up through the fronds and assume human form to stand on top of the weed. It being some ten feet thick and herself being unencumbered.
Knowledge Nature:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
And I await the DM's introduction to determine exactly the image of what transpires.

Keeper of Forbidden Lore |

Fathom
You will not have much trouble getting to the ship, how do you wish to appear, in sight or out of sight of the crew, which looks to be trying to cut the ship out. An act that could take weeks you think if not longer.

"Fathom" |

Does she hear the group moving/heading over to the other ship (Which I assume Fathom knows nothing about, since the Wyvern was the thing she was concentrating on?)

Can we enter the ship without needing to climb up to the railing? Are there any really large holes?

Keeper of Forbidden Lore |

Fathom
Not on this side big enough for you to fit, but the other side has a very large hole. But before you get much farther you can hear cries of alarm from the Sea wyvern

Keeper of Forbidden Lore |

Fathom

"Fathom" |

Fathom turns her head and 'looks' to those aboard the ship, her hands upon her brown hips as she stands and balances easily upon the thick matt of kelp,
"I have no inentshun of movin' anywhere, but I also would be knowin' where de whore son be who done such a poor attempt at tryin' to kill me!" Fathom calls back in reply.

"Fathom" |

Fathom frowns,
"I was lured off de ship an' attacked by some one who has de power of a magical blade. Dey attack me an' left me to die in de ocean. Now, unless you be on de side of dis miscreant, you had best be sortin' t'ings out amoonst yourselves." Fathom calls back, though it is obvious her anger is rising.

"Fathom" |

Fathom raises an eyebrow, "Dat be easy, I jus' follow de smell you all be leavin' in de water..." She waves a hand dismissively,
"Enough of dis! You be de ones stuck an' in peril, not me! You should all be considerin' your plight while you be stuck an' rottin' here" Fathom folds her arms and looks off into the distance, now obviously bored by the actions of those aboard the ship.

Keeper of Forbidden Lore |

"An ye should bea watcing ye ton' " she says raising her hand as ten crossbows cock and point at Fathom. "Is been a lon, day an I az ittle patience fo' tricksters and critters of is damnable place!"
At this point Karkalla and Finn make it close enough to both hear the exchange and see a very naked Fathom standing in the weeds as Amella and a dozen crew prepare to open fire on her

"An ye should bea watcing ye ton' " she says raising her hand as ten crossbows c%#! and point at Fathom. "Is been a lon, day an I az little patience fo' tricksters and critters of is damnable place!"
Fathom again tilts her head,
"Oh, is dat be so?" Fathom quips, "Ye poor t'ings. Well I just be goin' away den, an' be comin' back in'a few days, when you all be feelin' in'a better mood..." Fathoms tone drips sarcasm as she slowly begins to turn, making as if to start walking off into the kelp morass.

Toxim ir' Kinain |

Toxim joins the other members of the Millenium Falcons as they go toward the Rage and turns back once the commotion on the Sea Wyvern is noticed. He stays near Karkalla figuring that they would be doing any scouting that needed to be done and he wanted to be where he could support her.

Ardanto Valanto |

"Bah! Its the blooming witch, she is like a bad penny, but it is mighty suspicious who she has mastery over water and manages to disappear right before we encounter a terrible storm. Daurros could the witch some how of caused that storm, is there magic that powerful that could be wielded by her to flounder us on this waste land?"
Ardanto stops walking as he asks the question, not wanting to get too close, just in case a stray crossbow bolt hits him when they turn the witch into a pin cushion.
